To be honest I think Im going to go for the rocktron midi mate for now until i can get enough money for a nicer controller!

Also how do you control ALL of your rack effects units if the controller only has 1 midi input?

Usually there are 3 MIDI...thingies: In, Out, and Through. As I understand it, you can (for lack of a better term) daisy-chain multiple MIDI-controlled units together going:

Controller > MIDI IN, MIDI THROUGH > MIDI IN, MIDI THROUGH, etc etc

Right, so you'd send MIDI from the controller to the first rack unit, from that unit's through to the next unit, and so on and so forth. I'm in the airport now but if you want I'll give a lengthier explanation when I'm home
