Most performers will be given only about 5-6 minutes for their performance with the exception of the medleys which could last about ten minutes each. I think either Lady Gaga or the Aretha Franklin tribute will open the show. |

Again, that's not what I'm implying they should do. I'm saying that now it seems they're more inclined to just perform what the record label/whoever tells them to so they win favour with the Americans and get more recognition out there. That's not entirely bad, but I think they'll be predictable in what or how they'll perform than they used to. I don't mean they should take the piss, but the past Muse might have considered playing something different or... just NOT their most well-known single(s) at a big show like this, lol. As you say, it's an opportunity. They could show off their musical prowess by playing something unique - Exogenesis (even just Part 1), MK Ultra, USoE. Anyways, these points are meaningless cos no one actually knows what they'll play, so no point in moaning ahead of their performance, lol. I have my money on either of tracks 1-3 on TR, though .On a separate note, I don't like the thought of an awards show having some huge impact on a rock band's career . Call me a cynic or 'unrealistic' or whatever, but I think a good band should be able to influence their own career without the need for attending a glitzy bash. I know they're there to perform, so the renowned Muse live experience will get exposure, but I just find the whole awards scene a bit naff and it's sad that they have such relevance to a musician or actor's career path, particularly in the States. I do get that it's much harder in America where there's hundreds of millions of people and this sort of thing is a quicker and easier way of reaching tons of audiences, and at the end of the day it doesn't matter where they perform as long as they're getting their songs out to more people, but it just feels a bit pretentious, for lack of a better word. Oddly enough, I don't feel like this towards the Brits or NME awards or any of the awards here... the American ones just feel more serious and OTT to me... like the artist's success is somehow hanging on an award, haha. *shrugs*

Alright, grammy's are getting near, and this will be the last chance for anyone who would like to write a "note" for Muse. I will be putting it in a little valentine's box, and give it to them (if not, muse management), at the grammy's. So anyone else who is interested, please PM me your note, and it will be put in the box. I've got around 30 great letters so far! So, thank you to all who have contributed.
