[In response to megan]: Is there some way you could amend all the references to "muselulz" to a more precise reference to something like "Muse.mu Lolz thread," maybe with a hyperlink? I have a feeling you'll find that retroengineering individual attribution, although commendable, will be extremely time-consuming and, if your blog precedes the latest Lolz thread (#3 now), maybe impossible, as the older lolz threads on Muse.mu get deleted. And ideally, any quoting of lolzes from series should make a note of that, too (ex.: "from a series by ____ on Muse.mu's Lolz thread #__"). That format covers context, individual credit by name, source website, and the source thread. What do you other Lolzers think?

megan, I do think you should definitely do everything you can to establish a new standard of attribution that applies from now on, in which whatever people post must be individually credited, but having a policy like that won't prevent some people from maybe just stealing credit for others' work (esp. if they'd forgotten to make a note of who did what when they post) -- and you'll have to be alert to what's transpired on the Lolz thread here in order to look out for such transgressions.

Thanks for coming forward as you have; that took some courage! I realize that you're probably one of the biggest fans of our lolzes out there, although your way of showing it isn't pleasing to all of us...

In all honesty, you guys have every right to be mad. I just started the tumblr because I just thought it would be a fun thing to do. But I NEVER cropped any credits from any photos... like seriously, all I do is browse through these pages, and copy and paste the lulz I find from here onto there.. I've never browsed through anyone's personal photobucket or deviantart to get them. I also never touched any of them on photoshop or anything.. they're all exactly as I found them here. I'd hate to have my credit on something and have it removed too, that's just rude.

Unless, someone who submitted a photo cropped the credits out. :/ Like I know I've never done that with any of the lulz I've posted, but maybe it was some of the people submitting that did it. I highly doubt it was my friend who cropped them out either. She also just gets the photos from here.

If you guys want credits on each individual photo though, I'd be more than happy to put them in! I just guessed cause majority of you guys don't have tumblr accounts, I figured I could credit all the lulz coming from this board as a whole. When people ask me where I get them from or if I made them, I never say it was me. I always give credit to the boards. You guys are after all, the ones giving us all those laughs!

From now would you guys like each photo credited individually? Like with a click through link to each persons profile on here with text at the bottom saying 'made by _______'? Though it'd take me rather long to do it for every single post haha, if it makes you guys feel more acknowledged I'll do it!

We don't hate you. I, like Trilateral, appreciate that you were brave enough to step up and say that you're the founder of it.

It's entirely not your fault if it's someone else who has been cropping out names and digging through personal files. I just wish there was a way to stop them from doing that.

They are just pictures with amusing writing on them... why so much beef over this? It's not like you are getting paid for making lolz, so what if someone steal a picture that probably took you 5 minutes to make a lolz out of, just take it as a compliment that they found it funny and get over it?

And -megan- I sent you a "question" on your tumblr page, and I know I sounded mad, but please don't take offence to it. I just wanted to stress the importance of giving us the pwoper credit (to the Muse.mu lolz board, or whatever is decided) As long as you do this, I'm cool with it, but I'm not sure how everyone else will feel about it.

And just for future reference, it’s always better to ask people if you can use their work before you post it on another website.
