haven't seen anything bad from coat of chrome. is your finish still holding up well or has it scratched at all?

Yeah its still good but not full on clear as say simons. Its alright finish wise, picks up minor marks fairly easily like pick scrapes but you can barely see them.

I wouldn't get a chrome finish. I think mirror clad looks just as good or even better, but I understand the playability issues. Also it's really hit and miss!

There aren't really any playability issues, I still play the same as I would any other guitar.

if you're going for that fender antigua finish

MFC, was the holey works guitar that you played much lighter than the works 001?

i'm wondering if mine has that much wood removed. it's a little heavier than an old les paul.

Actually thinking about it, it was fucking heavy. Maybe the bigsby? or the aluminium tubing in the holes... The 001 was pretty light IIRC but that may have been the tulipwood?

DAT FLOOR

The bigsby wouldn't add that much weight. I was thinking the holey would be lighter than 001 001 is apparently chambered and weight relieved, so it's not the same as the holey. it's probably similar to what musecasters' mirror X-Y is now like.

Yeah, I cant quite remember how heavy the works 001 was, wasn't too heavy, but the holey was definitely very heavy.

Your clear coat finish prior to chroming looks flawless. Do you think that plays a big part in how good the chrome goes on?

Always wanted to try dip swirling. Might try it on a spare body I've got.
