I'm replacing the bridge on the stealth DC as the current one is missing a spring and the saddles are pretty worn down...since the saddles can't be adjusted individually (without raising the entire bridge on one side or the other) I'm guessing they need to be filed? What's the best way to do this?
Not sure if Dominicfullstop will like the new bridge as it's a different colour

You can file them with nut files. Find the radius of your finger board, and file the saddles to match that, then you can set your action to wherever, and they'll all follow. I recommend setting your treble side .010 lower than the bass side, it tapers and follows the fingerboard better

thanks, any suggestions since (I think) it's compound radius? That confused me enough with the fender bridges... I usually just set each string to a certain height (EAD 5/64" and GBE 4/64") which might not be the best way to do it.
Also, is there a reason to leave this ground here? I don't understand why it's needed... I'm replacing the entire pickguard assembly, and I was only going to wire it up the standard way

Yes, it's to complete the grounding shield around the electronics. I'm assuming your pickguard is shielded too? If not, needs to be! Otherwise there's a wide open door in the shielding circuit. Essentially rendering it nearly useless. As far as
The compound radius goes, find the radius at the first, at the 12th, then extrapolate it down to the bridge. Example, if the first is 7.25" and the 12th is 12" you'll want to shoot for 17.25" or 18" to make it easier. Following that "cone" radius.

Start of something I've wanted for years since I saw Klawn's E-shape custom
. A relative who's starting a small luthiery business is doing the build, here's a rough outline on specs. It'll be 6 string not like the 7 string headstock pictured.Body - E-shape mansonesque Walnut top -African mahogany body -dimarzio evolution2 in bridge + mo joe in neck -hipshot bridge -oil finished -one volume and one tone -black hardware -No pick up rings Neck -Bolt-on neck -Wenge+padouk for the neck(5 ply wenge-padouk-wenge-padouk-wenge) -Macassar ebony for the fingerboard and headstock. -Flamed mapple binding -Carbon rods + 2 ways trussrods -6105 frets -graphtech nut -Radius 12 -Scale 25.5

the strat? that's going to be done sometime soon, but I was referring to something else which I'm sure he'll post about within the next few days
Also, the neck on that is going to be slightly different. it's going to have an angled headstock, and instead of CBS strat, it'll be one of those hockey stick things

No, because I thought an angled CBS strat headstock would look...wrong
although this guitar is DEFINITELY influenced by EVH

The Maton is in for some fine tuning
![]() I decided to give James a scare by saying it arrived with a broken neck, couldn't keep a straight face though. Checking it through the Plek tonight as well. New nut, setup, truss rod look over, possible fret level if needed. ![]()
