TSP was never a hard song vocally.

It's quite straining chest vocals is it not?

I'm no expert, it just seems to be perticularly high for the deeper voice he has these days

Maybe on "You watch this space" and "Slave to the grave" but I think his main problem with it was running out of breath during the chorus, hence why he got Chris to fill in for those two lines.

I'd say songs like Butterflies & Hurricanes, Plug In Baby and Uprising all have harder choruses than The Small Print.
EDIT: TSP does have some pretty annoying vowels during the high parts though. |

I don't think Matt would have any problem singing it nowadays, but I'm not sure how good it would sound. The tone of Matt's voice is a lot different now and not particularly suited to the song, and he seems to want to go without distortion on his vocals nowadays which made the song IMO. I don't think there's a possibility they'd bring it back though, but I can see assassin and apocalypse please making a comeback.

I've seen two incredible Muse encores in my time.
1. Dead Star > Micro Cuts 2. Micro Cuts > Stockholm Syndrome > Take A Bow If everyone remembers the Earls Court ending to Micro Cuts, they slowed it down to a standstill and it rocked. So, here is the best encore EVER. Dead Star > Micro Cuts (EC outro) > Stockholm Syndrome > Take A Bow I maintain TaB is still the best closer Muse have ever produced, especially with the extra 'duh-duh-duh-duh!' ending they put on live. |

Yup I've always loved TaB as an outro. And I wonder why they didn't do that Micro Cuts EC outro more often. It was absolutely incredible especially in its first night placement.

Still think I'd prefer a TaB -> Dead Star -> Micro Cuts (EC Outro) -> SS + Rockout ordering, but those are without a doubt the best 4 songs to close with.
