Exactly how I see it and these 'talented' bands do end up getting nowhere. They may be amazing musicians and make excellent music for their genre and audience but they are either ugly, don't dress the part or have no personality. They get no recognition at all and they eventually die out. I know many people in that category and it's such a shame.

At the moment, it all seems to be:

*Dressing stupidly smart.
*Playing your guitar in clean on a Telecaster in every song.
*Strumming it like a retards.
*Taking drugs.
*Wearing thick rimmed glasses which they actually don't need.
*Smoking your arse and drinking your tits off.

People like these though to be honest, are only going to be famous for a year then die out due to a new trend to come in, unless they act on this and actually become part of that trend.

Haha you just summed up most of the indie scene! But yeah I completely agree with you, there are to many bands around getting blown off for not fitting a set of rules that don't have anything to do with the music. I reckon if we got a few of the people on the muse board together and blasted out a three chord trick song while wearing low cut tops we'd get signed. I'm not even kidding about that last part.

I really despise the indie scene and pretty much the whole current music scene we're currently going through.

Indeed. Even band record labels are advising what bands should wear, what they should do and if a band member doesn't look the part, he will be advised to be kicked (And yes, that is actually true.) A band couldn't get signed because the bass player was too scruffy looking so they had to kick him out.

Being in a band is too commercialised now. It's all about how big your penis is. It's not about playing your instrument really well and making memorable songs anymore.

I reckon we really could and it isn't a joke at all. We'll set up a Myspace. Get a few gigs and ta-dah.

Which comes onto my other rant, getting signed isn't the same anymore. Anyone can at any level as there are way too many independent record labels out there now and you just need public attention (Which is far too easy now). The Independent record labels can't even look after themselves as well. It's normally just some kid whom spends his time on the internet, making the band get a few more plays on their Myspace by spamming their link about.

Mmmm exactly. I'm completely sick of all the new music being forced down our throats. I remember years ago when it was the same with say rap, r&b etc etc and guitar music was a lot tougher to get noticed. Thing's were a challenge for musicians (at least the good ones) because there was a lot more rivalry! I remember the days of the whole Blur vs Oasis thing was going on. There were better bands around then because it was a lot harder to get signed and get to that sort of level without a huge long wait.
