I was in Nice and on the radio they said that we were about 50,000 people. They talked about Muse's show a lot because it was great of course but also because of the immense traffic jam it caused on the motorway (27 kms). Some people even left their cars on the motorway or were parked anywhere in the city (roundabouts, pavements...)

And on this link we see 49,600.

Nice is a nightmare for parking and simply for getting there. Muse should have come to Marseille, it would have been easier! But if they came back to Nice I would go again of course!

Assuming 49k+ tickets were sold for the Nice stadium gig, paid attendance at all of the T2L shows in France (255k) may have surpassed tickets sold at all of the shows which took place in the UK (253k) during this tour.

Also, for the first time a Muse album (T2L) has actually sold more copies in both France (415k) and the USA (440k) than in the UK (320k). All figures are estimates.

Peak weekly metrics for the three Muse singles at Alternative radio in the US according to Mediabase:

2,336 spins 14.3 million audience Madness
1,718 spins 7.4 million audience Panic Station
601 spins 1.6 million audience Follow Me

Peak weekly metrics for the three Muse singles at all formats of US radio according to Mediabase:

9,104 spins 43 million audience Madness
2,170 spins 8.6 million audience Panic Station
713 spins 1.7 million audience Follow Me

Apparently, sold out crowd in Mexico City means 24,500 people (http://translate.google.com.tr/trans...924267&act=url). So, as Muse got 3 nights sold out in Palacio de Ios Deportes and 1 night is almost sold out (http://www.ticketmaster.com.mx/muse-...004ADA7608137B).

This makes about 96,000 for 4 nights in Mexico City.

I think full concert arena capacity at the Sports Palace is around 19,000 - 24,000 assuming all seats behind the stage are sold along with several thousand GA floor tickets.

By comparison, Beyonce sold 19,000 tickets for her recent September show and Katy Perry sold just under 17,000 tickets for her show at this same venue on her last tour and Roger Waters attracted 43,000 for three sold out shows for The Wall Live tour at this venue in December 2010. He sold another 83,000 tickets for two shows at Foro Sol stadium in April 2012. Also, Rammstein reportedly sold over 40,000 tickets for two shows at the Sports Palace in December 2012.

If the press reports of 24,000+ fans attending the first show are legit, I am revising my estimate of total tickets sold for the four Muse gigs in Mexico City from 65,000 to around 70,000 - 80,000. The Mexican press previously reported sold out Muse shows at both the Guadalajara (12,000 attendance) and Monterrey (15,000 attendance) venues. Let's hope the local promoter will report the figures to Billboard Boxscore so we can get the actual numbers in a couple of weeks.

First U.S. single and album chart positions for Muse in Billboard:

#38 Time Is Running Out - Alternative Songs (chart dated 10 April 2004)*

#13 Absolution - Heatseekers Albums (chart dated 10 April 2004)**

*Debut single peaked at #9 and spent 21 weeks on this modern rock radio airplay chart.

**Spent 68 weeks on this album chart for new artists peaking at #107 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It has sold over 700,000 copies to date. Showbiz never charted in the U.S. and Origin of Symmetry charted for one week in 2010.

Meanwhile, Follow Me dropped another 7 slots to #34 at Alternative Songs in its 15th chart week. On the latest chart the track moves up to #33 despite losing airplay.

The Mexican promoter OCESA-CIE reported attendance of 12,000 for the Guadalajara gig. Reviewers and media sometimes overstate the number of concert-goers. The 96,000 number might be the total attendance for all six Mexican shows. We will possibly get the Palacio de los Deportes and Monterrey Arena boxscores in the next two weeks.
