I don't have much space (or real estate as TGP calls it ) left on my pedal board, but I sort of want to add a fuzz pedal again.

Dom, can I buy your DS-1? Last Friday I was (tentatively?) asked to be the second guitarist in a grunge band. No idea what they even sound like, but I might as well accept if the subject comes up again...

I am 'that guy', or I will be when my board is finished. Does it count if one of the boards is based around a gr20?

Also, James, I'll build you something fuzzy if you desire.

But isn't the GR-20 pretty much an entire board itself? Or something like that.

The GP-10 is actually pretty good and could probably replace my entire board and amp setup, but some of the effects still track poorly (unless it's still user error)

Plus I also like having separate switches for everything. Not a fan of having to cycle through a bunch of different patches to find a certain one (yes, I realize I can change the order, but I'd still be using a fair few different ones)

And what could that be? PM me if it's something that we shouldn't discuss here

Not really, it has some effects, but they're a bit rubbish and have to be saved to the patch. I like to use it with outboard effects, that's a bit more flexibile. I'm planning to build a 4-way programmable switcher, which should allow me to switch between four different loops with one button push, when I get around to it. At the minute I just have a global true bypass switch to turn the board on and off.
Re: the tracking of the GP10, what kind of problems are you having?
My GR's like you to play quite gently, if you're heavy handed that may have something to do with it.

If I had the money, I'd like to replicate a structure like Guthrie Govans.

Putting pedals you don't change anything on underneath is a great idea.

Where are those pics from? Whenever I have seen pictures/videos of Guthrie's rig it's always been really simple.

The rig rundown of his set-up with Steve Wilson.

His setup seems to have changed a fair bit... no peavey amp (are those actually used?) no diezels or fender heads, and the hayden amp is back

Apparently the actually amps are the main sound. The Kempers are just for particular sounds, so maybe sounds where the Diezel and Fenders are more prominent. Also, apparently the Peaveys are in his other rig which he'll start using next year.

What's the best way to run backing tracks and a click from Ableton for live performances? Anyone got any experience with this?

A little. What's the question?

The way I'm used to is that you import tracks and click/cues in as separate files and load them to run simultaneously through different channels.

Also, beware of the "warp" function. It'll throw everything off.

So would the Marshalls have a lot to do with his sound? I always thought what's on stage is just props (although I can't remember if the 4x12s are mic'd up or not)

I got some iPhone 4 quality pictures of his amps last year when they were supporting Muse (the best thing about being on the side of the stage is getting to see all the gear, despite having the opportunity to give Marx a handshake )

Anyway, it was two Diezel VH4 heads, two Marshall Super Lead heads, and two Fender Super Sonic 100 heads AS WELL as the kemper stuff and a few other bits.... and then the stuff on the stage (peavey and fender combo amps on top of the two 4x12s)

Also, finally got around to buying a copy of undertow. Which of their albums should I get next?

I wonder if my amp has shipped. Do you have any inside information for me?

If you want to go chronologically, Ænima has some really great tunes on it. Lateralus is a more consistent album.
So basically, Ænima=Higher high points, but more a collection of tracks
Lateralus=Far more consistent, feels like a more full body of work.

Sup guys, been a while.

Recently got back into playing my guitar having neglected it for a while. Got a 72 Tele Deluxe reissue, and I've come to the conclusion it needs a new bridge pickup - as the stock one isn't particularly what I'm looking for anymore as its very thin sounding and not particularly hot either.

Any recommendations on a humbucker sized pickup which would pair up with a modern voiced amp (Blackstar) quite nicely for some more modern toanz? Also if they come with a silver cover that would be even better.
