When was that? The only time I've ever seen it metioned was on the MB-1's initial press release from Hugh, after that the DeLorean model sorta disappeared

Yeah I rang up about it and they said they were working on getting a model that would be reasonably price as they wanted to stay away from the 5,000 mark they were starting at.

Boy am I glad to hear that, I definitely want another one and a more affordable price would be welcome!

But would a lower price mean less of Hugh's magnificent craftsmanship?

I understand that they aren't even made by hugh anyway, so his magnificent craftsmanship does not exist

He's still on tour with JPJ and TCV isn't he guyce?

Well right, but I meant more that if they're for the most part hand-built by Manson's now, can they keep up that level of craftsmanship and still lower the prices and/or make them a little more "mass-produced"?

And does anyone think this will impact the value of a current MB-1? I hope not!

I don't think it's about making them cheaper and more mass produced. All it was is that they were trying to work out a way to make the delorean MB-1 cost less than 5000 (probably because of the finish and all the extra work that has to go into it). I can't see anything changing with how they manufacture the guitars really, and I wouldn't want to see them make them more mass produced anyway as they probably wouldn't be as good. And I wouldn't consider them mass produced as it is.

Right, I agree that they're not mass-produced as it is. I just assumed that with a price drop there would also be a sort of gap in craftsmanship, but I see what you're saying now.

I can't really see the finish costing that much more in the first place, unless there are some other changes to the delorean MB-1.

Although, the installation costs listed on their site will add to the price a fair bit, and the pedals themselves too (phase 90 and FF)

Now, I remember this was discussed before, but I can't seem to find the posts...can anyone list what can be used with the X-Y pad OTHER than the kaoss pad? (because I think someone mentioned that it couldn't control ALL MIDI devices)

im sure if you were to just use it with ableton live, you could just use the midi mapping to set it to anything?

whereas softsynths and effects in a DAW such as cubase have specific CCs that you use to change things, With ableton you can open a VST/VSTi, configure what controls you want to be used in ableton, then with midi mapping, you can use MIDI Learn to use the XY pad to control those functions of the VST. I think...

Im sure someone like haze will be able to give a more accurate explanation!

Not sure if this is what you wanted, James 90, but here's the press release with all of the initial options they were giving: http://www.mansons.co.uk/news/news-item/30.html

As for MIDI devices that work with the Manson, I'm sure I don't know the half of it. I've only ever heard/seen it used with a DigiTech whammy, the Kaoss Pad from the Guitarist demo, Cubase from the Music Radar demo, and to control amp/effect settings in a Line 6 M9 in Rust_Relic's video. That's my knowledge of it

thats a good point actually, Its been used in various demos to control cubase stuff, so i think it is safe to assume it can

It would be cool if the delorean was made with titanium instead of aluminium.
