Maybe it is just a case of being used to playing a pretty strict, supportive and transitioning to Matt’s ‘frontman’ freedom.

There’s nowt wrong with it, it’s just that we’ve all obvs become accustomed to Matt’s looser style being a staple of Muse’s sound.
This is basically what I said, except remember that in his professional night-after-night performances he's playing bass.

Ik, I’m just saying that, since he’d been playing guitar longer and it’s probs his main instrument, I wouldn’t have thought playing bass would affect it too much but you might be right.

(also, Globalist?)
True but they're also mostly guitar parts that don't actually sound that exciting when Matt plays them either tbf haha.

Agreed on Hoodoo though, sounds as if it would've been mega live.

Yeah he plays the chords during the first part while matt's sliding about. Can see him using one of the Status guitars here:

I have to go with Citizen Erased from Le Zenith 2001. Just blows me away with how perfect it is and the transition from guitar to piano at the end.

Check out the one from Zepp in 2001. Same tour and all but sounds bigger in performance and recording.

Seriously though, Guiding Light stuck around for 2 tours and was rehearsed for a 3rd while this gorgeous space rock ballad with Matt’s best ever solo that was an actual single dies within 2 years

The kind of company this post keeps is ties over t-shirts, Ne-Yo and Big Momma’s House 2 in the ‘things that were only acceptable in 2006’ club.

I recall that Invincible was seen as the primary derided dud at the time when I first signed up. How times have changed: chuckle:

The solo is still pretty ace.

Lovely version of a great song, I actually prefer it half a step down as well

I've never seen that version, it's great!

I prefer the lower key as well, same with MK Ultra.

HAARP version is actually the best imo. Half-step down is so wrong
