No for Gold, Yes for Burst Looks hawt. Though I would say, I wonder what it would look like with no binding on the neck of the burst O.o Just curious...

Yeah I meant for a different guitar. I didn't know how much they vary, but I love that burst...especially with the flame top. What's the body actually made of? site says 40 year old fireplace mantelpiece, but what is it specifically?

As for the headstock binding, I'd put it on the burst, but not the gold top.

i have no idea what it is. that guitar was just an experiment really to see if the baby idea worked. and it did. i did it as cheaply as possible, and as that mantlepiece was available i just used that.

yesterday i got the logos cut out only to find my dremel had broken, so i couldnt inlay them. which was a bugger. so i made a couple of truss rod covers from the same black/white/black veneer sandwich as the back of the headstocks instead.



and got the neck pocket done so once im ready to do it its all set to be glued together. but theres lots to do before that yet.
because i dont have a flat end to the fretboards, i cant just route straight through the top like on a les paul, so i have to have a step in the neck

i enjoy seeing proper luthiery like this. It's a big step up from bolting a neck on a plank and giving it a nice finish like the rest of us do on here...

heres the chamber and wire route


and after a couple of hours with some tiny planers



im leaving it rough till its glued together and the bindings on, then i can get it all nice and right. also, the ledge for the recurve with be very useful for clamps

also also, heres the top for the burst

Best looking guitar ever. I remember when it was being built, took you ages to finish but I've never followed a build quite so intently
