I don't think it would. The second pickup in the MBK:90 set was made specifically to use in that pickup setup and with the sustainer, whereas the MBK-1 set is a standard neck and bridge pickup set.

Do the MBK:90s sound huge when they're in series? Fancy those pickups when I eventually order a custom

Yeah, though you haven't heard huge until you've heard the #stealth, as that as some higher output ones. To give you an idea, my mirror E (which is probably closest) is about half as loud in series compared to the stealth

Can anyone give me advice for restringing these HAP Gotoh's?

When I changed the strings it was all okay up until the last three strings with how shallow the posts are, because of the way the are done to eliminate the string tree. It seems like I have loads of string on the B/E left excess even when doing the "two tuner length" rule.

how are you ending up with so much excess? I use the two post length method as well and I have so little string left that it gets to the point where it's stressful to even try tuning it up to pitch in fear of it snapping off

Not sure, I use elixr nanowebs, but I've been using this method on Fender's, Rickenbacker's and Epiphones no problem :/

for the light strings it's best to just pull the string all the way through tightly, put your finger on the nut, then move the string back a bit to the 1st fret, my preference is slightly behind the first fret so I have a little bit of excess left over and still get the best amount of wraps around the post.

try that and see if it works

The whole thing with using two posts to measure doesn't really work in some cases, especially if the G, B, and E posts are lower than they should be. I usually just try to get the wrap above where the string goes in, then at least two below it.

But then I only really measure using two posts when restringing the old style Fender machine heads, as those need the excess string cut before you put them in the machine head.

New Manson MB-2 Colour

I emailed Manson Guitar Works asking if their was any other colours except from black and silver. They replied saying that they were going to release a red metallic model called (Very Light Red) for it.

Pretty sure they're referring to this one. It's just out of stock right now

Someone school me on how putting down a deposit to Manson works. It looks like they want you to pay the 179 delivery cost upfront, right? What if I choose to collect it at the shop, and when it's ready ask to pay for delivery?

What about the payment time? How do you know when the rest of the amount will be due?

Yeah the delivery gets paid with the deposit. If you ask for delivery later they'll probably do it, might be best to email the works to check though.

The rest gets paid when the guitar's ready.

Do they give you an estimate of how long it would take so you can prepare your piggy bank?
