They put a lot of things in the Resistance for the sake of putting it in. I mentioned in another thread the organ intro of US. Cool, but doesn't really have a purpose.
So it's more of a wider issue than synths. I hope they keep to that BH&R style. Some of my favorite songs came from that experimentation.

Good point. The subject was synths so that's why I was harping on that but I agree there were a lot of unnecessary details. Nice to hear that someone else feels that way about the US intro. I liked that they were using organ again but it didn't really have a point to it.

What about the guitar solo in the extended intro. It does sound like they chucked everything they had into some of those songs. Some of it makes sense, some of it doesn't.

I'd quite like to see an album cover that stands out. One like Origin or the Feeling Good / Hyper Music cover, something with bright, striking colours. I've found the recent album/single covers a bit bland to be honest.

As for the name of the album, there seems to be a pattern.
Shobiz=meh
Origin of Symmetry= woah.
Absolution= meh
Black holes and revelations= woah.
The Resistance= meh

so....album number six should have a strange name?

As for the artwork, i think all of their artwork is pretty well done. I think its more important that the artwork matches the albums direction (I think Absolution's cover matches the songs nicely).

Last album actually had a ton of Piano work.

USoE and IBTY are both completely piano based

and all three exogenesis' have lots of piano work as well.

A lone, "Road Warrior"-esque figure stands with his back facing us. In the distance, you can see a ruined city with hexagonal architecture. In the foreground, spread around the figure's feet, are burnt album covers. They have been burnt to the point that you really have to look in order make out what they once were. One looks like a girl, dancing on the moon. Another, shows strange forks all in a row. Yet another shows silhouettes of flying people. On the right hand side of the figure, there's a dead horse.

Do you just wait for people to make mistakes

Fine. 2/3 of Exogenesis has lots of piano and IBTY and USoE are piano driven.
