Lyrically not too coherent, but I'm guessing it'll come around in the full album context. Musically great. Simple structure, and I love the raw (sorry!) sound, not too synth-y. My hopes for Drones really kicked up a notch or two.

For me, this feels like a best friend who has been off doing drugs for 3 years has come back into the fray - and sorted their shit out.

Now that I found this thread (you'd think I'd have learned the proper place to post around here by now), here's what I said:

I'm really happy with the way the original riff is used. Seems to me it starts out rather 'untainted', you could say, then when it's immersed into the song with the other sounds, it really works.

The classic riff really retains the Muse sound, it's sounds exactly the same sonically as it does in most live recordings, which is good.

Also, nothing like listening to Matt Bellamy singing "Your ass belongs to me now."

I love the song and I like seeing the band in the video, but the video itself doesn't really scream "game changer" to me...

Take into consideration who it was that actually said it would be a "game changer".

I know, that's what I mean! Tooting one's own horn a bit too much. Decent video though. Just not enough wow.

It IS a 'lyric video', not a proper music video.

But I expected some game changing!

(I'm just being difficult for the sake of it. )

Compared to most recent albums, they really are taking a darker approach to this album. The song was awesome and heavy and pretty simple. But I like it! Also, Drones is probably going to be the most explicit album from Muse to date, which I totally welcome.
