My Iron Lung is a decent example of a whammy 4 with chords

think it's whammy 4? Was a while ago they did that, dunno when each whammy came out

I think Greenwood still has the first Whammy.

That sound is kinda horrible, but could be desired in certain situations I guess, if you're looking for that disgusting glitchy sound..

Yeah, My Iron Lung was original Whammy, same one Morello uses.

If it was purely for sequenced pitch-shifting, the pedal could just have a screen showing the positions of the individual sliders that control the stage and pitch. Something like that could be reasonably priced, though I guess it may turn out to be a one trick pony, largely for small budget Musers.
With guitar rig, you can have two sequencers controlling two whammy pedals right at the beginning of your chain. Each sequencer has a different pattern as needed for the song. Have the default for the setting to have first seq/whammy on, and the 2nd off. Then you bind the on/off for all 4 effects to one button on the foot controller. One tap switches effects and patterns

The effect in MOTP is a vocoder, so yeah, people have been at it for decades.

The Boss pedal can do pitchshifting, just can't control it using MIDI like all Whammies since the WH4.

Say what. The effect isn't Matt running his guitar through 2 synths? He said that's how he got the effect in an interview..

actually is it a vocoder? Maybe I'm missing something obvious but can't see vocoder in the descrip anywhere

That particular synth does have a vocoder and I have replicated the effect with I think a square wave playing the pattern, running both that and a guitar into a vocoder, then adding distortion after.

Doing it with a Whammy, it is more glitchy and MOTP is more clean in comparison. But really picking hairs at that point.

I thought he just had something doing the pitchshifting and blended it slightly with the 'un-shifted' signal

or sutin

How does Matt get the MOTP effect live? My guitar teacher reckons he mimes to a backing track, whilst it isn't hard to mime to, that's ridiculous as the tone is different for almost every performance. So, considering Matt doesn't just settle for using Guitar Rig/Whammy like us regular folk, what does he do?

.
This might be a dumb question, but I don't suppose there is a VST synth modeled on the Clavia is there?

And which vocoder did you use to do this?
