Follow Me has climbed to #56 on the latest Mediabase Alternative radio songs chart with just over 100 weekly spins while the global cume for WWZ which features the song in its closing credits has now reached $366 million in its third week of release.

Muse concert attendance update Stadio Olimpico Roma Italia: 60 mila spettatori according to several media outlets while T2L made it back to the Top 5 albums on iTunes in Italy in the days following the concert over the weekend

Pollstar will release its annual mid-year Top Concert Tours for 2013 in a few days. I will post the link when the chart is released. In the meantime, below is the Pollstar chart for mid-year 2010 showing where the top acts ranked the first six months of that year:

http://www.pollstarpro.com/specialfe...dwideTours.pdf

Pollstar did not include the six European stadium dates in June 2010 - Otherwise Muse would have ranked in the Top 10 with about $40 million gross from 35 shows during that period.

Will the 2013 chart include stadiums or just arena shows?

Further to the post above regarding the soon to be released Pollstar annual mid-year concert tour charts for North America and Worldwide:

Estimated Concert Grosses for the first six months of 2013 for several notable acts:

Rolling Stones $90 million for 18 arena shows in North America according to Billboard Boxscore. The legendary band also made $35.5 million for five shows late last year.

Muse $70 million for 52 shows including 14 stadium dates occurring in May and June. The Devon trio also made $20 million-plus from their 29 mostly arena shows in late 2012.

Pink $60 million-plus for shows at 56 venues according to Billboard Boxscore (Australia tour just beginning)

Depeche Mode $60 million for European arena and stadium concerts including six shows in Germany

Taylor Swift $50 million-plus for 33 concerts in North America but some stadium dates have not yet been reported

Robbie Williams $50 million for 9 stadium gigs in the UK and Ireland in June

Rihanna $30 million for 31 shows in North America

Beyonce $20 million for 14 concerts in Europe

Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Justin Bieber, the Killers, Green Day and One Direction should make the list too. Other artists such as Bruno Mars and Jay-Z/Justin Timberlake who are just about to begin their co-headlining tour should make the 2013 year-end touring charts compiled by Pollstar and Billboard.

Cautionary note about tour grosses:

"With normal contracts, the promoter promotes the concert and rents the venue. The act is usually paid a guarantee/fee, plus a percentage of the profit after the promoter has reached its breakeven point. The act foots the bill for the production of the concert and pays their booking agent and manager a percentage of their fee which can range from 10-20% for each party. Most acts end up with 25-35% of the concert's gross ticket sales before taxes. With a 360 deal, the artist and their partner share the profit at an agreed upon percentage after all the expenses have been paid. In Madonna's case, 90% goes to her and 10% to Live Nation."

Pollstar will definitely include estimates for the stadium shows for all artists in their year end 2013 charts. The 36 arena shows in North America and possibly the two arena shows in Japan for Muse should appear in the mid-year chart. If Pollstar does not include the stadium gigs, the concert data will present an incomplete and misleading picture of the actual grosses for bands such as Muse which generate a substantial portion of their concert grosses from such large venues.

Muse as expected ranks high on the touring chart for North America for the first six months of 2013. Click below for the details. The figures are based on concert grosses reported to Pollstar and "extensive research." The numbers and averages represent estimates and are not necessarily 100% actual grosses.

http://www.pollstarpro.com/files/cha...ricanTours.pdf

I am reluctant to link the comparable worldwide chart Pollstar just posted because it contains misleading estimated concert ticket sales for several artists. Muse actually grossed $70 million-plus for the 52 dates (including 14 stadium dates) ranking them at #5 just ahead of Justin Bieber and sold over 1 million tickets ranking them at #2 behind Bon Jovi. The numbers do not include the massive Stadio Olimpico Roma gig because it took place on 6 July.

Impact of the recent Torino and Roma gigs:

T2L is at #9 on the Italian album chart. Sales to date are estimated at 80 000.

http://www.fimi.it/classifiche_album.php

USA Sales update:

T2L 425k sold to date including about 2,000 units last week
Madness 1,439,000 sold to date

Follow Me has attained 180+ weekly spins ranking it currently at #42 on the Alternative chart compiled by Mediabase while both Madness and Panic Station are still getting over 600 weekly plays at rock radio.

Yep, with the exception of Spain and Netherlands, the 2nd Law Tour is going really well in terms of selling.

"Follow Me" debuts at #39 on the latest Billboard Alternative Songs Top 40 chart. It is the third track from The 2nd Law to chart. It is currently getting airplay at 25 rock radio stations about half the panel of stations monitored by Billboard and Mediabase for that format. "Madness" spent a record-setting 19 weeks at #1 while "Panic Station" peaked at #2. "Survival" just missed charting.

Very impressive six month ticket sales figures for Muse indeed!

The only artist with a larger attendance number for gigs taking place during the first half of 2013 was a band fronted by John Francis Bongiovi, Jr. Other megastar touring acts with Italian ancestry are:

Madonna (Ciccone)
Lady Gaga (Germanotta)
Bruce Springsteen (Zirilli)

i dont get your point !!

what do you want to say ??

why you mention the italian heritage of the acts '?

was your intention to say that ITALIANS DO IT BETTER theory ?
or is it a mystery that italian acts are the most successful ones ?

by the way MATT BELAMY could also have italian heritage

as belamy is an italian name

gelato, pizza, spaghetti, calzone, Muse !
