Yay, I saw Simon Price at the bar at the back of the standing section before the gig. I've been looking at the Indie the last couple of days to see when the review would appear. It's nice to see journalists getting out of London for a change!

Yep, it's a Nietzschean reference, the subjective ethics and morality of "supermen" being one of his themes. But the critic flubbed a bit: it should've been "we are Ubermenschen" (plural ending) or, in all-German, "Wir sind U...".

BTW, if FN could see the comic-book superhero inspired loosely by his concept, replete with tights, a cape, and his naive espousal of "the American way," he'd be spinning faster in his coffin than Chris Reeve did when drilling through a NYC sidewalk!
