Haven't been following this thread super closely but has anyone asked this? Why the fuck isn't Matt singing the best part of Unsustainable?!

Yeah, that's the biggest disappointment of the tour so far for me.

I absolutely adore that bit - along with the falsettos near the end of Supremacy, it's one of my favourite vocal parts of the whole album.

Disappointed me too. The part feels so empty too without the singing.

That drum fill, followed by Chris and Dom smiling was epic. They both knew it was fucking awesome, they couldn't hold it in.

I don't mind Matt strolling around with the mic, tbh I'm suprised he hasn't done it sooner.

Also the Bono comparisons are

Very disappointing muse, very disappointing.
I am going to see muse live for the first time this tour, in vienna. This has been a dream for me after all these years of seeing on youtube what an awesome band they are. But it seems they are trying hard to ruin this reputation, and I'll explain [B]my opinion[B] through a few factors:
1. The opener:
I think that there is no argument that the opener should get everyone going. Just see the crowds reaction to Unsustainable/Supremacy and the reaction to the Uprising in the previous tour- HUGE difference.
2. The songs that don't change:
Starlight? Really? TiRO? SBH? All songs are OK, not bad even, but a band like muse, with such a grand choice of epic songs chose to have those songs played e-v-e-r-y night? Starlight is boring, I dont think that anyone on this message board could say that this song touches/excites them in any way. On the other hand, the best song that used to be fixed on the set, hysteria, is rotating with MotP. If I'd want to see depeche mode live, i'd go and see them.
3. Songs from the new + previous CD's:
from the resistance, if they really think that UD is better than songs like MK ultra or unnatural selection, somethings wrong. Need to see it to believe? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x618Y78UD4o
From the 2nd Law, the fact that they are playing 9 songs from an album that has 4.5 good songs at best (again, in my humble but also widely shared opinion) kinda kills the set. Explorers=Invincible, both of which are boring. Follow me is a pop song remix, and anyone who can sing along the lyrics of survival without feeling awkward or in a boy scouts rally in a fascist country- I envy them. To be fair I must say that animals, panic station, liquid state (and also save me) are excellent songs.
4. Length and variety:
They play 21 songs every evening, two encores of two songs. If they are so stubborn on playing the same boring hits, at least lengthen your setlist, to give fans some hope of hearing a rare song they like. I think many people here would be happy to go to a show with a slight chance of seeing songs like assassin, hyper music, citizen erased, butterflies and hurricanes, the small print, thoughts of a dying atheist, city of delusion, this without mentioning songs from Showbiz. Radiohead plays 24 songs every night, Pearl Jam 29, why cant muse give the same value for money for their fans (much more important than the pyramids on stage and Pyro).

I'm sure I'll enjoy muse live, but I guess I was a few years too late from their peak. IMO its just downhill from here, and I'm saying this not as a critique (they can do what they want with their art) but really from a place of disappointment.

...what?

Now, I haven't read back on this discussion if that makes a difference but...what?

First off, Radiohead barely has a proper forum. Not that I've seen anyway.
Second, how would you know how much time these people spend on the Radiohead forum? Are you stalking them?
and third, the amount of time I spend on here has nothing to do with how much Muse satisfies me. Atm I love Ours, Tegan And Sara, Paramore, Jeff Buckley and Kaizers Orchestra a lot more. But these bands don't really have active forums, or I haven't seen the point in joining them.

It's strange logic, really. Seems to assume that A. you're only allowed to like one thing and B. completely misses the point, which is that there isn't really that much reason that they can't play longer 25-song setlists if a comparable big-ticket band can also play 25-song setlists. I mean, I'm not really sure that there is a halfway reasonable argument that that wouldn't be a good thing.
