When if ever will we see a Muse and Radiohead supergroup.. that would blow so many minds away, not least those of Matt and Thom.

Well the answer to when is obviously never.

And if they did...we'll have you listened to their output in the last 10 years? They probably wouldn't even be able to finish an album without breaking up.

Not that many great songs on it either tho.

I think they've pretty much settled on Knights now though, sadly. Doubt we'll ever see another song even rotated in for any substantial amount of time.

Let's be honest, there'd be at least one murder.

We've all seen how much Matt annoys his best friends in confined spaces, let alone Thom Yorke.

It wouldn't be the craziest of collaborations.. perhaps someday, probably never yes.
granted that there would be alpha male syndrome and it would probably take a decade to pump out an album if they don't give up or kill each other over whose falsetto is best.

The only songs I wouldn't call great are TSP (still a beast live), Toada and mayyybe FD (but I really really like it).

True, it was always a bit of a mess both vocally and instrumentally, but damn, that 16\4444 riff is huge.

You know the last (and only, tmk) time Thom spoke to one of them it nearly ended up in a fight almost instantly, right? And that was without Matt there, who I imagine is easily the most confrontational out of the 3.

FD? Wrong album there, bud

Only songs I'd are genuinely great on it are AP, Stockholm, Butterflies and RBS. Maybe Hysteria too. I wanna give Blackout a shout as well but that only became great live imo (well, before 2013 obvs).

Forgot to give Endlessly a shout actually, probs a bit better than Blackout. Only thing holding it back is that the organ solo/bridge bit sounds naff thanks to that Abso Production™ imo.

Muse has never had a mostly bad album in their discography.

The Resistance > Showbiz

Also, I miss Matt's blue hair.

On the topic of collaborations, do you think QOTSA or Josh Homme would consider collaborating in any way, or would that end in a fist fight?

It kinda would. Because not only has Thom shown a great distaste for Muse and pretty much publicly insulted them, but Muse have also spent countless interviews trying to clear themselves from Radiohead comparisons. They've actively stayed away from even mentioning them.

Oh and Matt didn't even like Kid A, Amnesiac and possibly HTTT, so I'm not sure which member of either band would actually even want to collaborate.

Whose falsetto is best would be the least of their concerns.

Whilst by no means one of my favourite Muse songs, TIRO (on the album) is a fantastic song imo. The heaviness of that 2nd verse
So yeah I'd probably included that in the 'great' songs off Absolution

Not that it's controversial but I don't get how you can be a Muse fan and not love most of Abso, unless you're a new fan who fell in love with T2L and TR.

SS, Hysteria, Endlessly, FAWY, RBS, B&H, Blackout and SFA are amazing imo.

There's just so much meh

TOADA, FAWY, TSP, TIRO, SFA...I can go through phases of one or two weeks where I particularly get into them but, other than that, I struggle to care much for them. And that's almost half the album.

Compared to OOS, BH&R or even Showbiz and Drones where there's only a couple of songs that I don't at least like.
