They claim a 12" radius, but that's bullshit. I got it back to a 16" compound. 16" 1st, 18" 12th, 20" at the bridge. It's going to be a real quick and comfortable neck in the upper register. Want me to do that style nut?

We never mentioned a material. If we have some brass that fits, lets go for that. Any particular reason, or just curiosity?

mainly curiosity. i did ask hooglebug to put a brass nut on the guitar he's building me, but that's because i want as much twang as possible

should be interesting in a heavier sounding guitar like this. (unless you think it's a bad idea!)

Just back from Elliott's shop. Wow. That dude builds a killer, killer guitar.

Bad news: turns out my Tonemaster won't be ready for another month or so
Good news: Taylor Swift's guitarist is getting a red glitter Tonemaster

He showed me one of each model he keeps around, as well as a custom Strat he just finished for a guy in the Netherlands - that thing was insane. The neck was one of the best I've ever played, it sounded and felt great, and Andy added a "voodoo" switch in the third knob which blends the pickups from out-of- to in-phase, which creates some really neat sounds. The Tonemaster sounded amazing and felt great, too. Couldn't be more pleased with what's heading my way.

All-in-all...

So, I'm leaving San Francisco, early December. I accepted a partnership offer, I now share ownership of OC Guitarworks down in Laguna Hills (Southern California).

Very well established shop. The current owner has 20-30 guitars on the shelf, works 60-70 hours a week and doesn't have time to advertise, start custom building, or anything past work work work.

I came down, showed him my repair work, brought a guitar I built, and chatted quite a bit. The shop is HUGE. We have the space, equipment, and are dealers of many companies.

This will be very interesting.

So is it mainly repairs or building?

Thanks Jim

Mainly repairs, I'll be heading the expansion into building. We have the tools, he just hasn't had the time or experience in production building.
