Yeah that's what I was referring to. It scans for a specific noise, and then will remove it. But it doesn't always work well.

And I'm not a fan of noise gates at all.

I might have to do the latter, especially since there's also that slight noise from the right hand muting the strings. It's just that they likely won't all be equal if I edit them out one at a time, but maybe it doesn't matter and it's my OCD speaking.

I can't really hear what the issue is as on my phone, but you could also consider using eq with automation, for a subtler effect.

Is this going in a mix?

Yeah, but I do know the guitar track from the original song has zero background noise during those parts though.
