It's happening to me quite often now. Sometimes the page just never fully loads past that screen I just posted and I just have to refresh it.

hmm well all it does is write an img tag to a page so that shouldn't halt loading and the place it halts loading isn't where the code is.

but anyway i've moved the code to the footer so it shouldn't even run until post js initialisation. let me know if you keep having problems

It kept happening to me yesterday, what would happen is it would load the first few segments of a page then freeze while it waits for the wmgmulti page. Had to refresh a couple of times before it'd continue and load the whole page (this was in the Banter thread).

I'm just going to block their domains in my hosts file or via my firewall or ABP or something. It's getting ridiculous when I try to use the board at home.

Would the board crap out if I blocked wmgbeaconcode.js via ABP in firefox Kev?

you'd get a couple of js errors if you did that, but hopefully nothing severe enough to halt js on the page.

have you had the problems still after erm half 11 ish last night? cos i moved the code to be the very last thing that runs on a page so it theoretically shouldn't be causing the same probs at all now

Actually nope, I logged off at about 10pm to watch the ace daftness that is Blade the series. I'll give it a try when I get home. Excellent, cheers.

Actually, set your browser to only accept cookies you explicitly allow.

Edit:
...and wmgmulti? I can't even see any references to that :/

Edit 2:
Oh, I have 2o7 blocked with iptables :P

/(\/|\.)(2o7|omniture)\.(com|net)\/.*/
Is it said that I'm squinting my eyes, trying to see boobies and half boobies in that code?

For reference I use vbulletin 3 skin. Kev's fix seems to have done it now, it looks like the wmgmulti is waiting till the page has loaded before transferring data

Indeed, 'tis all speedy and non-clogging now.

Top bombing Kev.

I have no idea, it was as though the wmgmulti server was running epicly slow and couldn't return the image in a timely fashion. It was weird, it seemed to try to download a different image, or the same image from a different place every time. I kept blocking it with Ad Block Plus but it kept trying to load it up again from a different URL.

Never mind, beef is now off the menu.

the url will always be slightly different cos it's reporting different data but the start of the url should always be the same. it's probably cos it's crappy old technology we have to use. hope we one day end up getting something good out of this or something :-/

Ah. I couldn't work out how to block the domain in ABP so I gave up before I went mad.
