Hmm, I like the idea and the work is really well done. But wouldn't it be better to have just the drop as it is the first time and instead edit the one at the end of the song? Feels like the strings kinda ruin the effect of the drop, while the ending just seems weaker than the previous "riff".

Yeah, completely agree! Thought I'd leave out the first drop to see if it could build up to something else but ended up sounding pretty weak.

Listened to the song another 20 times or so. Easily top 3 in The Resistance/The 2nd Law Era.

I'm going on the record right here and now saying this will be the best Muse album since OoS.

Edit: Then again the first two songs we heard from The Resistance were USoE and Uprising and I loved those two. Then they dropped GL and Resistance on me. Whatever fuck it, I'm sticking by what I said.

I thought I would like it more than I did because I assumed the dubstep part would be the most questionable thing in the song, and I didn't really mind that (although I'd be hard pressed to say I loved it), but the rest of the song kind of killed it for me.

The whole middle part is just so awkward to me. The change in rhythm, 10 seconds of wailing about nothing, and the screeching guitar stuff over the orchestral shenanigans might literally be the single worst isolated idea they've ever put into a song to me. No one thing about any other song of theirs I can think of bugs me more. It feels so tacked on.

EDIT: I actually like the section where the chick comes back well enough, I'm just talking about the previous thing there.
