This isn't some random arbitrary design. This is an image of the human brain! Someone didn't just paint a pretty colorful picture and think "I'm gonna make it look like yarn".

You don't like the design, take it up with whatever force (God, nature, evolution, the flying spaghetti monster, whatever) you believe created your (and everyone else's) brain.

This isn't just directed at you, but at everyone who's complained (and likely will keep complaining) because they don't like the shape or the colors or whatever.

Huh? Google image search just works like any other search, by finding and linking content in other sites. The pictures in most cases are still the property of someone so copyright issues definitely are a factor.
Was just a joke anyway.

I like the image, but I do not like the maroonish background.

Well it's a diagram. It's not what the brain really looks like, to state the obvious. The colours have been chosen by the the person who created the diagram, though granted this image seems to include a reference to the spinal cord.

I know it's a diagram. The caption to the photo indicates that it's "white-matter fiber architecture of the brain".

The point remains that this wasn't some drawing made specifically for the album art, which is what some people are treating it like.

I agree. I like it, especially since I'm into science. Since "T2L" is not on the front, will it be on the side or back, if at all? I forgot how albums like that are organized.

A bit different when we were all expecting angry robots ... or was that just me?
Love it though. Simple enough to be easily recognisable, but still complex and pretty damn cool looking

I bet the Human Connectome Project is going to be stoked to have its work more publicized now that it's on a major rock band's album cover.

I thought this was a cool image on the page that lists the principal investigators for the project......looks like angel wings.

I like it. It's simple, striking, and has an interesting backstory.

It also looks a little insane, which seems appropriate based on what we've learned so far about the album.

I wonder if it relates to any themes from the album. A song about thermodynamics of the brain doesn't seem likely, but maybe there's some other connection to the brain.
