Best use of the choir is over the top of "Fight, Fight, Win, Win etc", gives the song a bit of ancient greek / almost gladitorial grandure rather than the weird Queen-ness of the "Ah ah ah ah" and "So I've told you" or whatever's being said.

Better than IBTY, UD, Resistance and GL, only debate from me comes from those god awful lyrics.

Do have to agree with that, even with my personal anti-choir…thing.
I don't really mind the choir in the weird ah ah ah ah part, either, tbh, except that I don't really care for that part at all (the piano is fun there imo). The choir in everywhere else does annoy me lots.

Also dunno if I have mentioned this here or not, but I absolutely ADORE Matt's voice here.

edit: listening to it one more time. I think it's not even the actual choir part that annoys me nearly as much as that soprano shrieking her head off. Cannot fucking stand it. Which is odd since…I love it when Matt shrieks.

I'm still loving it. I wasn't so sure last night when I was tired and I listened to it again. Could be a bit too full on when tired, but this morning, love it again. I'm not going to say anything stupid like it's the best they've done. Of course it's not, but very enjoyable nevertheless. I like the quirkiness of it. And I'm starting to get more of a connection to the feeling of it. It does have something slightly dark and powerful about it which I didn't get immediately.

Also the lyrics which appear pretty obvious and cheesy at first listen contain oddities that don't quite fit the theme of the Olympics. So even though written with the Olympics in mind I think there may be purposeful ambiguities which means the song could relate to other situations.

The song keeps presenting little discoveries.

And I think it will fit in with the theme of the album. It's kind of the USoE of the album I think.

Unless I've missed something, Survival hasn't been confirmed to be on T2L yet. People have said that in the interview someone said Survival was the 'most OTT song, the only one of its kind on the album' (owtte) but after listening to the interview twice all I heard was

We definitely tried a bunch of new things and that trailer sort of gives a glimpse of that, I mean there's only one song like that, where we've obviously tried to do what RATM did with hip hop ... there's really only that one song like that you know the rest of the album is very very diverse

Maybe some people thought they were talking about Survival when they were actually talking about Unsustainable? Idk I kept zoning out while listening so maybe I have missed something really obvious.

Then again, he said to Zane the "other track you've heard is what's going to be the main single" so idkkk

I really like Survival as an Olympics song but on the album...
