For god's sake, I bought Vespertine today. It'll probably be up there on my list, too.

It seems a bit pointless to me to have albums that were only voted by one person, perhaps a top 50 would have been better. But, since it's up there already, where is my Sleater-Kinney album artwork?

I thought a top 100 would be interesting, but problematic, hence my lack of effort in presenting 100-70.

Erm.........I found some artwork but it was way too big

60. Portishead - Third (2008)

It is their first release in 10 years, and their first studio album in eleven. Third entered the UK Album Chart at #2, and became the band's first-ever American Top 10 album on the Billboard 200, reaching #7 in its entry week. By October 2008, it had sold more than 1.5 million copies.

In Australia, the album debuted at number 19.[8] It has sold 166,000 copies to date.

It received very positive reviews, with an average of four to five stars of five. It was one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2008.

The album was widely acclaimed, receiving spots on critics' end-of-the-year lists, as well as several awards.

The Music For Nations release came in two formats: jewel case with 10 tracks, and digipack with 13 tracks. Unlike normal special editions, the 13-track version's bonus tracks are in the middle of the album, apparently forming the "true" album as the band intended it. The SPV release contains a bonus EP with four additional tracks (all previously released) and videos of two songs from the original.

The record garnered much critical acclaim upon its release, and went on to win a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2004.

The record is also available as a vinyl LP with a free MP3 download coupon.

The song 'Analyse' is featured in the ending credits of the film, The Prestige.

52. Sigur Rós - Með Suð í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust (2008)

All the lyrics for the album were originally intended to be in English, but in the end the band decided that Icelandic felt more natural to them. Some lyrics were translated back into Icelandic, while some songs got completely new texts. It is the band's first album to feature a track sung in English ("All Alright"). The first track on the album, "Gobbledigook", premiered on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 music show in the UK on May 27, 2008. "Festival" was premiered on Colin Murray's Radio 1 show on June 3, 2008.

In general, the music continues Sigur Rós' departure from their generally ethereal and minimalist music, being (as the title and cover suggest) more playful and fanciful than their early work, featuring more traditional guitar melodies, acoustic instrumentation, and folk-oriented compositions following in the vein of their later albums.

The album produced five singles: "Dani California", "Snow ((Hey Oh))", "Desecration Smile", "Hump De Bump", and "Tell Me Baby". According to the band's vocalist Anthony Kiedis, Stadium Arcadium was originally scheduled to be a trilogy of albums each released six months apart, but was eventually condensed into a double album.

The record was critically praised for integrating musical styles from several aspects of the band's career. The album gained the band seven Grammy Award nominations in 2007 including an award for Best Rock Album. It was the most nominations that the band had garnered in their 25-year career. Kiedis attributed the album's success to less abrasive dynamics within the band, saying that the band's "chemistry, when it comes to writing, is better than ever. There was always a struggle to dominate lyrically. But we are now confident enough in who we are, so everybody feels more comfortable contributing more and more valuable, quality stuff"
