I really want an album full of banjos, and songs about snakes, cows and chewing tobacco

If it results in City Of Delusion coming back, I'm all for it.

Destroya 22-11-2016 11:55 AM

Acoustic tour pls

Tjet 22-11-2016 12:00 PM

For some reason the whole band seems to be in agreement that they don't sound good acoustically.

Which lines up perfectly with their desperate need to distract us from their music with lights.

I'd take an album of Aftermaths if it resulted in COD coming back, but we all know it ain't happening :chuckle: Well, the latter at least...

I'm honestly surprised some people have actually ended up lending credence to this acoustic talk. We all know it's smoke with absolutely no fire. It's either Matt just chatting shit or he's going through a phase that'll be over well before the next album comes out. Even ignoring the band's ridiculous history of not following through with pre-album talk, there's 0% chance a band that pretty much bases their entire act on bombastic stage productions is putting out even half an album of acoustic stuff :chuckle: Not to mention how self-conscious they are about crowd reactions.

Maybe they see coupling acoustic music with bombastic stage production as a groundbreaking move.

Seeing an acoustic guitar getting smashed is more visually entertaining than when it happens to an electric one. So bring on that acoustic tour. I hope Chris is learning to play the accordion.

Claudia O. 22-11-2016 09:20 PM

Let's say 2-3 songs with the accoutsic guitar, the rest rock? Won't happen...hm..2 accoustic bluesy songs, plus some electro stuff? as Rock was last album, like Matt said...I know, he says a lot when the day is long...

fabripav 23-11-2016 12:39 AM

One thing's for sure, it'll be a bad album.

Suq Madiq 23-11-2016 04:28 AM

It will be great if they write good and non-cheesy songs. I don't want a Muse album full of Songbird.

Tjet 23-11-2016 07:50 AM

"It will be great if they write good songs"

Quote of the day.

Which is why it won't be great.

Hey-hey, I'm back in this forum to find that it's just as optimistic as ever!

Honestly, I wouldn't mind more acoustic guitars being used in a new album. When Matt or Chris have pulled out the acoustic in the past, it has resulted in some pretty good tracks. Remember Soldier's Poem? Or City of Delusion? Or Hoodoo? Or, oh, here's a good one, Unintended? Yeah, those are all pretty beloved songs from what I understand, so I see no reason why the new album would suck apart from a bunch of pessimists hating on something just because it isn't Origin of Symmetry.

Give it a chance, guys. You may wind up liking it. :)
