Oo rant support. Love this job.

I love Bliss too, haven't seen it live (along with many things)

I've been waiting a while to say this bit.

Basically, during BH&R tour, all 4 albums were very much alive, with regulars and rarities from all the albums (Muscle Museum, Sunburn, Showbiz, Unintended maybe more).

But, during this tour, Showbiz has basically vanished. Cave and Unintended are the only ones left, and none of them are complete regulars. There are no rarities from this album.

Showbiz as an album died during this tour. And what I'm worrying, is that with a new album, the next oldest album will die. This is of course, the much loved Origin Of Symmetry.

t's alive now- New Born and Plug In Baby are regulars, with Citizen Erased and Bliss as rarities IIRC. I fear that come the next tour, these may all die.

Scary.

Plug in Baby will never die... Showbiz however... Maybe it's time for a comeback.

So that's the reason? Interesting.

I dont REALLY mind Showbiz going. Unintended has made the leap to stadium ballad okay, but Invincible is infinitely better, and Blackout better still.

There are some great songs, but the band clearly dont really like the album, i think Sunburn could be the exception to this.

If the other albums got enough attention, Showbiz fading wouldnt be a huge issue I dont think. Songs like Hyper Music, The Small Print, Sing for Absolution could be great still.

meh, its all been said, who cares.

Showbiz fading IS a huge issue for obvious reasons.

The fact that Sunburn was only played 2-3 times this tour is nothing short of stupid, though for some reason I can't help but think they'll play it in Australia.

I wish it would.

"Half-assed" would be a good way to describe this tour. I wouldn't be surprised if that same mindset carries over to their next tour.

I'm not from Europe or went to Euro gigs but the setlist-polls was a joke!

Damn right it was a joke. And it was a bad one at that.

Management: "Let's let the fans vote for songs this summer!"

Muse: "YEAH!"

*fans vote*

Management: "Oh, they voted for songs that weren't on the last two albums."

Muse: "Fuck the fans, they'll keep paying to see us anyway. They are already butthurt from the screwing we gave them with the Asian setlists. I'm sure they won't feel as much pain if we screw them again."

Management: "Yeah, you're right. Do what you want.... OH! But make sure you make an effort for the last night at Wembley. That should make things alright again!"

Muse: "Fine."

If the next album isn't heavy and does not display sheer destruction or old school muse then I will not be attending any gigs

ExogenesisP1 30-10-2010 10:55 PM

^^^ Yeah rite. Kings Of Loen have released their new album, and Iíve just been reading some of the reviews; seems it's not that popular. People have said that itís too mainstream. Letís hope The Resistance is the closet Muse will get to mainstream land.

MattXXI 30-10-2010 10:56 PM

Something less elaborate I'm sure. I feel like they got it out of their systems this time, hopefully this long break will help.

I'm not nearly as bitter as you are about this, but I would say you are right about this tour being half-assed (also illogical and unfair). That said, I'm hopeful that a nice long break will make their next tour better. OPTIMISM!!

And tagline for this thread should be a quote from wiser men - "I've got a bad feeling about this..."

Hopefully a classical album would mean they have an orchestra (or at least a few string musicians; c'mon, Placebo have done it...) at their gigs and therefore they'd be able to play Exo, Blackout and Hoodoo regularly. Which would be amazing.

As much as a I like their heavy rock songs, a more classical-based setlist would be :awesome:
