Same here, most people in my family smoke (basically all the men and my aunt), it's quite annoying as it gets smelly and makes my eyes all red and after a while I start crying. One of my mates at uni was a heavy smoker and also addicted to coffee. After every lecture she had to smoke and drink coffee, it was so bad that she was already smelling like cigarettes and coffee, nasty mixture. Addictions are really a problem... I'm quite thankful that I don't seem to get addicted easily.
Oh my, tomorrow I'll be back at work. My best friend in boring Jena wants to make scones with me next week. Looking forward to it, we'll probably be singing on her balcony again, our neighbour secretly loves us, I'm sure about it. Usually we always make pizza when we're at her's, now we want to move on to scones, that's real progress!

My town is rather boring in general. We have that Irish pub which is really cool but expensive. I guess, they really have to import Guinness, Kilkenny, Strongbow Cider, Whiskey and all that typical stuff which makes the drinks so expensive. But I really like the live music and the atmosphere in that pub. Last summer they even had a pretty good U2 cover band playing there on one night, was great! Then there's one Mexican bar, pretty good as well. They have those Margarita Happy Hours when you get every Margarita for just 1,50 Euros! They look so chemical, neon green, neon red, pink, neon blue. Nobody knows what they put in there but the colours are really pretty, lol. For dancing there are only 2 rather boring r 'n' b/hip hop clubs, one techno club and one metal club. Sometimes there are those special 80s parties in one club, they're cool!
I've always been a non-smoker as well. Some of my friends smoke but only one of them is a heavy everyday smoker. I avoid getting drunk, at one point in your life you usually know your limit when it comes to alcohol. Oh my, I saw too many girls puking at campus parties, not a pretty sight... My neighbour here is very annoying when he gets drunk, he once knocked at my door and rang my doorbell around 3am. Quite embarassing...and he's 30 years old, he should know better...

"Open Water" wasn't bad, quite interesting. I don't like real horror movies, I mean, no bloody or gory stuff, that just scares me and makes me feel physically bad. I can't watch stuff like "Hostel" or "Saw". But I like films like "The Exorcist", less torture and more suspense. But I was a bit disappointed that "Open Water" didn't really have sharks in it, I love sharks, they always look pissed off or annoyed, love them. LOL
Usually I really like my pupils, most of them are really cool. I mainly teach the older classes, ages 16 to 18/19. But those girls last year were just something else. I guess, it's just a phase and they made each other even worse. You know, one hysterical girl wouldn't have done it on her own, I think (the camping). But 3 hysterical fan girls together can get this kind of idea. Whatever they were hoping for??? It probably only pissed off their families.
Next week I want to go to our Irish pub again. My colleague and me like the Tuesday evening there, there's always live music on Tuesdays, mainly Irish folk.

Oh wow, already in November??? That's pretty soon, yes!!! I don't go to the cinema too often, used to go every month when I was still at uni. Nowadays I go maybe twice a year. But I'll definitely go and see the Potter movie.
Yes, it's so annoying, the hormonally challenged fangirl monsters. As a teacher I have to deal with it from time to time. Last year there were 2 totally crazy Tokio Hotel fangirls in my class, the squealing about magazine articles or posters, them travelling to their hometown and camping in front of their houses. Oh my, some teachers had to talk to their parents as they were absent from school for a week because of their camping holidays. But they'll gow up and feel silly one day. Well, I like seeing Simon Neil but I'll enjoy it quietly, lol.
Tonight I'll watch "Open Water" with a friend. Sharks and other creepy things in the ocean! We'll have sushi with it, should be fun!

LOL, yep, computers can be vicious sometimes! I don't care enough about mine, I only blow or wipe off the dust fwith a towel from time to time. But yes, I should use some cleaning stuff.
Funny that you mentioned Kings of Leon! I went to their gig in Berlin last year, it wasn't awful but it wasn't exciting either. I liked the albums "Because of the times" and "By the night". The singer/guitarist didn't move at all, he didn't even move his head, he looked a bit terrified up there. The crowd just seemed to be there to spend a night out, nobody seemed to be a fan. The crowd went a bit wild for "Sex on fire", apart from that it was nothing special, just a nice night out. They don't seem the kind of band who attracts crazy fan behaviour.
Exactly my thoughts, 30STM have one or 2 nice songs on the first and second album, the new album is utter crap. My friend who likes them went to some gigs and was royally annoyed by the crazy fan girls. I don't think, she'll go to another gig. Some girls should lean to control their hormones a bit better, lol. It can really get annoying when it's too much fangirling...
I hope, the last 2 Harry Potter movies won't be too long apart from each other. I've only read the book once but I hope, I'll remember the important stuff.

Cool, I like "Gone" as well. The singer's voice is really great, I really want to see them live. They play gigs in my region quite often as they're the local band but somehow I always miss them. I should pay more attention to posters hanging around in town.
I know what you mean, either you like Molko's voice or you hate it. I've seen them live 3 times since 2003, they're a good live band. I love their forst 4 albums, the latest 2 albums have been a bit boring, I think. I have a deal with my best friend, I go to Placebo gigs with her, she goes to Muse and Biffy gigs with me (in Germany). She also likes 30 Seconds to Mars and I don't know why, I don't like them at all.
Last night I saw the teaser for the new Harry Potter movie!!! I guess, you'll get to see it earlier over there. I can't wait and I hope, they'll show it in English again. I don't like synchronized movies and watching TV or movies in English is a great way to practice or improve foreign languages.

I like the songs, especially "Love will tear us apart" and another one I can't remember right now. I really love Youtube, lol!
Yep, it's more for metal heads, I think. The only metal I like is stuff like Metallica, Nightwish or Within Temptation. The latter 2 are more like "opera metal" with nice melodies and lyrics, and great voices. But lately I rarely listen to them.
It's a bit weird with gigs sometimes. Last winter I saw Placebo in Leipzig with my best friend, she's a big fan but was too lazy to do the crazy queuing (it would have been to cold anyway). So we showed up at the arena only 1 hour before the show and could get close to the stage without any problems. Really weird, their fans aren't too crazy, I guess. Or it was just Leipzig, no idea. Was a very cool and rather quiet crowd, o pushing, no moshpits. Just people dancing and singing.
Enjoy your Northern Lite listening session on Youtube!

    Hey!
Oh, you'll have to tell me how you like Northern Lite. They're cool, I like the singer' voice. My friend gave me 3 of their albums and I definitely want to go to a gig. I'll check out Interpol, sounds like something I could enjoy. I only know 2 or 3 songs by Joy Division but some of my fiends like them.
Yes, Rammstein are really famous and even moreso abroad, I think. My Portuguese friend likes thm a lot and has all of their albums. From my German friends only one girl is into them and goes to their gigs. I like some of their songs but not many. Most lyrics are just too sexual or too violent for me, don't really like the singer at all, don't like his voice and he actually scares me, lol. I think, they care too much about the show, the scary/shocking effects. Do you like them? I saw 3 or 4 Rammstein shirts at Wembley.

OK. Beatsteaks sound a bit like The Hives, Arctic Monkeys or Mando Diao. You could check out "Hand in hand" or "Hello Joe". Northern Lite are more like Depeche Mode or The Editors. Good songs are "Liar", "Enemy", "Super black", "Girl with a gun" or "I don't remember". You can probably find them all on youtube. Those are the only German bands I like, in general I'm just not really interested in German bands.
I keep on hearing about Interpol, need to check them out on youtube.

I still prefer Madonna, she's much cooler than Lady Gaga, lol. At least her older songs, the 80s stuff up to "Frozen" was really good pop music. Who knows if Lady Gaga will be around longer and will make another successful album.
The 90s were pretty good, I liked Pulp a lot. Jarvis Cocker's solo albums are good as well, I love his lyrics! "Fat children took my life" and "Don't let him waste your time" are true words of wisdom! Honestly, that guy's a genius. But then there were those annoying boy and girl bands in the 90s, and all that techno crap and Euro Dance, that was hard to take!
Do you know some erman bands? I like the Beatsteaks, they're cool (they sing in English). Northern Lite aren't bad either, a bit more electronic and darker. They're actually from my region, the local band.
