6 episodes and it has finished. But on Garth's website, it mentions that over 50 episodes were made originally so i hope we'll be seeing at least one more series :)

That's probably a spoof. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll make another series.

Fantastic programme though.

Sources point to a DVD realease on the 22nd of October.
The best thing about it is the interviews and the poor cutting.
I've got some episodes downloaded, so fucking superb.

Man, that program was awesome

I remember the days when it used to be Garth Marenghi, followed by Peep Show, followed by old Jackass (when it was funny).

Best Friday's ever  .

Lmao, hilarious in so many ways. Here are just a few things that made me giggle

"I'll just leave you here by this air vent"
"So that's water for you two, I shall not have water, I shall have coffee instead" (or something to that effect)
I love how Liz's eyes are streaming with excessive makeup IMMEDIATELY after she's been insulted, hahaha
Lucien's voice
The overdubbing
In the DVD extras with the extra interviews, Dean Learner says how he threw half of the Darkplace footage into the Thames when his house was raided by police.
"Slow motion is used to pad out the episodes"
There are loads of other silly little instances but yeah anyway

I love Darkplace :D
We taped the entire series when it was shown (psychic vision maybe that the official dvd would take forever) and I swear we wore them out re-watching them again and again.

The first time I watched this was at about 1 in the morning when they repeated them on Channel 4, and I din't like it, but after watching a couple of episodes I realised how funny it was. The script writing is genius, along with all of the things BOD pointed out.

"It's because of women like you that this chicken is late in the first place"

"She was like a candle in the wind... unreliable."

"With this show, I wanted people to laugh and cry... and shit themselves all at the same time."

I know how crap it is to just quote things, but they make me laugh.

lmao I love that. And when he's reading from his book - "Maggots. Maggots? Maggots. Maggots, maggots, maggots." And when he's talking about blood coming out of this woman, he says "and sick and shit and piss" or something.

I love the chicken bit, the REALLY bad composition and camera work, terrible positioning of characters, and Steve Merchant's brilliant in it.

There's also a spin-off 'chat show' called Man to Man with Dean Learner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_to_Man_with_Dean_Learner). It's pretty funny.

I remember a rumour about a potential Garth Marenghi film (possibly the one we see clips from in the first Man to Man episode?) a while ago. It would be amazing if they did one.

Has anybody watched the DVD with the commentary tracks switched on? It's hilarious to hear Garth and Dean's responses whenever Todd Rivers criticises the show. Even if we don't have a second series, being able to watch it all over again with new dialogue by those three makes up for it.

The commentary is awesome. I think I've watched this Dvd inside and out by now! It's such a shame they didn't carry on.
Everything about it is classic.

"He whisked off her shoes and panties in one movement, wild like an enraged shark, his bulky totem beating. A seductive rhythm. Mary's body felt like it was burning, even though the room was properly air-conditioned. They tried all the positions: on top, doggy, and normal. Exhausted, they collapsed on to the recently extended sofa bed. Then, a hellbeast ate them."
