Then last night my sister remembered one line and we found the rest of the lyrics. Then i just heard the song In The Shadow on radio1 ^_^. Any fans here?

I think that they are quite good. I've been following their career since 1997 (they started 1995). band´s name was first rasmus but when they singed to swedish playgroundmusic, they had to change the name so it became the rasmus. at beginning of their career they played funkrock and were underground band, but when they went to sweden, genre changed to pop. now they are little bit harder but not enough. for more information: www.therasmus.com

there is the odd pish tune, but thats par for the course. track one is good. there is a wee bit whcih reminds me of IYW. the production is good. some eary gothic melodic tunes.

not really. Some pop rock acts can be fun. I find that the Rasmus's songs don’t have the same enjoyment factor after you've listened to them more then a few times though. However, Lauri's voice and accent is nice. And the way they mix heavy power cords with abba like sing along rhymes is interesting, and deserves a little attention. The one thing I can say is that at least Lauri’s songs are personal, Each song being more like a letter to someone then a musical poem. And the band do know who they are, they know what they’re aiming for. And apart from their new goth look that has been given to them since they expanded out into the uk. I’d say they did well at creating something fairly different. Even if it doesn’t really appeal to me

This is crazy. Saw the pic and that is definitly not the Rasmus I'm refering to. We have a band with the same name and the same hit single in South Africa. Now I've heard about pirating music, but copying an entire band is just crazy:eek: . My most humble apologies:$ , guess South Africa really is the crime capital of the known universe. I've just been having a nose around The Rasmus forum and noticed both your posts in the Muse thread. It's really lovely to see so much love for Muse from people on another bands forum.
It did make me laugh about Matt in Australia saying that people in their mid 30's/40's are most sexy...Good news for me then! :LOL:

I acquired Dead Letters about 4 months ago and loved it, I bought Hide from the Sun the other day and I would say that it's on the same par! I keep hearing that their earlier stuff is better so I'll have to have a listen. I will be buying their other albums for sure though. :D

I think I'm still a fan, but... they feel so forced now. :S I like their old music better, at least back then they were more like themselves and didn't try to fit into that 'dark and depressing' mold that a bunch of Finnish bands seem to have.

I don't think their music is brilliant, but they entertain, and that's part of music's goal, isn't it? Plus I got to meet them personally, and they were a bunch of sweethearts. Maybe they're not the best band on earth, but when it comes to human quality they rock. I guess that's what keeps me tied to them.

Finnish music has always been like that, it has just become mainstream lately (as in finnish bands getting famous outside their home country), thus spawning lots of crappy melancholic goth bands.
