Well, it had to go with the picture. Not exactly sure black text would look so good, and anything else (orange, red, etc.) just doesn't look right. Blues and whites were really the only options to go with if they wanted that picture to look good.

I'm so envious of Beibi's skills, like, how in the world do you mix those images so well? I use GIMP sometimes and I'm the kind who relies a lot on custom brushes and know nothing much about intricate effects and details. Plus I have a library of custom fonts. :LOL: I really like those that you did, my favorite being the one for The Resistance. Though I'm not so keen on the two that you posted a few pages back. It didn't evoke as much feelings as it did seeing the weird distorted tree or something for The Resistance one. I felt there was a much more deeper significance as to the crows, the ground and stuff like that.

In fact, I'd swap The Resistance one for The 2nd Law, while the one with the gas mask with The Resistance. I think they fit better that way. :happy: Good job anyways, still jealous!

I see your point but the OoS is cover 'cartoony', for example, yet I find it to be one of their darkest albums (certainly not comic). I think the cartoon quality is more coincidental considering there's supposed to be a deeper, underlying meaning to covers like Origin and The Resistance.

I'm using Photoshop, and apart from the obvious photo-montage all I do is colour adjustments :)

I guess the TR cover is more shocking because of all the work was made on it, but I don't think the ones for The 2nd Law are less interesting, they have a lot of meaning, but considering some comments I'm not sure if I captured it too well?. The gas mask is the more obvious one, it represents how the society is feeling right now: vulnerable, trapped, naked, asphyxiated... And in the second one, she is like a Venus, as if she were born from oil, representing how much dependency we have of it... not sure if I'm making any sense :LOL:

Who said people are trying to compete with an art major? Surely if people wanted to showcase a real piece of artwork the last place they would do it is some band's message board. You wouldn't go to a 5 year old playing arts and crafts and tell him his existence is worthless. There's a difference between people trying out shit on photoshop in a Muse thread compared to people taking pictures in black and white and telling people at every starbucks in the area they're a professional artist.

I think this one might almost be better if it just had the Muse logo in a corner and no other writing on it. Leaves room for the robot eyes to stare into your soul. I like it.

2) The rings don't show nearly as much.
3) For some reason, it reminds me of Showbiz, how the light is peeking through the A.

I'm just being moody because essentially all Muse have just done is post a picture from another website and said it's the artwork. The only difference being the background. I'll get over it once Muse has given some kind of explanation. ;) I'm sure there's more to it than that, it's just what it seems like.

Funny actually, I don't really care that much that it isn't 'genuinely' their own art. I'm just like, if it looks good, I'm cool with it. If it's ugly, too bad. And I think it looks pretty cool, probably because I learned a bit about the working of the brain last year.
Not sure what else Muse could elaborate about the artwork, but we'll see :).
