Am thinking of this as an alternative to Paris, coz OH is being stubborn about midweek gigs. But I'm bit nervous about going on my own - apart from anything else, I don't speak Spanish, so would be hopeless!

Though I don't live in Madrid, I'm Spanish, and I have moved by tube several times there...And I really can tell you that Madrid's Metro (tube) is really intuitive and easy! Cleon_girl has shown you the page, just take any line to reach Goya Station (lines 2 and 4) or O'Donnell (line 6)

Hey, Midnight26, I have a question for you :)

Is it safe to get the tickets printed at the ATMs of La Caixa? I mean, is that the regular way to get tickets, or should I get them shipped with insurance (+13€ )?

Obviously I'm not Spanish, that's why I'm asking you. Thanks in advance.
Saludos charros ;)

Midnight26
13-06-2012, 12:05 AM
Mmmm...I've always picked up my tickets in Carrefour or El corte inglés, I mean, asociated shops with ticketmaster, but as far as I know, a lot of people get their tickets at the ATMs of La Caixa.
Some of them complain about the tickets...cuz they aren't as nice as the shipped or hand bought ones, hahahaha, but they are as authentic and useful as the others.
(And with nice I mean they aren't less prettier than the others, they are like these:

http://www.chochitopelao.com/imagenes/otros/entradas_muse_01.jpg
I don't know that guy... by the way, haha)

So, yeah, of course you can. In fact, in a muse spanish forum quite a lot of people get their tickets at ServiCaixa, so... if you wanna save those 13€, ServiCaixa is a good option! ;)

Sorry if I've messed up a little bit!:$

ps. Charros? Hahahaha! Nice you know about charros...but, though i'm studying here, I'm from the beautiful Extremadura!

How long should I queue to get a good place in standing: hours, days? I thought about beeing there in the morning, but I don't know :$

Beibi
13-06-2012, 10:09 AM
In my first gig (2006) we started queuing at midday and we got front row, but I think that's impossible now. But if you just want a good place being there early in the morning should be enough.

You never know with these new musers, tho, there were people queuing for three days at Vicente Calderon.

Depends. The one ive been to in Madrid (calderón), I arrived when they were opening the doors and people just weren't queuing (besides maybe a few who wanted to get 1st row). We got 3rd or 4th row, and didn't have to fight, push or anything. We even stopped to take a few pics at the back when we got in. People just weren't interested in the big pink opening.
Pretty cool, if you ask me, I hate queuing. I'd never sleep in there to get a spot.

p.s.: oh, le twilight musers... hope they don't include neutron star collision on the setlist this time.

I'm off to Madrid (again)! Nosebleed tickets, but never mind.

The standing section last time at Palacio was packed - it looked pretty scary from my position in the balcony. There were several queues to get in, such as the long one snaking past El Corte Ingles, but everyone was very mellow.

Am thinking of this as an alternative to Paris, coz OH is being stubborn about midweek gigs. But I'm bit nervous about going on my own - apart from anything else, I don't speak Spanish, so would be hopeless!

Is this venue easy to get to via public transport?

The metro is just like the London underground, but cheaper and air conditioned, and the arena is less than 400m from three different stops. The district is full of expensive shops (think Kensington or Knightsbridge), so the hotels around there are not good value - there's better to be had elsewhere. A metro ticket from the airport to the city centre is 4.50 euros. The weather shouldn't be too bad at that time of year...

I had beed trying to buy tickets since 09:30 this morning (the usual - crash, blocked, too busy etc etc)...

However, being persintent I managed to buy four seating tickets together (about an hour ago) through Ticket Master. When the system says the seats are booked, it could be that someone's in the process of buying them, but with online security these days they may not get card verification and so in a matter of minutes, the seats are available again! So keep trying!!

Can't wait, this will be my first MUSE gig!

Hello,

The selling process as a whole has been a complete Joke. There was a pre-sale on Tuesday and it seems that the majority of standing tickets were sold that day.

Today, standing tickets were available for about 5 minutes. People are sad, frustrated and feel abandoned. Not everybody wants to be seated or wants to pay a premium price.

AFTER being sold out, several sites still offered VIP tickets (for 170 euros) which came out about 50 at a time, sold out and were made available again.

People feel cheated.

That, many more reasons and that there is only ONE gig for TWO countries (Portugal) moved us to create an Hashtag on Twitter a few hours ago.

#WeNeedMoreGigsInSPAIN (http://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/%23WeNeedMoreGigsInSPAIN)

Right now, we have more than a thousand tweets complaining about the situation and asking muse to either give us a new gig or move to a bigger location.

It would be great if you could help and spread the word.

Thanks!

Jordi.

It's a shame that it has been sold more tickets in the presale than in the official sale. They have played more times in Spain, so they should have known this would happen and should have make an effort in organizing it better. It's been a nightmare >_<

I have been all this morning trying to buy some tickets to the gig, the ticketmaster web was collapsed, the FNAC server have opened with 15 min delay, and other shops with 1 hour delay, so I consider that in this way is almost impossible to have a ticket.

the sale today was a total disaster, I can't believe I couldn't get a ticket yet... They disappeared really fast even with servers and pages collapsed, is that normal? NO. There was an awful organization and it was a cheat, the ticket servers sold almost every tickets before the official sales without any control...
I'm really annoying with all that stuff and I think it's really unfair so many fans who will be out of the concert because of that and there're hundreds of tickes on resales with exorbitant prices
this is a joke...

The last time they played here in Madrid, they already exceeded the capacity of the venue, and they had played in Barcelona days before, and they had a gig in Portugal the day after.

Playing just one gig in the whole peninsula at Palacio de los Deportes which capacity is around 15.500 people (Palau San Jordi is 24.000) is... well, I'm not sure what are they thinking, really. If we add to all of this the poor organization by Live Nation, having three different presales and no leaving almost tickets for the official sale day, we can conclude the whole thing has been a total disaster.

The venue is much more smaller (such a shame, those guys know how to put on a great show on big ones) and the response of the fans on the buying ticket thing has been overwhelming, so I assume this time people will be more... uhm... competitive?

Thanks!

Jordi.

It's such a mess. First, the presale on here, then the disinformation, ... I totally understand those feeling frustrated.
Just seen a guy on twitter offering a couple of seated tickets for 75€ each. They didnt even last 5 mins on his hands.
I hope next time they do things better with the (pre)sales.

I must admit 3 gigs in France but 1 in Spain seems a bit harsh. I'd rather the 3 were in Spain.
Ive seen someone around complaing about "only 3 gigs in France". Oh, well... seems it's never enough.
What I think: they will come back. Definitely. They always do. Probably a gig or two more both in Portugal and Spain.
I expected it to be nuts, which is why I tried to ensure my tickets asap. I mean... last time in Santiago it was 25000 tickets and got sold out in about half an hour. And it was a festival: more bands expected people may not like (only Jonsi was confirmed along, and he's not much popular around here, so...no, people didn't buy the tickets to see him), less time for muse than in a normal gig and definitely not his usual show (I mean...they didnt have their stage and all). Still, the response to the announcement was overwhelming as well, and they had already played in madrid, bcn and portugal (it was one of the last of the resistance tour gigs), so what did they/we all expect?
I feel bad for all those who can't find tickets, and I know it's not much of a consolation but they'll come back. Maybe next time, when they do a 2nd round. Be steady.

p.s.: those of you trying to find tickets, be very careful who you trust. Everyone wants some so there are always those who will try to take advantage.

Does anyone already bought a "premium golden ticket" in other occasion and may share the experience? I´m trying to buy a ticket for Madrid but it says "sold out" in every single space on regular tickets so im thinking on buying a premium golden ticket...i cannot believe they´re not coming to Portugal and so...if Madrid is the way...then "Hala Madrid" :):):):)

I'm not camping either, but this time I might go a few hours before, as soon as I get to madrid that day. The venue is much more smaller (such a shame, those guys know how to put on a great show on big ones) and the response of the fans on the buying ticket thing has been overwhelming, so I assume this time people will be more... uhm... competitive?

As this is my first time in Madrid I am sightseeing on the 19th with a mate plus having a bit of a lie in so I can Q from around lunchtime. I am happy being in the middle of standing really. Well ok I love barrier but need to pee every time.
Oh and you can't really please everyone though sometimes I wish they could.

A lot of the golden/ VIP tickets have seats really high up and behind a glass screen, which seems a bit isolated from the whole experience. The seat map on Livenation looks like this is the case for P de los D.

I think that's because that stage was very high, if the crowd were closer the first rows would see nothing.

My biggest concern was that the standing area was crowded all the way to the back - there was no space to get a bit of air or even move around if things got too intense at the front.

I heard from friends that it was fine down there, though - no one behaving badly. They might even enforce the smoking ban this time. I could just make out the 'No smoking' sign hanging from the ceiling through the fug and the security guy next to us chain-smoked his way through the whole thing.

Hello,

for those who have already used the Servicaixa atms system, is there a deadline ?, i should arrive in the beginning of the afternoon of the show in Madrid , so i am not sure to be able to use this system if there is "an 8 hours before the show" limit.

If not, i should try to the venue, as far i remember, down the stairs, on the right, there is LiveNation-ticketmaster (same company) offices ?

Did you get your confirmation email well formatted (using the Livenation.es presale) ? mine was a little bit scrambled . Mine got some characters like "STKLVN..." in the confirmation reference, but the email came from "compra@ticketmaster.es" and the money went for Ticketmaster.

If you live outside Spain, I think they give the option to get the tickets sent to your house. At least I read that when I bought mines but I chose the option to pick them in the cash machine service.

Hello,

they gave me this option through the presale, but the separated payment went wrong (very strange, it was ok few minutes for the show, but for the postage option, not !!!!). I wasnt able to try again, so i suppose the ticket will be "waiting" inside one of the cash machine. hoping there is no deadline ! ( i have seen ticket should be taken 8 hours before the show, then after, well, i dont know, at the venue i suppose)

Picking them at the box office was apparently another ot the options you could choose.

I'm picking them up at the box office (to the right of the main entrance and down some stairs), but there was a strange separate payment of 3 euros minimum. Bizarre that they didn't take the payment at the same time. I was worried that my credit card company would block the second transaction: a small payment over the internet is the sort of thing that thieves try after stealing your details.

Do you mean a 'Tabacos' shop? I use them to buy stamps... :p

According to Google maps there's one on the road at the back of the arena, i.e. on the east side. Look for the junction of Calle de la Fuente del Berro (south side, No 41) and Calle de Jorge Juan.

The decent price/quality hotels in that area (Salamanca, Recoletos) are booking out fast.

Retiro Park (Parque del Buen Retiro) is free and good for strolling around in. It's usually pretty busy on a Sunday morning - lots of trees and seats and shrubs, a lake, the 2004 Madrid bombing memorial woods, the crystal palace, a statue of Lucifer (el Angel Caido), and the cafes serve a surprisingly good cup of coffee.

The Prado Museum is free for the last 2 hours each day (M-S 18:00-20:00, Sunday 17:00-19:00). Queue up with all the other freebie-hunters outside the main entrance and they'll herd you through pretty quickly, so don't worry if the line looks really long.

How long will you be there and what sort of things are you interested in?

Hi

Sorry for not answering sooner. As Asen commented, I also received the same email of Crowdsurge informing about the delay on the tickets sending

I hope we'll all receive the tickets soon!!! :D;)

The tickets remain on Deutsche Post facilities, and time is running out

The item was handed over to the International Logistics Center Frankfurt on Sep 28, 2012 to be forwarded to Spain.

Take a look at this page: http://ayuda.ticketmaster.es/?lang=en
You need to have the card you used to pay the tickets with you.

Ah brilliant thanks so much! Dont know why I am stressing as we went all the way to Mexico city without tickets in hand to see U2 and had to pick them up there - went on a bit of a wild goose chase but got them eventually!

Any body know the best way to and from the stadium? We are staying pretty much in the centre so am hoping there is a reasonable Metro nearby that will run late enough?

The best way would be taking the metro line 2, it has a stop near the venue (Goya) and several in the city centre.

Oh, and it's open until 1.30am.

I've finally bought a ticket ( )and wanted to collect it today. But the guy told me that I can only collect it a hour before the event starts at the venue because I don't have the credit card with me only a commission.
Is that true or is there any other way to collect the ticket before?
I'm a bit worried that it won't work on the day of the event...

Tracking code is not the same as order Id, You should receive an email from Crowdsurge with tracking number and a link to Deutschepost (DHL global mail) to check,

The traking number looks like "RK 1234 5678 9 DE", and the link to check https://www.deutschepost.de/sendungsstatus/bzl/sendung/simpleQuery.do?locale=en&look=dhl&init=true

I hope I don't have a problem picking up my tickets at the venue, because the card I used to pay for them has been replaced by my bank for a new one with a completely different number due to 'suspicious activity'. :stunned: Bad timing, eh?

Great gig, shame about the security. Despite queuing since 1.45am the door security held us back then shut the door in our faces to stop us going through. Managed far right barrier but only just. Plus the security by the stage refused to give water despite multiple boxes of bottles by them. Only when survival, the last song came on were we given a 250ml bottle to share with 4 people. Apart from that, the queuing crowd were great and friendly, Matt tripped, Dom lost a drumstick while playing and laughed, songs performed well, am so looking forward to next week even more.

Great set by Muse, including Hysteria, New Born (over 8 minutes!!!), TIRO and KoC. There was a great atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed it. They flashed up on the lyrics for Madness on the screens "weed" instead of "mean"...I guess quite rightly since everyone was lighting up!

I thought Unsustainable was terrible - the sound at the start of the gig did not sound good, although it got better. Survival was so disappointing, around me everyone just stood there. Which is weird because why'd everyone go so crazy for Starlight?

I had fun, turned up at just after 9pm and got pretty close to the front.

Probably 'cos its much better known and a bit faster than Survival, plus its got the line which most Spaniards know "Black holes and Revelaaaaaaaations". To be fair, watching the video I have of the crowd during Survival, they seemed pretty fired up to me.

Also throughout the concert, the vocals were a bit too quiet I thought. Still, it was a great gig, shame I can't make it to another....!

Weed? Up in the nosebleed seats, the fug was really thick. I could hardly make out the 'no smoking' banners.

Unsustainable sounded great to me, but I was above the speakers and up near the roof, level with the front of the stage on Chris's side. One or two songs fell a little flat - Explorers had everyone sitting down and taking a break (chatting, getting more beer, etc), and people were mostly watching the dancing monsters during Panic Station.

Some guys in the queue behind me at the airport tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I'd been to the Muse gig (the sweatshirt with Muse on it was a clue). They hadn't, but had gone to some indie club on Saturday night (Sunday morning) and found themselves at the aftershow party. :stunned:

Had an AMAZING time in Madrid :D

Decided to go completely unspoiled (not easy!) and it was great. All the new songs sounded fantastic, Falling Down was a massive surprise cos I'd heard the rumours but thought it would be so far fetched to have them playing it, the pyramid stage looks incredible and it doesn't detract one bit from the music, it enhances everything...

The crowd was as I expected it. loud and supportive from start to end, and everyone who had seats was standing. Standing was absolutely packed (looked too small to be honest) and that was actually the only thing that was annoying - I was right in front of the FoH (talked to Tom in the end :D) and near the end me and my friends were getting crushed against the metal gates. If I wanted to be squished, I'd be at the barrier... but apart from that... :D :D :D

Cant wait for London now!

Totally agree with that... The crowed was so loud that I really had to close my eyes and focus to hear Bellamy's voice... It's great that the crowd participates and the energy was just huge, but I didn't pay my ticket to have people yelling in my ears (neither bad singing nor "Dios mio !")... That was the down side of the gig...

Other than that, it was simply LEGEN-wait-for-it-DARY !!! :D The show was mind-blowing, the crowd super motivated, the band excellent... I'm still recovering from all these feelings :p

THANK YOU MADRID !!!!

I was trying to avoid twitter too  but yeah what a shame :( some of my friends talked to Tom too! so you probably saw them, by the time I got to them Tom was leaving, but oh well, didn't mind, I was so focused singing to everyone "so I told you" xD

We were pretty close to the stage by the left, good spot. Haha, me and one of my friends were totally singing the 'so i told you' and the 'you were warned but didn't listen' parts

Your friends must've been to my right cos he stopped to talk to a few boys before he came over to me to sign my ticket and by the time we left it was basically cos security was pushing us out of the standing area  So I guess we almost bumped into each other!

When did you start queuing and at what puerta?

We had an amazing time in Madrid!
I love the Palacio! We were 1st row of 2nd floor Matt's side, perfect view and enough space to dance and jump :D

We waited for the group after the show but only saw Tom Kirk (who was kind enough to let us take a picture of him)

Ready for London now!

One of my friends is a tall blonde guy who looks German, well, he is German  they got their tickets signed and talked to him a bit. Can you imagine? we probably crossed each other without knowing haha

We started to queue around 12:00 am at Goya entrance, and you?

Jaja, don't worry :) Even though it was a bit annoying, it was cute to see the effect it had at some people ! At some point I wish I could express my joy the same way :p

And another thing... I really can't see any reason why they wouldn't play Big Freeze on this tour: in my opinion its one of the best tracks on the album and reckon it would be fantastic live. The only explanation I can think of, is that early polls suggested that many fans thought it was the 'runt of the litter'. I was a bit dissapointed they didn't play it at the Palacio, but hope to see a video of it being played live IF they play it at another venue.

Got back last night from Madrid...what a weekend.

Oh my goodness - have to say that was THE best MUSE gig I have personally attended! I know I say that every time but this really WAS! The venue was excellent, even if it did look a little rammed in GA. The crowd were AMAYZING!!! The song choice was superb and not particulary predictable from my point of view anyway. Stage design was astounding as usual. And at last.....MATT is starting to interract with both the other guys on stage and the crowd. What a difference that made to the whole thing. The crowd obviously adored it but what was more interesting was that it really seemed to lift the band. Matt seemed to be in his element and although it was a little strange to see him without the guitar, it suited him and he seemed to play with the lyrics a little more. If they carry on like this - with the subtle little changes and nuances - they will be untouchable live for quite a long time.....

Oh.....and I got a marriage proposal during Starlight...and yes...I accepted!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

Did anyone else notice that Dom had a lot of trouble with his earpieces during the first couple of tracks? He kept pressing them in and looking to the sound engineer - he wasn't happy!! The sound level of his drums were much quieter too but that picked up towards the end of Supremacy. Managed to get on video him losing a drumstick too - what a legend!

Midnight?? You slept there? lol We did see quite a few people when we arrived, at about 9am. Our hotel was 5 min away from the venue, great find, and we saw people queuing as he went past the venue.
We turned up pretty late cos we had already decided that we'd stay by the sounddesk, so we only went to the queue about half an hour before the doors opened. And it was at Puerta del Berro, not Goya.

I don't remember seeing your friend, but for sure he was one of the guys who Tom stopped to talk to before he came to us. I was 3 friends, girls, and I had a Portuguese flag with me. I was going to ask Tom to sign it but then last minute I decided to get him to sign my ticket instead.

I started watching a few videos yesterday cos I was suffering massive withdrawal but think I'm not gonna watch anything else until I'm back from London next Monday. Plus, I had a standing ticket but I'm a shortarse so I'm swapping it for a seat cos it's my last gig this year and I NEED to see the stage properly.

But this must be said again - fantastic crowd :D I think I got goosebumps when Resistance started and everyone was singing the melody. I absolutely adore that song live, especially if it's being played to a good crowd.

  no, we certainly didn't lol

I went to see some people that were at Fuente del Berro but probably before you arrived.

I'm going to buy seated tickets for the next gig, for sure. In my opinion this setlist and this show were better than the ones from 2009 but I had a lot more fun during that gig because I could see everything, the show, the band, the crowd going crazy, I could move myself freely, jumping and dancing. Watching some videos now I'm realising I missed a lot of things :(

More videos, this guy has some pretty good ones

So he REALLY fell ! I didn't hallucinate :D

I would love to attend to an additional gig but it's unfortunately not very possible :(
Hope they'll come back to Europe in 2013... I'd like to try it seated to really enjoy all the effects.

Congratulations sassyjem !!! :D Proposing during Muse, that's a keeper hehe ! Best wishes to the both of you :)

I still have so many great memories (and terrible PMS the following day lol) and that was while spending half the gig whining that I couldn't see anything and then spending the final minutes getting squished. Can't imagine how good it would be if I was in a more comfortable area!

Hey relax :p
I understand that people can be so excited and I think it's very supportive for the band. If I didn't accept this, I indeed would watch live DVDs all alone.
I'm just a bit sad not to have heard Bellamy's voice more clearly. I'm still allowed to express my opinion. Both positive and negative impressions are in my post (maybe you should read till the end).
I love Muse and gigs but that's not a reason for me to always find everything amazing and perfect.
I mean we're here to exchange opinions and impressions, aren't we ? You may disagree with me but that does not give you the right to use that condescending tone.

Guys, I flew all the way from Moscow, Russia to see the beloved MUSE!! I am in Madrid and I still don't have a ticket...
Please, does somebody of you have an extra standing place ticket? I would pay loads of money to get it!!! Please, don't kill my dream!!..

Hey Alex! Did you end up getting into the gig? You're right, tickets were difficult to get hold of as soon as they went on sale and reckon they sold out by lunchtime. Don't forget MuseBay on this forum where you buy / sell / swap tickets. Hope you managed to get a ticket in the end. Saludos!
