uh-hu he was. I've loved him since I was a little child coz my mom always used to listen to his music. I was shocked when he died though he wasn't the youngest anymore and it just was a matter of time. I'll always love him for what he was. Keep his spirit pride alive!!

you guys should read the autobiography titled "Cash"
Johnny Cash has always been a great story teller in his music, but this book really gives a deep look into the history, life, and times of a musical legend.

Its amazing that he covered Hurt, i love his version and I love NIN's version, they are both amazing, and very different, they both feel very different...

I love his voice. Personal Jesus sounds oddly good too, when sung by him

Recently i've been listening to a lot of his stuff and and he's well, quite frankly brilliant. Anyone else like or dislike his music?

Yes he is rather good.

Shouldn't this be in the Other Bands section?

This should be in Other Bands.

Personally, I haven't listened to much of his stuff albeit via Coldplay last year with their Ring Of Fire cover. That was good.

+1 on the latter.

Suddenly become cool to like him.

I think he's shit.

I dislike it. Then again, people probably think I have a bad taste in music.

He's awesome. I bought his last cover 2 CD's for the covers (bought them a while ago, at least 2 years), but the longer I've listened to them, the more I've found out Country Music, in the right hands, isn't such an awful thing.

And the way he "steals" other people's songs and makes them his own is really quite remarkable.

I grew up listening to a few of his songs cos my mum likes him and has some of his stuff on vinyl in the loft. I love him. What a seriously interesting, fucked up, cool guy.

I don't know as much about him as I should. When the Man Comes Around is one of my favourite songs though. I think the lyrics are neat:

I picked up an album which I believe is mostly covers he did, and I love quite a few songs.

I recommend the following:

One
I See a Darkness
The Mercy Seat
Wayfaring Stranger

They're all great stuff.

well my grandpa just loves him and always has so i guess listening to him growing up, it just comes naturally to me for him to be one of my biggest idols. he went from being a rebel to one of the kindest and most legendary musician of all time. and probably the biggest cover of all time.

If you ask me, he rescued Nick's MS from sounding like just some mumbled Jibrish....

To each their own, I still enjoy the original at the same time. It has a weird kind of power about it. I am biased though, as Nick Cave is currently my favourite artist.
