View Full Version : The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster
I couldn't find a thread for them!
I don't really know much of them, but someone at work was telling me about them the other day,
he said they were excellent at Reading (he even had a backstage pass  )
I only know Mister Mental but I love it! :D
Just saw the vid for "Mister Mental" @ www.eightiesmatchbox.com
I am liking this band a lot

I do love I Could Be An Angle...
My friend regularly says "If I could be an angle- I'd be a tangent!" So true... :D Maybe one day I'll actually play her the song..
The new single is good, really dischordant, but not as good as black wire...
This morning I bought "Horse Of The Dog" :D
It is fucking great in my opinion,
only 25 minutes long, but its about quality not quantity ;)
My fave tracks on it are:
Psychosis Safari
Fishfingers
Celebrate Your Mother
Morning Has Broken
I discovered they have a new album out next month! :)

I don't own their albums, because I can't justify spending £15 for 26 minutes of music. Seriously, that's the cheapest I've ever seen it at. :(
I'm gonna get that first album somehow though. The 2nd album is good, but I was pissed when I was listening to it. :)
I missed them at Leeds. :( Stupid Franz Ferdinand and their stupid goodness.

This I didn't know; and I'll admit it is pretty cool. But it means the singer has no excuse, he's still a bad Elvis impersonator that looks like that one from 'The Mighty Boosh'.
Sarah
10-11-2004, 11:00 PM
Sounds nothing like Elvis! Nick Cave, perhaps.

Nothing wrong with sounding a bit like Nick Cave. Both are very distictive & refreshing from other frontmen.

Thought I'd ressurect this thread for the sake of good music. I don't know if they've been dropped or not, but I do know that their record label handled them really badly and record sales was largely down to bad promotion and management. they'll be back, they had too many good tunes to just disappear off the face of the planet
