Right. I think the first album was great but I am not sure about the new stuff..
Well, I am glad they had at least ONE great album! :)

I to Sky was überly produced really.. they lost that raw sound that the 1st album had! I'm quite looking forward to the new one.. John Leckie may be able to give them the sound they need... having said that, he isnt the worlds most exciting producer..

JJ72 - What's Happening?
Lots of fans have been asking what is happening with the band and what the plans are for this year. Lots of material has been recorded and there are still a few more tracks to finish up and record.
In the past few weeks in early April the band have been recording more new material with the debut albums producer, Ian Caple.
The band have also been working with the producer, Ken Thomas whose previous production jobs have included Sigur Rós and Dave Gahan and also John Leckie of Stone Roses, Starsailor, Muse and Radiohead fame.
There is no definite release dates set yet as the band want to be completely happy with everything recorded before releasing anything. But expect some great music coming out soon and a tour so you can see all the material played live.
glad to see u liked oxygen gordon :D hmm i'd download these: formulae, astoria, october swimmer, snow, serpent sky, 7th wave, city, half three, its whatever u like really :) some i prefer more than others and other people prefer the ones i like more :) but these are good anyway ;)

I really like JJJ2, new album is out later this year and they have just finished a warm up tour of the UK playing all over the place. the new songs sound excellent! - New single out on monday as download only and limited (to 500) edition 7" vinyl (http://www.rawkstar.net/news/71).
You can hear heat on their official site http://www.jj72.com.
I just wrote a review (http://www.rawkstar.net/live/28) of their glasgow gig, it was great :D
I to sky was good, shame it completely flopped...

I liked their debut album and I To Sky, so I'm looking forward to their new album! (I never thought they'd get round to making one, actually...)
And I'm gonna see them at Download in 5 days! w00t!

singles out at the end of this month, new albums out in september/october although i already have much of it, sounds prety good. It hasn't got the epic qualities that I to Sky had yet is more accessible and a damn sie better than the first album. Tis somewhat darker n heavier than what they've done before. I think I'll go see them in sheffield or something.

Hey, who else knows this band?
They've been getting bigger in recent years, and I've just been listening to some new tracks, which are damn excellent.
I think if you have the good taste to be on a muse forum you should try them out, it's really annoying that a) loads of people haven't heard of them, and b) people always think I'm making them up cause' my nick name is JJ. Damn them.

Bought Coming Home today, its ok, too much mushy chords rather than melodies to be honest, Mark sounds too conscientious about singing, I prefered his daft but confident vocals on earlier songs, when you heard them you knew it was jj72, marked them out in a way, now its like they're trying too blend into the background, b-side Tokyo is good but neither songs are a patch on their earlier singles.

The band have completed work on a new album (rumoured to be titled 'On' or 'Heaven City Falls'), however no release date has been set due to an on going dispute with current record labels Lakota records and Columbia Records/Sony. Songs tipped to be on the album include: 'Take From Me', 'Rainfalls', 'Underground', 'Maria', 'Everything', 'Radio' and 'Some Day'.
The band have started an online diary at www.jj72.blogspot.com which is regularly updated.
Hmm.

OK, it all seems to have gone tits up for the JJ72 lads, so why don't they just go on one big fuck off tour, stick a load of demos on t'internet, and rebuild their fanbase? They're obviously getting fucked over by their record label (hence there being NO promotion for the latest album) so why go back into the studio to spend more money on another album? Go back to what made you popular to begin with - the live shows!

After 11 years and two critically acclaimed albums which have sold in excess of 650k worldwide spawning a series of UK and Ireland chart hit singles including ‘Snow’, ‘October Swimmer’ & ‘Oxygen’ JJ72 have announced they are to split up with immediate effect due to record company issues. Mark Greaney is currently in the studio working on a new project with more details to be announced shortly.
Statement from JJ72
Reader, we are to let thee know,
JJ72's body only lies below;
For could the grave JJ's soul comprise,
Earth would be richer than the skies.
JJ72 was born during an Easter many seasons ago; today it dies on the cusp of midsummer eleven years later.
Mark Greaney, Fergal Matthews & Sarah Fox wish to express their deepest and darkest gratitude to all of those with impeccable taste who helped and supported the band.
" We remember everything, from mechanical birds in Japan to angels in arid Arizona, from broken bones and Berlin birthdays to predatory Portsmouth spiders. For those who disliked and perhaps despised (gasp) JJ72, thank you - how did beautiful photographs exist without a negative?! We crafted two monuments of magnificence for the future aural pleasure and pain of all would be JJ believers and doubters....and for those who care not for the passing of the petulant yet powerful pup....shame on you! Thank you to Hilary Woods for being a dazzling damsel and thank you to all who played music in/with the band. You know who you are. "
JJ72 decided it was the end as it did not want to undermine its achievements by continuing a ridiculous argument with a label that would not be able to support the release and touring of the third JJ opus - a label who lost funding from Sony/BMG some time ago.

Awww well, I know why - I thought they were awesome. But I dunno why I latched onto them so much. I'd lost interest by the second album though as I usually do with bands. :chuckle:
I forgot they supported Muse! As did Coldplay. Haha.
Second album's good though  I Saw A Prayer, Always And Forever, Serpent Sky and Formulae are all brilliant and just as good as most tracks on the debut. Damn, I must listen to them tomorrow (and Arcade Fire and INXS as well)
Coldplay is still good if you just take them for what they are.....better than average pop music :phu:

That's because you want them to be boring
I've got the same thing with post Kid A Radiohead and I'm pretty sure I'm just imagining things but I just can't/don't want to get into it.

Nah I've just always found them boring. Since like, Yellow. I like my music with a bit of quirkiness - they just drone on about clocks and apples and shit.

Well, if it was actually about clocks and apples and shit it'd be awesome. damn metaphors.

Snow Patrol and Coldplay should get together and make an album of lullabies for babies.
