Ok so me and agenthal are running into serious trouble with our competition to win Voodoo tickets as somehow Trombone Shorty has gotten over 100 votes in a matter of a night. We need you all to like this page and then get some of your friends to like it to! Please! It will only take a minute of your time

Yeah! That's where I got the clockwork link.

DUDE if I had the money! http://www.etsy.com/listing/49888004/raygun-and-leather-holster-in-cold-cast?ref=sr_gallery_6&ga_search_query=steampunk+holster&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title

Looks like I won't be attending on VIP passes because the Trombone Shorty guy "started trying" yesterday and came from nowhere to be in the lead. I can't compete with him... this sucks.

BTW, maybe I'm wrong, but don't they usually air Voodoo on Fuse a few days after it happens? I may be wrong but I think they do. Another pro-shot Muse performance is always nice.

Should I throw away the $100 to get the lightup gun? If I somehow ran into Matt I think he'd be impressed. It's fucking COOL. I might have to do it.... I'm so impulsive. The one thing I'm worried about is them not letting me bring it in, also my glass vials and such... :(

They might not let you. On the approve list it says no guns. Make sure they know it's your costume, not like they'll think you will harm someone with it haha. I would get it, it's pretty impressive. Those goggles are cool too. I want to dress up like that, but I don't want to steal your idea.

We should have a whole crew!?

And I'm a bit worried about the gun too, but come on, it's Halloween! And it's probably plastic, and the wooden ones should be fine too. If they don't want toy weapons they shouldn't have the fest over Halloween.

Nah, doesn't say anywhere where they will be playing. I can say very very good chance its not Sunday, since thats probably Ozzy. My guess would be Saturday but I haven't heard any rumors or anything so I don't know.

Huh. You have any links to any rumors like that? Not that I doubt you.

Muse is first on all the line-up lists so far, in front of Ozzy. I guess that could explain that. I'd figure Ozzy would be perfect for Halloween though. I mean, I'd rather have Muse on Halloween because it'd be awesome and we'd get them in costumes (Also the festival ending with Knights would probably be the best ending it could have, to me at least), but for the masses, Ozzy on halloween is just kinda perfect.

I have some feeling that another headliner (I'm thinking Soundgarden) will be added. I'm pretty sure Lenny Kravitz last year wasn't added till late. So,

Friday- Soundgarden
Saturday- Ozzy
Sunday- Muse

That would seem ok. I'm pretty sure they usually don't schedule anyone big against the headliners. Though I guess this could also mean Muse would be Friday and Soundgarden Sunday. Or maybe I'm completely wrong about Soundgarden. I dunno.

Maybe I'm imagining things but I think the 2009 schedule on the site worked around the time the new line-up came out/right before the new one came out, but now the link is broken.

Lenny wasn't added till September last year, and bands like Soundgarden or Arcade Fire or even the Strokes can't promote other shows until Lollapalooza is over in August. Also heres the link to the place where I heard the Ozzy on Saturday rumor:

I would weep great tears of joy if Arcade Fire was added, though I know thats unlikely. They are pretty high on my "bands to see before I die" list. I would also be incredibly excited for The Strokes.

But, are you sure about the not being able to promote shows thing? I know thats probably true for Soundgarden, they have no more dates lined up (They had to play a show under the name of "Nudedragons" earlier this year), are being billed as the top headliner of lolla, and I suppose thats supposed to be like the big reunion show. But the Strokes and Arcade Fire already got other dates lined up, including festival dates. Maybe these were established before Lolla but I'm not sure about them two not being able to promote shows (though i mean i may be wrong i don't actually know any of this for sure). Thats why I figured Soundgarden as more likely than them.

I'm not a huge Soundgarden fan (though I don't mind what I've heard) so I wouldn't really care too much about that addition, but another band like that is always fine, I wouldn't mind seeing them if no one else was playing or maybe another band will be playing at the same time that I wanna see and there will be a smaller crowd.

I'm kinda worried the electronic acts will conflict big time with the other acts. Of those I really mostly wanna see Deadmau5, I don't even know the others well, but I hope he doesn't conflict with anyone big for me.

I think they're just not really able to actively promote other festivals. I know that the Strokes have played a few gigs in the UK, and that Arcade Fire has a couple MSG dates in August. I really have no clue, but as they're both big names I would assume they're under the same rules as Soundgarden

Oh, by the way, another thing that'd be good about Muse playing Sunday, as a headliner they'll probably be playing at the same time as the Saints game that day. The Saints are playing a big time (the Steelers) and its a prime time game, at 7 that night, and from what I've seen and heard, New Orleans folk are really really into their team. This could mean less people there on Sunday night, more people (mostly locals) going to either the game or going to bars/back home to watch it on TV. I mean it won't be a big amount of people, but to me, I figure less people is kinda good because you can get closer to the front easier obviously, and also everyone that were to leave would probably not be huge Muse fans, because otherwise they would stay obviously, so more concentrated amount of people singing along and going crazy and stuff.

Now I may be way overestimating how big the Saints are there, and Muse might not even be Sunday, but I think I would want Muse to be Sunday, not only because its Halloween.

Just thought of that and figured it was worth pointing out

I think they're just not really able to actively promote other festivals. I know that the Strokes have played a few gigs in the UK, and that Arcade Fire has a couple MSG dates in August. I really have no clue, but as they're both big names I would assume they're under the same rules as Soundgarden

I figure that Soundgarden is under those rules because Lolla is like being billed as their big reunion show. Now I know the Strokes went on hiatus but I'm pretty sure the UK gigs were considered their reunion shows. Also, The Strokes are playing a festival in San Francisco (And ACL but thats run by the same people that run Lolla so it doesnt really count) and Arcade Fire are playing some UK festivals and one or two in Canada, as well as having some US tour dates in August. Soundgarden's only date this year thats planned is Lolla. So again I may be wrong but I dont think the Strokes and Arcade Fire are under the same rules.

yeah same here about deadmau5. paul oakenfold is a beast too. i'm excited about him.

and of course i keep praying for God to deem the gulf worthy of something great and bring Daft Punk in to do a set.
I should probably look into some of those DJs. I figure the dance tent (According to what I've read they are bringing this back from many years ago, which would explain all the DJs and electronic acts) will basically be where I go when no one I care about is playing though. Unless I'm too tired. Though I suppose I also would wanna check out some of the local New Orleans acts, I've heard some great things about them.

And yes, Daft Punk would be the best thing ever. I'm dying to see them too, they are actually ahead of Arcade Fire on my "Bands/artists to see before I die list" :p

I can't think of anyone I'd rather have added than them. It'd be amazing.

And you know, considering how rare Daft Punk performances are, it might would make some sense to wait closer to the single day tickets to add them.

Not that I expect it, just having some hope. I do expect one more headliner but I'm doubting it'll be anyone that appeals to me very much. Judging from like Facebook comments and stuff someone like Soundgarden would go a long way for a lot of people, since apparently a lot of people haven't discovered new music yet.

How does that thing work anyway? I know the Le Ritual, Le Carnival, and that stuff is different areas, but aren't there like two stages for Le Ritual? And this year theres a dance tent and all the electronic acts are under le ritual. Though maybe they are taking away one of the main stages for the dance tent?

Or am I wrong and is Le Ritual only one stage?

The way it's seemed to me is that each area has two stages, so two stages at Le Ritual plus the return of the dance tent. So it seems like two stages plus the tent

Now I may be way overestimating how big the Saints are there, and Muse might not even be Sunday, but I think I would want Muse to be Sunday, not only because its Halloween.

Just thought of that and figured it was worth pointing out

You are not overestimating one bit. But New Orleanians are also dedicated music fans. It would be cool if voodoo managed to get a broadcast set up, but I'm not sure the NFL would allow that. If Muse do play on Sunday there will still be a huge amount of people there. Not to mention that the game would be nearly or almost over by the time Muse went on.

So from what I gathered, like with the Le Ritual, there'll be two stages, and never two le ritual artists playing at the same time? (Now granted im sure the dance tent will be going on the whole time but thats a different story)

Because this would make me very happy, no more worrying about conflicts. Also, if two stages+tent, seems like theres a lot of room to add people.

Though Eagles of Death Metal under le carnival. hopefully they dont conflict D:

The game is a late game, its at 7:20. Muse (or whoever is playing Sunday) would probably come on around 8 or 8:30, possibly earlier since its Sunday/last day. Game probably wouldn't end until about the time the set ends. So it would be at the same time.

I know there'd still be a ton of people, but I would figure less than for the other headliners. but maybe not

I think they're just not really able to actively promote other festivals. I know that the Strokes have played a few gigs in the UK, and that Arcade Fire has a couple MSG dates in August. I really have no clue, but as they're both big names I would assume they're under the same rules as Soundgarden

They just wouldn't be allowed to play shows in and around the Chicago area; it doesn't really affect them from announcing shows in other areas. As for other festivals not grabbing them - I guess no one likes sloppy seconds. Or it's possible that Lolla does have some kind of festival exclusivity going on.

it would seem that way for lolla. My guy performed at lolla last year and he said his record label and lolla were pretty strict on what he could and could not do in regards to shows around lolla time.

Either way, we won't know until lolla is over.

So we made reservations for that Marriot thats the official hotel, but turns out they have Saturday booked. I think they said theres a really good chance we'll end up being able to stay there on Saturday but they can't promise the same rate. We got thursday, friday, and sunday nights at least.

But dang, now I feel stupid for waiting so long :/ I kept putting it off for dumb reasons. I really hope we get Saturday, otherwise we'll probably just cancel and find another hotel, because I dont want to move hotels then move back into this other one.

Probably gonna come up Thursday morning, spend the day checking out New Orleans. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will probably be all day at Voodoo, then Monday check out New Orleans for a bit more then leave. Looking forward to it, only time I'm really going out of town all year, not counting Houston trips.

Schedules aren't normally released until close to the fest right? I know ACL is releasing theirs way early but Voodoo isnt the same are they?

I'll be really surprised if Ozzy doesn't play Halloween because that's all I've been hearing. As for the Saints game, Sunday's headliner would be playing through the game because Sunday always ends earlier than the other nights. (Lenny Kravitz started at 7:00 pm last year). I'm pretty sure Voodoo will have the game on somewhere cause there will definitely be people there that want to see it.

Le Ritual is two different stages (Voodoo and PlayStation) right across from each other on this field.

http://i45.tinypic.com/24blwkm.jpg

It's usually the bigger acts playing these two and there are never two acts playing at the same time. Here's Saturday night's schedule from last year for example.

Thanks! that actually clears up a lot. So basically I'm just going to be walking back and forth? I shouldn't miss anyone under Le Carnival as long as I stay in that area?

Also been looking for a schedule so I could see how it was thanks for that too.

I actually really like that, I'm glad because I'll get to see everyone and won't have any conflicts like I would at pretty much every other festival. Only things to worry about is dance tent going on at same time (Though only one from there I really wanna see is Deadmau5) and the Eagles of Death Metal who I wanna see are under Le carnival. Hopefully it still ends up good though

And yeah, logically you'd think Ozzy would play on Sunday considering its halloween.

Lenny wasn't added till September last year, and bands like Soundgarden or Arcade Fire or even the Strokes can't promote other shows until Lollapalooza is over in August. Also heres the link to the place where I heard the Ozzy on Saturday rumor:
http://festival-outlook.consequenceofsound.net/fests/view/233/voodoo-experience

So I found out the rules on Lolla. Bands can't play/promote shows with 300 miles of Lolla 180 days before and 90 days after the festival (Which is an incredibly stupid rule)

But, New Orleans is well over 300 miles. So bands such as the Arcade Fire and Strokes are good as far as Voodoo is concerned, and could have already been on the line-up. So, there really was no reason for them not to be on the initial line-up, unless Voodoo people just wanted to save a big name for later. And besides, MGMT is playing both festivals, and they are allowed to promote voodoo.

But, the thing with Soundgarden, is Lolla is billed as their reunion show. I know ive mentioned this, but they can't promote shows other than lolla because they are on contract for that to be their first show reunited. It has nothing to do with the rules above and is unrelated to the other bands. You notice Soundgarden is closing out Lolla too.

Anyways, sorry if im just reposting stuff already said, but, in other discussion, the festival set lists over in the UK lately have been pretty good, which makes me feel better. But then again, thats the UK, so it may be different. But, this is the last US show (pretty much for sure) on this tour, and its on halloween so they'll be in costume probably, so maybe they'll do something different. I mean I don't expect radical changes. Just give me one of CE, Bliss, or MK Ultra and I'll be happy (Preferably CE. Or all 3. That works too). House of the Rising Sun in full would be amazing too.

Oh man. Your lucky. That sounds awesome.

I'm hoping to get barrier or close to it for Muse for this one. Shouldn't be too hard....as long as MGMT or Deadmau5 aren't right before Muse. Those are the two (that might would be) that I'd give up barrier for.

So The Gorillaz are touring the US in October. Them as the 3rd voodoo headliner would be kind of awesome.....

I'm not expecting it though. But thats one of the best (realistic) adds they could come up with. I'd much prefer them to Soundgarden. And I'm worried that my parents will complain about me going to too many shows (That would be like 5 in October including two huge 3 day fests. If I go to ACL that is) and may not let me go see them if they come to Houston D:

And also my uncle was complaining that rap isn't represented enough here (He said Drake tries to hard to be Lil Wayne ). That add might would help with that.

I'm still thinking Soundgarden as most likely though. I really do think there will be another headliner added, and possibly/hopefully some mid-card people too. Theres this fest that weekend in North Carolina that seems to have a lot of cross-over with Voodoo so far. Massive Attack is playing that. They'd be a good add. And I still hold out hope for LCD

As far as schedule, assuming Ozzy plays Saturday, I'm thinking Muse would probably be friday. Weezer into Muse on Friday, My Morning Jacket into Ozzy on Saturday, MGMT into Headliner 3 on Sunday. Though Muse could be Sunday. And if they don't have another headliner, one of MMJ or Weezer would. I'd figure Weezer since they are much more well-known but from everything I've heard and seen seems more likely it'd be MMJ.

edit- so i was reading up and apparently Muse is very likely friday which i guess i should have realized because of the baby and all. my morning jacket is apparently playing sunday. and ozzy is pretty much confirmed saturday. which seems really weird. i dont know why you wouldnt put ozzy on halloween. While I'd kinda prefer Saturday or Sunday for Muse, at least it isn't the same day as MGMT. then again i guess saturday will be the most crowded. gah. this is like the only fest ive seen release a line-up and even stages but not a day by day

Well, the full MoogFest lineup comes out the 27th so maybe we'll get some clues then. ;)

Oh, and if anyone still needs a hotel room, we have one spot available in our cram-packed room at the Marriott (because we're cheap). So far it's me, Marena, Michel, Josie, and Naomi, but we can squeeze in one more to make it an even $100 a piece! I'd bring a sleeping bag though.

Moogfest's line-up was delayed because "some big opportunities arose". hmmm

Anyways, as far as adds, I still think Soundgarden for 3rd headliner. Massive Attack would be awesome and I could see them being added, not as a headliner though. LCD Soundsystem is apparently touring in October apparently. And even better they might be touring with Hot Chip whose here at Voodoo. I would be so happy if they were added

Also been listening to a lot of Interpol lately. Really excited to see them. Next on my list I suppose I need to listen to Hot Chip. Then My Morning Jacket. Then Minus the Bear. Then I think I got close enough to everyone covered and I'll just let anyone else surprise me :p

seriously, my priority list right now is
1. muse
2. mgmt
3. deadmau5
4. jonsi
5. interpol

to have my 2 and 3 conflict would hurt real bad. And the reason I'm seriously worried is because as of right now, My Morning Jacket I hear is playing Sunday, so I'd figure MGMT would have a set before them when its just turning dark, and I'd figure that'd be around the time Deadmau5 played if hes on Sunday.

Though I'm kinda hoping MGMT is more like at 4 or 5 rather than 7 or 8. If they add a headliner for Sunday that does seem more likely.

Though maybe Deadmau5 would have a headlining time and conflict with MMJ which I could deal with, because I haven't really listened to MMJ even though I hear they are good.

Seconded. They were really notC that good at Coachella. They also had the opposite attitude of Muse and decided to not play Kids, which is what about 90% of people at there set were there to hear. There new stuff is good on the album but just doesn't transfer well live in my opinion. I'd go for Deadmau5 as he was AMAZING at Coachella.

You just buy the VIP tickets you dont have to buy the normal tickets then upgrade. And if you've already bought the regular tickets, you can apparently pay the difference to upgrade.

Uhh for VIP, my uncle whose gone the past two years and who im going with this year said its worth it and he wanted them no matter what (he didnt have them either two years). You get a parking pass so you dont have to walk near as far, you get access to the VIP lounge which has its own bathrooms, is probably air conditioned, and has free food, the front area is blocked off for VIP, and I think there may be another raised viewing area somewhere but I dont know for sure. I'd figure it was worth it just for front row for me. (considering im not going to much else this year), I've been asking around and you don't have to camp spots at all, you can stroll right up and have a killer spot. I've heard its easy to have barrier if you just wait through one artist, so it probably won't be hard to have barrier for Muse.

none of this based on personal experience just what ive heard

it is a lot of money though. i got them early bird when that price didnt look near as bad.

They canceled those November dates well before this festival was announced. Not to mention they'll probably be playing on Friday, which is the 29th, which is only 2 days after their tour date before that. And I'm sure they'll get like Morgan to fill in if they have to (He filled in years back when Chris broke his wrist), they are probably on contract to play unless they just physically aren't able to, like one of them gets injured or something. Now I don't know about refunds, I'm kinda doubting they do that, but I don't know for sure. Maybe you can e-mail them or ask over twitter (they seem to reply to the tweets a lot, I've gotten replied to both times I asked).

They're good, fun dance music. I'm going to spend a lot of my time at this festival dancing.

Oh yeah, this is going to be a very fun festival. I really can't wait. This is my thing to look forward to this year since I probably can't make ACL and didn't really get to take a vacation this summer

Can anyone answer this question? When is Chris's baby due? Is there any possibility that MUSE will cancel this festival if the baby comes around this date? If they do cancel, would we be able to get a refund since this is a festival and not just their concert? I have booked a room, but have not ordered tickets yet. I don't want to spend $500 on VIP if there is any possibility that they may have to cancel. I would only buy the 3 day pass if they were not going to be there. I noticed they cancelled their early November US dates because of this due date. Anyone know anything????

They wouldn't cancel. Worst case scenario they'd have Morgan play bass and have Alessandro Cortini (played in Berlin and Walter Kerr) play all of Morgans usual parts. You definitely wouldn't get a refund if they pulled out though. Coachella had a few bands cancel from the volcano and there was no refund. Beastie Boys cancelled a few fests last year and there was no refund. On the terms and conditions when you buy tickets for something like this it says that the lineup is subject to change.

I wish they at least had a day by day out.

But now with Lolla over im hoping we get adds and schedule this week or next. If any of those adds are big and will sell tickets (like Soundgarden) you'd figure they'd wanna get them out as soon as possible to give people more time to get the money together to buy tickets.

Though the last two years the adds seem to have come in early September. But I don't want to wait that long D: I hope they at least leak like an addition a week or something until then if we have to wait that long, like they did with the Crystal Method. Though I doubt it.

Ghostland Observatory selected tour dates:
10/29 – Houston, TX @ Warehouse Live
10/30 – Dallas, TX @ Palladium Ballroom
11/06 – Santa Cruz, CA @ The Catalyst

That leaves a small opening for Voodoo I guess

Very possible they play on Halloween. Just adds up well since they are in Texas the day before.

As far as tour dates going well with Voodoo, Phoenix is in Florida 3 days before on the 26th, and have a big gap between that day and their next date on November 17th (which is in South America). They'd look good before Muse on Friday (Like Phoenix into Muse Friday, Soundgarden into Ozzy Saturday, and MGMT into Weezer into My Morning Jacket Sunday. Though I may be way off on that order)

I'd love Phoenix to get added, saw them back in April and they were great, would love to see them again.

New video blog on voodoo about the dance tent. Not a whole lot of new info but its interesting at least. hope they make these more often

though probably the most interesting part is he says a schedule is coming "real soon". Hopefully that means within a week or two. And would also mean the adds are coming with it.

From what I've heard, you can still hear the band playing the other stage perfectly fine, and they are shown on the video screens. So its pretty much like you aren't missing them.

I'm just really worried about missing some of the electronic acts. I'd like to see Hot Chip and Deadmau5 but I really hope neither conflicts with anyone because of the dance tent. Only other band I'm worried about is Eagles of Death Metal, because everyone else I want to see is on the two main stages.

Thats the absolute worst case scenario for me....

I know MGMT may suck live but I still really want to see them. I'm too big a fan to miss them. I tried to go to a show back in June but it sold out too fast. My priority list is...
1. Muse
2. MGMT
3. Deadmau5
4. Jonsi
5. Interpol

I know it doesnt matter because most of these won't conflict but thats by order of who I want to see. A Deadmau5/Interpol conflict would hurt too.

Unless Deadmau5 conflicts with headliner on Sunday who is probably My Morning Jacket. I'd like to see MMJ but I could live with that since I havent listened to them much.

Idk I'm an mgmt fan too... But I LOVE a good live show and I know they aren't great. Deadmau5, however, I heard is great live. So I would feel bad about mgmt, but not much.

My priorities are muse, deadmau5, Interpol, Ozzy (I think he would be fun), Paul Oakenfold, Florence, and street sweeper social club.

Oh, I haven been on here in a while. Did we come up with a muser meetup plan?

Deadmau5's live show looks amazing and I like his album stuff too. I've just been listening to MGMT for a while now and been dying to see them live, whether they suck or not. I like Deadmau5 a lot though. God thats like the worst conflict that could happen here.

Ozzy will be fun and im excited to see him. Sure, he may not sound great, but who cares? Atmosphere there and stuff will be fun, and everyone will be singing along so it wont matter. Seeing him around Halloween in New Orleans just sounds awesome. Also, is Paul Oakenfold good? I dont know the DJs well besides Deadmau5

Maybe I'm just stupid but it seems like they reorganized the lineup page a bit. Like I dont remember Janelle Monae and Minus the Bear being on a page by themselves. Maybe im just stupid though. But that could mean something

Also someone on Festival Outlook is saying the White Rabbits (touring with Interpol around Voodoo which makes them pretty likely to be added) will be added and he said their drummer said LCD Soundsystem and Sleigh Bells signed on for the festival. Apparently Sleigh Bells guitarist has family in New Orleans and I dont think theyve played it so that may make a bit of sense. And LCD is touring with Hot Chip so that makes a bit of sense.

Though I bought tickets to see LCD Soundsystem with Sleigh Bells and im selling my vampire weekend tickets to go to that, so that'll kinda suck. Though I'll still probably stick to LCD, see them in a small venue and its on a friday night vs a thursday night. And its during ACL so I won't feel as sad about not being there :p Or at least I wont be thinking about it

Anyways, so theres those 3, and I'm still thinking Soundgarden, I think Phoenix may be a possibility since they are in Florida 3 days earlier, and I think Massive Attack and Thievery Corporation are possibilities because their tour dates fit perfectly. But yeah.

Hmm, I suppose so. And they wont be shadowing me the whole time or anything anyway, i doubt they'll be venturing into the pit near as much as me, and i know for certain they'll stay far far away from the dance tent :p So I'd probably be good

Yeah, I think we are all hoping for both of those. Bliss would be awesome too.

If any show gets a rarity, I'd say we are one of the more likely ones. Festival so no towers restricting them, on halloween, and last date of the whole US tour. Maybe I'm being overly hopeful though

Also, wonder if they'll use a set-up like Coachella where they had the towers in the background just being used as video screens, or more like the one they've been using in Europe with the hexagons? Not that it matters to much, either way is fine

According to my uncle who went last year and my asking around, there apparently is a vip standing then normal standing on the main stage. I don't know how big it is but my uncle said last year there was plenty of room in it usually. People on facebook told me its pretty easy to get barrier with the section.

It shouldn't be too big though, if you had barrier in the normal section im sure you'd have a good spot. I've been trying to find a picture or video but I can't find a good one.

I definitely wouldn't have bought them otherwise even if people im going with wanted them, because they were expensive. but i suppose since im not going to anything else (as in not going to acl) and have the money from working I might as well make my one experience as best it can be.

also, at least camping at acl wouldnt be so bad considering that stage has a great line-up. Though when I thought I might be going to it my plan was that I'd go get a spot around 6 and wait from there on, and use the 5:30 to 6:00 time to eat, refill water, restroom, that stuff to be prepared for the wait

newbliss
27-08-2010, 04:12 AM
okay I see. It's really cool that they have that section but I could never afford it. At least you can stroll right in at the last minute and still get a good spot. That rumor come from your dads friend or has it been circulating? That'd be kinda weird. You'd figure they wouldn't put the two biggest headliners on the same night.

I still hope that means Muse on main stage. Preferably after Ozzy. In fact, if it was after Ozzy, it'd probably be much easier to get barrier. Though I'd really hate to miss being in the pit for Ozzy.

I still hope that means Muse on main stage. Preferably after Ozzy. In fact, if it was after Ozzy, it'd probably be much easier to get barrier. Though I'd really hate to miss being in the pit for Ozzy.

Any other rumors you are hearing, like adds?

The guy my dad knows. Yeah, I was kind of confused by that.. it doesn't really makes sense. For all I know my dad got things mixed up

edit- Well, someone posted the link as I was typing this up, thanks :p for some reason I didnt get the email even though im on the mailing list

Saturday looks really week. I really really hope this isn't the end of the adds. Drake being the headliner with Ozzy Saturday night would be lame.

Looks like I'll be missing Weezer to get a good spot for Muse (Well kinda, I've heard that if you are on one stage you can still hear the band on the other fine and see them on the video screen, but I'll be so far back that it probably won't be the same. At least I won't be bored waiting though).

Muse being on Friday is good in that I get to see them right away and won't spend the weekend anticipating them and can just enjoy everything else, though at the same time seeing them on Sunday would be awesome. And they'd be an awesome way to close it out. But I guess they'll be an awesome way to start it off too

If this line-up is final I would have much rathered Weezer with Ozzy on Saturday night. Really that would have made more sense too. Maybe Drake with Muse, though I guess tour dates wouldnt allow that anyway. But after hearing the new album and stuff I was kind of excited for Weezer. Friday and Sunday don't look too bad. For me personally Sunday is pretty strong in that MGMT, Interpol, and Deadmau5 are all in my top 5 (which is worrying, I'm really really scared Deadmau5 conflicts with one of the two. I hope Deadmau5 plays against MMJ or something instead, though I want to see MMJ too but not as much as Deadmau5, Interpol, or MGMT). Saturday doesnt even have anyone in my top 5. Meh.

Only adds I'm noticing upon first look are Macy Gray and Rusko. Neither of those do anything for me. Anyone notice anyone else of note?

Saturday looks the strongest. Ozzy, Paul van Dyk, SSSC, Cage the Elephant, Flo, and Eagles of Death Metal. Friday looks the weakest (besides Muse) with only Weezer, Metric and Hot Chip. And Sunday is pretty good too since MGMT (even though they're pretty terrible live ), Deadmau5, Interpol, Paul Oakenfold, Airborne Tox, Minus the Bear, and Janelle Monae are there.

The only big ones to me Saturday are Ozzy, Cage the Elephant, Flo, and Eagles of Death Metal

Though beyond that I wouldnt mind seeing the crystal method, sssc, and the whigs.

I havent listened to Paul Van Dyk so I guess thats a part of it.

Friday has Muse, Metric, Hot Chip, Jonsi, Weezer, and uh...ok you got me. But I like the quality there better than Saturday.

Sunday has MGMT, Interpol, MMJ, Deadmau5, Janelle Monae, and all those DJs I hear are good, plus some bands I hear are good like Minus the Bear and The Airbourne Toxic Event

To be honest though, line-up looks weaker when you split it up like this. Really hope theres some adds.

In case anyone's interested, single day passes are on sale and they are only 55 dollars. So if someone only wanna come up for Muse or something you can do it

https://www.elevate.com/boxoffice/?cref=49185fa4-fbc4-4ac1-88eb-5afa8f331485

Also, @newbliss and anyone else that cares, turns out you can still get barrier without VIP tickets. I don't know how long this has been up, but this is what the VIP pit looks like

They won't be playing at the same time, everyone under le ritual thats not in the dance tent wont be playing at the same time, theres two main stages, weezer will play on one then Muse will play one on across from it as soon as they end. Like for example this is part of the schedule last year
http://i45.tinypic.com/sqgznt.jpg

Voodoo and playstation are the two main stages. Weezer would be in Janes Addictions spot and Muse in Kiss' spot.

Now if you want to get barrier you'll probably have to miss Weezer, though when I say miss you'll still be able to hear them fine and see them on the video screen on the voodoo stage (from what ive heard from asking around), so the wait wont be super boring and you'll sort of get to see them.

If the day by day is pretty much showing the order, I'd assume Jonsi and Weezer on playstation and Metric and Muse on Voodoo, I'd wait out and get a good spot for Jonsi, then go back over for Metric and wait out a spot for Muse from there (which hopefully should be easy with access to that LOA pit, considering how much I paid :fear: )

Oh, and im pretty sure the LOA pit is only on the Voodoo stage and not on the playstation stage, though it could be both.

Well I live in Georgia and right now it's low 90s, high 80s. I doubt October would have 90 degree weather. I think mid 80s at the most. Also my friend goes to school in NOLA and he said the same thing.

I've lived in every state from Louisiana to Florida and have seen the craziest weather patterns ever. Freezing at Halloween one year to it being so hot you almost didn't want to go trick or treating. Since most of us live in the south we know a thing to two about humidity. But NO probably has some of the worst humidity around. That works both ways though. If the high is 78-88 it's going to hot as fuck, but if it's 75 or below it could feel really cool. Last fall/winter was chilly down here anyways, so hopefully that will carry over to this year

Confirmed on twitter that theres gonna be 2 more adds to the main stage. Considering they didn't come with all the other adds, and that they'd be pretty insane to have Drake as the headliner with Ozzy on Saturday, I'm expecting a headliner level add to play with Ozzy. Soundgarden as we've all been guessing is still a possibility, and based on a ton of rumors ive heard and tour dates, I wouldnt be surprised at all if LCD Soundsystem is added. Phoenix's tour dates also fit perfectly. And someone mention the Kings of Leon, and while that add wouldn't do much for me at all (I dont care for them at all) I could see it happening.

This is good because schedule was looking a bit weak when split into days.

I will be interested in hearing your take on how the crowd differs from the UK to the US. There isn't as much of a following in the US (what can I say, we seem to be stuck on top 40 music here), so I'm wondering if the place will be as jammed packed as the pics/comments from the UK gigs or if there will be plenty of standing room in New Orleans. Needless to say, I bought VIP just in case there is a huge crowd at Voodoo:D (the most I've ever paid for a concert:$, but I want to be up front:D)

They piss in cups and throw it (happened to me at Manchester, yuck, and security guards said at Wembley that when Oasis did Wembley last year it was flying everywhere ahahaha) and are a lot pushier. Talk about getting crushed into the barrier! Even at festivals, where I have been better, U.S. crowds tend to be nicer and tamer, which I like. As it is I sprained my ankle at the Wembley barrier, and I saw loads of crying girls get pulled out! I think I got lucky because the area I was in wasnt bad. The friend I brought was standing the whole time with me and having a good time with me. Only other people in my row (Small row) were my dad and these two cool older dudes that talked to me about the two other times they saw Muse in Houston before the concert and they were saying how Knights is the best song ever  And there were some girls a row below that seemed pretty big fans, though I didn't pay much attention other than when one of them screamed "YEEES TAKE A BOW" when Matt played the intro before FG (Made me sad because I knew they werent going to play it :(). Up a bit and to the left, there was a big group of teens/young adults that were rocking out like crazy. Made me feel less awkward rocking out myself.

But its much more fun rocking out in a pit. After that and Phoenix (I so regret getting seating for Phoenix. I mean it wasnt bad, people around me were fine, but the pit just looked so much more fun. Phoenix is more of a dancing band and its much more fun to do that surrounded by other dancing people) I've decided to get standing for every concert unless I absolutely can't (And so far I've stuck to that)

"Tame US crowds" can still get pretty rough, but nothing to those UK stadium crowds. I got pushed around a ton at Manchester, and the first night at Wembley when I was right behind the barrier, I was very crushed and spent a lot of the time contorted in weird positions or only able to stand on one foot, etc. I just swayed with the crowd to make it easier. Hell, for Exo, I bent over backwards and took pictures upside down because I couldn't move. I've never been that crushed at a US show, even at the barrier at a fest for Oasis in 105 degree heat!

I think I might just have to get a purple wig and flashy glasses to wear like I did at Wembley the first night. :)

hahaha. I was thinking about getting a wig. My car broke down and I had to get it fixed so I don't have money now to build a costume. Next best thing: crazy colored wig.

I can't wait to dance like crazy to deadmau5. :)
God im so excited to see him. Now 2nd on my priority list behind Muse.

Muser dance party me thinks.

To everyone attending this show, what other (if any) Muse shows are you attending prior to this concert? I am a part of the traveling flag project and I believe there is someone at voodoo who can take the flag to Australia, so it needs to get there from California.

Lol, the flag is gonna get so nasty by the end of this. Good thing I signed it at Wembley!

I'm going to all the East Coast gigs, like NY, and ACL next month. If someone wants to get it to me at ACL (or ship it to me), I can then bring it to NY, NJ, NC, and VA, and then Voodoo, I guess... or someone else. I'm lazy anyways. Maybe I'll let Eri do it and then take it to Voodoo. And then I guess I'd need to know who to hand it off to at Voodoo....

You could just go see EoDM and not get barrier at the mainstage. Since you have VIP, it shouldn't be difficult to get a good spot. I've heard the crowd is quite relaxed (which may or may not be a good thing).

Not so worried about spots, no one on Saturday I really want barrier for (Really, just Muse and MGMT are the only ones im gonna try real hard to get barrier for, because i know with vip ill have a good spot no matter what), other more worried they'll conflict with Ozzy (Since they are probably the headliner of that stage they are on), headliner they add, or Florence or someone. If its like just with Drake or something, then I'd go see them, but im worried itll be against someone I care about.

Hi guys!

I'm in Alabama CRAZY DESPERATE to see the boys at Voodoo, but can't find anyone to go with me and am SO not brave enough to hit New Orleans Halloween weekend (and the festival) by myself.
Anyone have similar issues or would be interested in meeting up?

I'm in the same sorta situation. I'm from Florida and thinking about hitting up Voodoo. I've never seen Muse live, and this is their last US tour date. I HAVE to see them... but I don't know if I can. Driving isn't really the best option for me, but a flight is like $200+, plus a hotel, which could get expensive. I saw you all are sharing a room at the Marriott, but to be honest, I'd feel a little weird about sharing a room with total strangers. Not sure what to do...

Day by day friday according to latest v-log

Yup, definitely excited to see Metric

pretending theres no conflicts, these would be the people id see each day for sure

friday- muse, weezer, hot chip, kaskade, jonsi, innerpartysystem, eli paperboy reed, crookers, rusko, and AM

Saturday- Ozzy, Drake, Street Sweeper Social Club, Eagles of Death Metal, Florence, Crystal Method, Cage the Elephant, Die Antwoord, Kelis, Mynameisjohnmichael, the Whigs

Sunday- MGMT, Deadmau5, Interpol, My Morning Jacket, Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten, Airbourne Toxic Event, Minus the Bear, Janelle Monae, White Rabbits, Janelle Monae, Afrojack, Voice of Wetland Allstars, New Orleans Bingo Show, Trombone Shorty, Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights

Friday's lower part is really weak, but upper part is maybe the strongest with Muse, Weezer, Hot Chip, Kaskade, and Jonsi. Saturday has ok lower card but weak upper, really need a headliner to pin with Ozzy. Sunday is just good all around.

my top five is like- 1. muse, 2. deadmau5, 3. mgmt, 4. jonsi, 5. interpol

I'm actually from around Mobile (though I live in Los Angeles right now), and I'm flying home to see family and driving to New Orleans for VooDoo and Halloween. I'd love to meet up! I haven't met many Muse fans from the Southern Bama area, haha.

I really hate festivals (though, I do love VooDoo fest) because there's just sooo many people and you have to wait all day to see them, usually while standing up. If we get there really early, how are we supposed to eat, drink and take a piss? That's the only thing I'm worried about :\
