View Full Version : Revere
"London (UK) band REVERE incorporate violin, cello, keys, trumpet and harp into a guitar-led sound, touching on numerous musical reference points, combining elements of gypsy marches, klezmer, post rock, film scores and gospel into a truly unique sound.
Live, REVERE play with an unparalleled intensity, working songs from music-box soft openings into relentless walls of sound shot through with a show-stopping falsetto."
Anyone heard of these guys?
They have an album coming out soon and I've not heard a bad song by them yet. It's absolutely beautiful music. There's a Muse resemblance in parts, and Jeff Buckley too. If you like post-rocky stuff like Sigur Rós, Oceansize or Arcade Fire then you'll like them a lot (I hope).
Oh, and as well as being an amazing song, this video is just fantastic:

I've heard a lot about them via Amplifier and Oceansize but never really taken the time to check them out.
I will though.
STORM THE CHARTS HAS NOW BEGUN...! WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP FOR THIS TO MAKE AN IMPACT...
As of midnight on Saturday 27th June, during Glastonbury weekend, the Storm The Charts campaign has kicked in to action. As a result of you all voting for REVERE we were included in the final 40 bands to be pushed by the campaign in an attempt to fill the Top 40 with new, unsigned bands. Your vote has already made a huge difference, but we need your help to make it all worthwhile...
So what to do next...?
REVERE's new single, We Won't Be Here Tomorrow, is now available to buy online from a large number of online vendors including Amazon.co.uk and iTunes. To show your support for REVERE please purchase the single from one (or more than one if you're feeling very generous!) of the vendors listed below. Your support, when added to the efforts of the 30,000+ members of the Storm The Charts campaign group should help to raise REVERE out of obscurity and into the charts! To be eligible for this chart push you need to have bought the single by Midnight on Saturday 3rd July.
Amazon (£0.49 - Amazon are showing their support of the campaign by dropping the price of all the singles involved to 49p.)

This is a great opportunity for us to make a real impact. Your voting and support has got us to this point, and it will be great if we can take this all the way...
Thank you!
This being via the bbc 6 music campaign, which Revere have led the way on really.

I like. Kinda Sigur Ros-ey.
Need to get their debut.
They remind me a lot of Godspeed as well on the debut. I've published a Revere playlist on iTunes for anyone interested in getting into them, as they have released a lot of stuff over the past few years that didn't make the album but is just as good.
