I think they have a French one, pretty sure I came across the site a while ago. Think they had a magazine or something like that and a couple of competitions. If I find the link again I'll post but wouldn't know where to look now.
This is a great place to hint to somone to make one for UK/Ireland... *wink wink nudge nudge*

Makes you feel important. Makes them feel closer to the band. I dunno, I think they're all a bunch of mad stalkers...
Although being in a street team given free stickers with no relation to an underground band posted by the lead singer is more fun. [/Kinesis reference.]

I love fan clubs! I've been in a few over the years and I'm a member of the Franz Ferdinand one and The Killers one at the moment.
The main benifit of being in The Killers one was the pre-sale of the tickets for the UK tour in February. That saved a lot of stress!
With the Franz one, we got an exclusive 7" single (even if I cant actually play it)
Also, online stuff is great, but its still great to have a magazine come through your door every so often.
I was in a fanclub once and one of the benifits was that the band always did a meet and greet with fanclub members after the show. I love the idea of that. Also it gave us an address to send stuff to if we wanted to contact the band. At least we assumed it always got to the band...!!
I've always wanted to run a fan club. There was talk of me starting one up for another band I used to be really into but that never quite got off the ground...!

I use to be in the Depeche Mode fan club :$
I probably would join for the reasons Helen has given about meet and greets and presale tickets, I wouldn't tell anyone though :$

Yeah, the meet and greets were great. You'd turn up to the show and there would be a list on the merch stand. You would write your name and membership number on the list and it was the first 20 or 50 or however many people they could accommodate that day who would be allowed into the meet and greet after the show.
They also had a 'join now' type thing at the merch stand and lots of people would join there and then just to meet the band!

Couldn't be bothered to read the rest of this thread. Muse have already considered the idea of a fanclub (had the t-shirts printed and everything) but they just couldn't get past it being a boyband-esque money creaming scam that would never never provide the value for money that any subs would pay for (no one could agree on what to charge).
They ummed and ahhed for two years. When they changed management the idea was scrapped. And the things that would have been fanclub type stuff got done for the good of all (meet and greet comps, cool downloads etc.)
I doubt it's something that's really likely to resurface. At least it better not else Bellamy's a dead man. ;)

OK, what fan club? I would love to read every post on this thread to find the answer, but, alas, I have no time for that. So what do I mean by what fan club? Well, I am trying to buy tickets for the Paris show because what the hell, I'll be in the UK that week so what not take a the train to Pari'. BUT there was some sort of fan club sale. So that's why I have to ask, what the fook, what fan club? When did Muse get a fan club or have I been hiding under a rock for too long.
Or do you have to belong to that ticket site's club?
Thanks in advance for the info!

Well... we exist in differents sections of a message board, we spend time checking people's posts to see the latest muse news,, or the latest scary Matt Bellamy picture, we also beat the fuck out of anyone who mentions radiohead and muse in the same sentence..
I'd say we were fans... even if you don't like muse.
heh :)

A fanclub at this point would be great, especially if it give real fans priority tickets now that the band are hitting the heights they are and filling the stadiums, we were at Wembley and had shite seats and did a 500mile round trip and a 20 hr day for this!

If they'd had a fan club at Wembley they could have offered the golden circle tickets to them first, which would have been good for me as I couldn't arrive early!

there is a street team...and it is the official US one...
you can join if you are outside the US...and if US members get promotion materials they can always mail it out to you...
http://thestreetnetwork.sparkart.com/muse/index.php?noredirect=1
right now it is not too active b/c muse aren't touring in the US yet...but in month or two the board will be alive again and more missions will be posted to promote their US shows...up until November...
