The europeans are by far the most emotional over this, more amusing since they've been on that place the shortest time in comparison. Like you say, anyone whos not been a massive fan of the recent stuff could see it coming.

I only bought Make This Your Own a few days ago but I can't listen to anything else. OK, they've mellowed down a bit but my favourite song of theirs was Blind Pilots anyway so I really really like the album. A shame really because I could have been enjoying it for a year already. :(

It was shite. I don't why noobs like you don't get it. What was so good about it? Compared to the old stuff... no, not even compared to that it was bland bland bland. Comapre it to any of the shite albums of 2007 the last year and it won't feature. Why? Not because "oh it wasn't as bad as the arctic monkeys or the twang" Because it was unfortunately totally unmemorable. It wasn't brilliant but at the same time, what was there to draw it out from the background and make it stand out in any way? For good or bad there was nada. There is no way that anyone can argue that bands change, grow up, that that was what happened to the coopers and the 3rd album was an example of that evolved sound because it wasn't. It was a loss in sound and energy, polish and decent song writing. However much you polish a lump of coal you're not going to find a diamond.

It frightens me when people love the coopers for what they did near the end, and yet don't seem to understand what had made them so good back in the day. Because it was good in every sense of the word. Its just a shame they didn't quit whilst they were ahead and compromised with the record company. They've tarnished the legacy with that appalling record. I had hoped that it'd grow on me like KUTF had, but it hasn't, theres just nothing much there to grow.

The last year of the coopers existance makes me sad. :(

I had a dream the other night that involved them actually, I dreamt that I was in a small room with 4 of them (minus Fish) we were having a little chat, and I remember part of that conversation involved a "should we get back together" discussion and I was like "yeah, you are perfectly able to reform with just the four of you", and there was this little old piano in this room and we were singing random songs, and I was sat next to Tom and he was mouthing something to me but I couldn't understand what he was trying to tell me, and eventually I just gave up trying to understand him and rested my head on his shoulder.

So altogether it was bittersweet really :(

The first album is a lot more electronic, it has some great tracks on it, it has more energy etc, but the second one is much more rounded and altogether a better album.

Although it can be too close to call at times.
