I prefer the newer songs.... AFI has come into their own on the two latest albums... Sure, Sing The Sorrow is not as punk as the earlier but find another album that manages to cram as many ideas in while still staying as consistent as that album. It can move from Death Of Seasons to This Time Imperfect without losing it's unity.

I've had Sing The Sorrow for ages, and I just got The Art of Drowning a few days ago. I kinda knew that Sing the Sorrow sounded different to the other albums, but I didn't expect that much of a radical jump in the space of one album. I think it must be the more polished production of Butch Vig.

*Bump* since they've finally got a new album.

I personally love Decemberunderground. I didn't expect to really, I just bought it since my friend and I had tickets to see them, but it's really great. There are a few songs on it that are a bit on the scream-y side for my usual tastes, but they balance out nicely with just the right amount of Davey's usually melodic voice. "Miss Murder" is very catchy, but I think it's something different from them. I really like all the electronic influences as well on songs like "37mm." And I must say, they are just something to behold live. Wow.

It's fuckin' awesome. So much more energetic than DecemberUnderground, and so... powerful! Davey has got some extremely amazing vocals in this one.

I saw two of their concerts in October, one in RI, and one in MA~ They were amazing, and just... too good to be true! I think they melted my heart that day. :3

I've liked AFI since Art Of Drowning came out (that's when I first heard them, thanks to The Offspring <3) and I'm still a fan though I can't say I like Decemberunderground... Davey really shouldn't try to "scream" cause he really can't. It doesn't suit his voice. I liked Crash Love a lot though. But my fav album will always be Answer That And Stay Fashionable. I love their old stuff. 1995-2000 is just :awesome:

I saw someone ask if anyone is a DF fan club member, and I am. Been one since... I think 04? not sure.. Anyways... I don't go on their site much anymore so I have no idea what's going on with the DF.

But anyways, they'll always be one of my fav bands!

I felt the exact same way about Crash Love. It's now my second favorite album. Suggestion to all you Musers: Get Crash Love in .FLAC format and listen to it with a pair of good headphones. It will blow you away.

i love afi! and davey has always been cool thogh during the DU time he was a little too `oh well being a girl is fun` but that´s past now. CL is a good album thogh the best song is on the extra cd : fainting spells- such a kick ass song:) just makes me happy.
