Damn you lucky person/persons that got tickets, the bastards were all up on ebay for about 100 quid a piece by the time I got out of bed grrrrrr. I've seen Frank Black live three times now though so that kinda softens the blow a little bit (yeah, who am i trying to kid?!) er....i've forgotten what I was going to say.....oh yeah, i'm gonna go down to Brixton and try and get some tickets from a tout, I will get in dammit!

Also, I doubt you're interested but I shall plug away anyway lol, my band KunK are playing Club Riga in Southend on the 7th April and we'll be playing Monkey Gone To Heaven amongst our very own creations so come and check us out. :p :D

I adore them, have all their albums :) but i missed out on tickets, i believe there wasn't much notice about the exact dates before they went on sale, and they sold out in 2 fucking hours without me realising, while I was at bloody school. :( I was so sad when I came online that night and found out.

I'm going to V but only the day muse are playing, as I couldn't find anyone to go the next day when the pixies are playing, so I'm missing out then aswell :(

The Pixies are my favourite band ever. They are one of the most influential and and innovatice bands ever. Any band that has had such a huge impact on bands like Nirvana and Radiohead must be fucking awesome. Joey Santiago must be one of the most uderrated guitarists ever. My favourite songs are Hey, Mr. Grieves, La La Love You and River Euphrates.

Yup being an oldie, I was there the first time around. I can never understand why youngsters go on about Nirvana and kind of overlook Pixies... Nirvana to me were like "they're OK but they ain't Pixies! Just kind of imitating the sound"

Do you think they'll manage to make a new album without Charlie and Kim killing each other?!

hahaha just read that article! Did they argue so soon?

I think that Steven Cantor and Matthew Galkin didn't had the intention to make them look so bad, they've showed the truth I guess....:stunned:

About David, it's true, they did pictured him as a drunk with a absent mind but I think it had to do with the fact that his father died and from that point it went downwards with him. He's actually sad to watch in the documentary, because it seems like he's doesn't have anything to live for (except his magic trics and finding stuff at the beach). :)

Concerning the arguing, well.... there's not much arguing goin' on really, it's just the opposite, they don't talk much to each other at all. A bit sad really. :(

Anyway, I loved it !!! Long time ago I saw such a great documentary of a music group. :D

Okay this is really starting to bug the crap out of me.

I'm sure I got all the songs of the Pixies on my PC. But right now I've got one of their songs in my head. I didn't hear it often but it had a really catchy melody which i can recally crystal clear. I just don't know the lyrics (otherwise I could have googled it) I can only hear the singers mumble the words.

Please help! It starts with Frank sining one line and then Kim goes right over it and then she takes over half the song. It's really weird, the refrain starts after two couplet lines. It's quite a fast song and I don't believe it's on one of their albums.

Alt-rock kingpins the Pixies will make their live return to the U.S. this fall!

Frontman Frank Black tells SPIN.com that the Boston-born quartet will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking release, Doolittle, by playing the album in its entirety in Oakland, Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, New York City, and "maybe Montreal" this fall.

"I believe we're doing the Wang Center in Boston," he says of his hometown gig at the 3,600-capacity venue.

Exact dates have yet to be confirmed. The U.S. tour is expected to follow a run of Doolittle shows in Europe scheduled for October.

The gigs will coincide with the release of the Pixies' ambitious Minotaur box set, which will arrive in October on 4AD Records (order yours now via Artist in Residence).

Black notes that 2010 will mark the 20th anniversary of Bossa Nova, and didn't dismiss the idea of performing that album's songs back-to-back, too.

"We don't want to get blood out of a stone or anything. It's not like we're seeking offers -- but the phone just always rings." One recent call was a proposal to open for Neil Young at the U.K.'s Isle of Wight festival this past June.

"You get that phone call and you go," enthuses Black. "Neil Young? Yeah, I'll be there; I'll sing the old songs -- sure!"

I'm so excited for this I can hardly contain it. I'm finally going to see The Pixies live!

What the fuck they would have been in Stockholm three weeks ago! AAAAAAARGH. No one told me. I regularly listen to them and some of Frank Black's solo stuff as well (mainly Teenager of the Year).

I'd love to see them live, but I don't think I can afford flying to any of these countries, since I really have to save up money...

Well, you have fun, Kid B...

I really want to see them in Glasgow, but not sure if they are only playing Doolittle. I love that album, but paying 30 quid I'd like to hear songs from Surfer Rosa and Bossanova too.

They are certainly supposed to be doing the Doolittle show for the 4 London dates, but I have no idea about the others.

I'm fucking chuffed as that means I'll probably get to hear Manta Ray, which is probably my favourite Pixies song. :awesome:

I really like Pixies.

...The way he sings is insane but unique.

And that's the reason I like the band.

Is she weird??? version BBC is absolutely insane.

and I still don't know "Where is my mind?"

Was at first night of tour in Dublin, set was like 1 hour 5 minutes, consisting of Doolittle and 6/7 B-sides.

I hope you're joking? Seriously? The tickets aren't exactly cheap, surely they'd play a decent setlist.

Not joking in the slightest.

Dancing the Manta Ray
Bailey's Walk
Weird at My School
Manta Ray

All of Doolittle, running order as per album

Encore: Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf), Into the White

Thats all ye get. Don't get me wrong, its amazing hearing some of those album tracks live, actually, its all amazing, bar the length.

:( Oh well, I'm sure it'll still be brilliant. Really want to hear some Surfer Rosa tracks though.

Manta Ray is probably my favourite Pixies song, so I'm dying to hear that on the 9th.

Shame that they don't tack some non-Doolittle stuff on at the end though. :(
I'll be especially annoyed if I feel short changed as I'm missing another gig that I'd love to be going to that night.

Yeah, as gunner said, hearing some Surfer Rosa would be amazing.

Either way, they'll still be brilliant! Have fun!

Was thinking about whether to get a last minute ticket but I think I'll pass on it now, judging from the length of their sets.

I'm seriously thinking of binning off the gig on Friday and seeing Masters of Reality instead, partly due to the set length. :(

I was considering going to the Frankfurt gig but blew that little extra money I had on the Tinmuff trip.

It makes me feel a bit better to hear it's really a Doolittle tour. I mean, it's awesome for the hardcore fans but I'd like to hear other songs as well.

The Holiday Song
Nimrod's Son
Caribou
Vamos
Isla de Encanta
Broken Face
Something Against You
Where is My Mind

The encore in Scotland. Looks like they've taken the Irish bitching and done something about it. Least saw them in tiny venue(bout 8 times smaller than Glasgow venue)

Went to see them at Glasgow SECC on Sunday night.

I like the Pixies but they weren't very good. They were lack lustre and unenthusiastic. Unless you absolutely love them - don't waste your money.

I hope I'll see them at a smaller gig someday - I'd definately go x

Thats why I don't mind the shorter set I saw in Dublin, as was much smaller venue, so everyone was close enough to the band.
