Just thought I'd give this band a quick mention.
I know a few people on here have heard their music before and they are a thoroughly underrated band.
"A Fine Day To Exit" and "Natural Disaster" albums are both pretty good, a nice mixture of doomy slow metal, more catchy faster stuff and atmosperic-rock. I recommend them.

I have heard most of "A Fine Day To Exit" and "Natural Disaster" though the only one I actually have is "Alternative 4" still good though
I only have "A Fine Day To Exit" but it is one of my favourite...accidental-random-buys ever. Very underrated band.

i really love anathema! i'm glad that there's even a small thread devoted to them. :) i really love "sentient," "inner silence," "angelica," "radiance," and several others!

I adore anathema their music is superb :) and my favourite will always ben "empty"

I've been listening to Anathema loads since seeing them support Porcupine Tree a while back, and they've become one of my favourite bands. Their recent stuff is better than most of what Radiohead have done in my opinion. But I've been listening to a lot of their early albums as well.. they're just as good! Totally different style of music, but still great. The original version of The Silent Enigma is such a good song. Argh I'm rambling now. So I leave. :p

My boyfriend was at the Metalcamp festival thingy a few weeks ago and he bought me the anathema album "resonance 2". Wow, its so different from most of their other stuff. Much darker and similar to My Dying Bride so woo a good thing :D. The album does have one of my two favourite songs by them. Empty and Fragile dreams :D.

I thought Alternative 4 was the best until I heard A Fine Day to Exit. I know it's very Floyd-ish but that's one of the reasons it's so gorgeous. Release is tooooo beautiful.

I think they're holding out to get the best they can. For what they play, Anathema are pretty damn well known, so they can probably afford to hold out a little and get a really good deal.
They're awesome. I like the few albums i have from them, and they were ace when I saw them live supporting Porcupine Tree

Apparently these guys have a new album out "before the end of the year" called Everything.
Not sure if they have a new record deal yet or if they are releasing it themsleves :erm:

I love Anathema, my fav album is Judgement, i love both their doom metal vein and their atmospheric rock

Yep. It's pretty good. It was mixed by Steven Wilson so it ought to be good! Probably one of the best albums of the year so far.

I've got Alternative 4, Judgement and Fine Day to Exit, love them all. Brilliant stuff.
I've never heard their new album, but after the praise in here, I'm tempted to go and get it! :D
