Les Rallizes Dénudés are the heaviest and most psychedelic band ever. I also like Fushitsusha and a few of the aforementioned bands (Melt Banana and Boris in particular).

They sound pretty intense! I like what i've heard so far. Driving bass and waves of almost unlistenable guitar feedback! :D

Mono and Envy are my favourite Japanese bands.
I used to like Dragon Ash and B´z ages ago.I still think that Tak Matsumoto is a great guitarist.
If we´re also including videogame composers,I´d like to add Yuzo Koshiro and Yasunori Mitsuda.

This is probably my favourite live album ever. The amount of feedback they use is just insane.
I don't think they actually have an official albums out, haha. Just various bootlegs, but the sound quality is thankfully more than listenable on most of them.

The only Japanese band I'm familiar with is Buffalo Daughter. Heard them on a college station years ago and thought they sounded groovy, so bought an album. I have 2 of their cds now. They're different than what I normally listen to, but perhaps it's similar to other Japanese bands. I haven't really explored the genre much so I have no frame of reference.

Did anyone see Miyavi last night? He really is. Very unique.
Japanese music is incredible. It was one of the distractions from Muse towards the end of my high school days and the many experiments in music. Coming out of college the music that stuck most was JRock and various rock, and was just getting back into Muse. And that's how it's stayed.
Gackt is also incredible. Lots are! Hell, i wont list em XD
