My plan for the day:
7.00 - Get up, showered, dressed etc.
8:45 - Walk to the coach station
9.25 - Board coach with nibbles, mp3 player and maybe a book.
13.50 - End up in Sheffield!
13.55 - Hail a taxi down by jumping infront of it cos those buggers won't stop!
14.10 - Will hopefully be at hotel.
14.20 - Unpack everything and maybe have a little sleepie.
16.30 - Get up, get ready for le gig and find a nearby pub. Meet up with everyone.
18.30 - Queue for a while, get into Arena, buy merch which I probably don't need and wander around.
19.15 - Find my seat and wait for the gig to start.

those of you seated "behind" the stage should have a a good view except when the risers go up and down as there was nothing high behind the stage. i was in line with stage on Chris's side at stockholm and when the risers went up, i couldn't see matt at all. he was either hidden on top of his, or hidden by the others. he did come over to our side for a rock out though :D.
there's someone video here which shows you the set up pretty well.

Hi.. so does anyone know the seating plans/ stage set up yet? I'v been reading the threads of it, but no one has said anything definite...
If you go on the arena website it has the seating plan...
http://www.sheffieldarena.co.uk/Booking%20Information/Seating%20Plan/Muse%20Seating%20Plan/
so do you reckon it'll be just the normal end stage??? After all the center stage talk, it's a bit disappointing i think.. but im sure they'll have something amazing lined up
Thankss

the stage is semi circular at the front instead of straight across. the seats alongside the stage and slightly "behind" were sold when they would normally be left empty.
those of you seated "behind" the stage should have a a good view except when the risers go up and down as there was nothing high behind the stage.

there's someone video here that someone took from further along and higher up which shows you the set up pretty well. obviously the set may change slightly for the bigger arenas but it gives a good idea.

Actually that's really helpful, thanks!
So that means I'll be on...Chris' side, nice! Will be nice to see the man properly. My view at Earls Court when I last saw them was awful, was constantly watching the screen whilst little flea-sized Matt and Chris bopped about.
So does that mean the people at the top get a little more 'personal' with the band since the lads on top of the structures?

BTW - I *may* have two spare standing tickets going spare for this, more likely than not anyway. if you're looking for some, email me at my username @gmail.com :)

We're in Block 115 because my bf didn't want to stand. I've often been in the equivalent of Block 119 or 120. You miss out on some of the stage show but you're sooooo close.
I've got to drive up from Oxfordshire that afternoon, so the M1 had better behave. :indiff:

Sheffield gig is gonna be super special for me... I was at the Sheffield arena back in march for an exhibition walking around thinking that it would be great to see muse there. Got back to my hotel that night and turned on my computer to find the announcement about the UK autumn tour

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH next week!!!!!!!!
So, I know I keep on bringing this up but I reckon we should have a meet place for before/after - I suggest the Arena Square pub (Table Table) across the roundabout from the Arena - it's across the road from the Etap hotel where most people are staying and it's a nice little pub... people often go and have a drink in there after an event so the Arena car park has to time to empty.
If people want my number then PM me - I've already arranged to meet with a couple of people but it'd be nice to get as many boardies as possible. Obviously I realise the barrier peeps that queue from 6am can't meet but before but after getting crushed to death at V I've decided to do seating from now on so I can amble along whenever :D
We'll need to sort out times as well, be nice ot have some tea or lunch beforehand, few drinks and spaff lol xxx
Not long to go now :) I saw in another thread people mentioned chanting MK Ultra during the encore to get them to do it, we should definitely try this. Being the first UK night and all they might just give in.
I'm seated in block 206 by the way :D

I'm so excited for this. I'm an American currently studying abroad in Bristol in the UK and I"ve been trying for weeks to try and get tickets to see Muse, regardless of where they are playing. They've been #1 on my list to see for what seems like whatever now, and I'm so excited that it'll be this Wednesday that I can finally do it! WOOOOOOOOOOO
I'm getting in from the train at around 3PM on that Wednesday. I don't care about getting right up front obviously, but would you recommend that I pretty much line up right away or will I still have time to get some food/drink before hand? (Side question, do they have an opener?)

Would be nice but it depends if they're going stright to their next gig I think. And it also depends on how many people are actually going to do there, if there is loads I think they'll maybe make and break.

Will see what everyone elses plans are ok. Dont think I'll do any stalking, it's very unlikely they'll meet fans outside during the UK gigs mind :(
One can dream...
And I'll be going to the Rotterdam date too so :awesome:
So is everyone okay with having the Arena Square pub the official meet place? It's very central and the place everyone goes for pre/post-drinks :D I went with the parents before and after Michael McIntyre and it was a great atmosphere.

Timings for Muse are as follows (timings are intended as a guide only and may be subject to change):
6.30pm Doors Open
7.30pm Support
8.05 pm Muse
10.30pm Event ends
Somehow I really can't see it being 2 1/2 hours for Muse and only 20 mins for support (given the fact they will take atleast 15 mins inbetween) :stunned:...I wish

I must say I am getting a little exited now :D
plus it'll be the first time I see Muse in my home city (wasn't a fan in 2006:$ ) or anywhere remotely near me as I've pissed about travelling everywhere for my previous 2 encounters with Mr Bellamy & co, also my first indoor gig with them but I doubt the fact that i chose end block seating rather than standing will diminish my enthusiasm  I chose seated mainly to guarentee the best view but also you always seem to get stood next to some really posh twit young lad who is "utterly gazeboed" with his shirt off, annoying curly hair and all his friends think he's "absolutly spiffingly hillarious" because he shouts out various tv adverts catchphrases now and again in a voice that after the 6th time of him shouting it and his moron friends (who he probably paid for their ticket to go) laughing can lead to some dark thoughs going through your head  so Q plenty of "GO COMPAARE" and "UP YOUR VIVA" in the toff section but not to worry I'd watch Muse in a room full of Heaton students as long as the gods themselves are onstage I'll take any rough with the smooth (as I'll have to on wednesday sitting through the big pink :noey: )
But anyway I want everyone to come to Sheffield, have a great night, unfortunately there's bugger all on in Sheffield on a Wednesday night, monday or friday Corp would have been amazing but skool disco wednesday is usually pretty dead :( but I'm sure everyone will be that buzzing still nothing will bring you down :)
so here's to Muse kicking off their UK leg in spectacular fashion :musesign:
and for anyone coming from further a field get into sheffield, buy a bottle of Hendersons relish, a Star newspaper and a Sheffield Wednesday shirt and you'll be loved by all... or me at least ;)
peace out peoples

I'm already packing! Just tried on a few outfits; one for the gig and one for drinks afterwards and I'm taking some serious tablets after my fall the other day in the shower.
Btw, anyone want my mobile number? Found the charger...was behind the seattee :shifty:
Don't really fancy wandering around Sheffield by myself and feeling left out since I don't know anyone
*Oh, you can also come knocking on my room door too, just so I can put a name to a face.

Can I bring a camera?
The unauthorised use of cameras, mobile phones, video or any other form of recording equipment is strictly prohibited. Occasionally small instamatic cameras are permitted but we do not advise that customers bring them to concerts as it's usually the case that they are prohibited.
thats from the Sheffield site,,,,,,,,, is it bullshit lol ???

If you stagger in with a huge bastard DSLR with mega-lens and a bag of associated gubbins, chances are you'll get it confiscated. Having said that, loads of people with nice kit seem to have no problem. Since most people have cameras on their phones, security are usually only after professional-looking gear.
Weather forecast: Wednesday day - bright, 10 C
Wednesday night - light showers, 4 C
Not too bad...

What's the latest it'll finish?
Just trying to work out a timetable for train/taxi home.
Our last train out would be 11:15 and we want enough time to get to the station with a bit of leeway.
Otherwise it's hiring a car/taxi for a long journey.

The plan (for those who don't know):
Before the gig: 5pm-ish at the Arena Square pub, across the roundabout from the Arena itself and diagonal from the Etap hotel.
After: whenever people get there, I'll be going to try and meet the boys again afterwards and actually get a picture this time lol then I'll be in the pub. Meeting some boardies there already, it's the usual place people go for a drink to wait for the car park to empty lol.
If anybody wants my number PM me :)

The last Muse gig in Sheffield Arena I had a camera in my bag and got checked, told not to take pictures and moved along (I was standing).
The next gig I went along I just put it in my pocket, wrapped my hoody around my waste, no search.
I'm debating wearing some sequined trainers (converse style) and also debating facepainting my ltd Edition album number on me somewhere, dunno yet. I'm still a bit nervous about going and being disappointed after all these years of following them around like a lost puppy.

Sheffield Arena's website states approximate times, 10.30pm but will probably be later. You'll be able to judge the time from when they come onstage.

This Wednesday I'm going to the Muse concert in Sheffield for the first time. I was wondering at what hour should I go to be in the first row or maybe the firsts ones. What about going early in the afternoon, what row would be that? Anyone with previous Muse Sheffield concerts experience can help me?
Thank you

Well, I've never been one to queue at shows (I always get seating tickets), but from what I've seen at shows in the past, some of the die-hards tend to get to the venue early in the morning (at the Royal Albert Hall they got there the night before and queued through the night!). If you are intent on standing by the stage you might consider getting there as early as you can.
You might want to ask in the sheffield thread
http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?t=61670&page=114
If you want to be at the front you should start queueing in the morning.

Try 5:30am for Teignmouth. :awesome:
There's probably not that much point in queuing for an insane amount of time. All the selfish people will push forward/push everyone else out of the anyway...
