For all of us going to the U2 gig to see MUSE!!! :D Who here is going????
And BTW, on a different note, does anyone have 2 extra GA Floor tickets I can buy from you??? Or, is anyone willing to switch their GA Floor tix for two $30 seated tickets?? (I would of course pay you the difference)
THANKS! :)

And also.. I LOVE getting my friends/family addicted to Muse!! I made a top 20 list of my fave Muse songs for my older brother, he's 27, and he loved all of it and then bought tickets to the Raleigh show!! Woot :D yay for cultivating the Muse army :D

Anybody else going to the Raleigh, NC show ft. Muse on the U2 360 tour? I am. Muse is the only reason I am going. I am not a big U2 fan, but hey if its the only time Muse is coming to the US, I would like to see them perform.
BTW, why are the U2 360 tour dates where Muse is performing not on the Tour Dates section of the website? Only the Resistance tour dates are there (which btw, I wish some of those were in the US )

I sort of missed the ticket wagon on this one... when the dates were first announced, I just couldn't stomach taking myself to a U2 show, but now as the new album approaches, I can't stop myself. I'm going to Raleigh, but floor tickets seem to be sold out...does anybody have just one floor ticket they're looking to re-home? I'm not sure I could bear to be stuck way up in lord knows where with no other Muse fans around me.

I last saw U2 a very, very long time ago, back in the days when they didn't have huge sets or lightshows. They blew the roof off back then so I can't begin to imagine how amazing it's going to be in October! Really starting to get excited now.....:)

Wow, that's hardcore. But I totally understand! At the beginning of the summer, I was swearing that I'd put my passport to good use and visit the UK just to see Muse (friends were a little worried for my sanity when they realized I was serious). This show is going to be my first!

I think we are going to this show. I dont have tickets yet and am I looking at different places to get floor tickets.
My sis likes U2. We seen them before on the popmart tour and they are very good live but I'm not a fan.
So if anyone hears/sees of floor tickets being sold at a reasonable price let me know.

There's a buy/sell ticket thread somewhere on here, you might take a look but last I checked most of what they have is for UK tour dates. Maybe the U2 fans have their own forum thing and ticket threads - at this point, you might have a better chance to buy a spare ticket off of one of them, as I imagine there will be a lot more U2 fans at the gig than Muse fans. Good luck.

I ended up doing the stubhub thing as well. Maybe overpriced, but oh well. I'm still just a bit paranoid that I'll get down there and find my ticket is a very, very good fake. It looks real. It feels real. It tastes like a real ticket. But is it real real? Better be.

Stubhub has a fan protect guarantee.
In the event the Buyer encounters any problems at the venue, the Buyer is encouraged to call StubHub Customer Service immediately at 1.866.StubHub (1.866.788.2482) for assistance. If the Buyer contacts StubHub from the venue at the time of the event, StubHub will attempt to locate comparable replacement tickets for the buyer.
But how do they get the new tickets to you?

I have a feeling that, if they can find a comparable replacement, they probably contact Will Call at the venue and get you a ticket; or maybe they contact Ticketmaster or whoever tickets were sold through, and then you pick them up at Will Call. Of course, by the time you're finished playing phone tag with Stubhub and waiting in the Will Call line and all that mess, by the time you get in Muse is probably finished their set :(
But the chances of something like that happening are slim to none (I hope) :D

Due to prior obligations that morning, our caravan won't arrive until 6pm at the earliest. Knowing that it would be impossible for all 4 of us to get from SC to Raleigh at an early enough time for great floor spots, I went ahead and bought tickets behind the stage (which, if Muse gets the same 360 setup as U2, I'm hoping will be awesome).
And when Muse comes next year *fingers crossed*, I hope to earn a spot on the floor with all the hardcore fans. :D

I'm flying in Friday night so I can get up early Saturday and go wait in line because I've heard U2 fans are really dedicated?? Just how early do we have to show up to get a great spot?

Depends on where you want to stand. They have the inner circle that holds 2800 people. Heard you can usually get into the inner circle up until showtime but the stage is over 6ft high so that killed it for me. U2 fans will camp overnight if allowed if not they will get there 5am or so. By noon I'm sure the line will be a thousand + - if it is anything like the other cities. I'm really short so I just want somewhere that I can see without my face pressed into someone's back.

Of the Muse fans who are thinking to arrive uber early, is there anyone who is interested in trying to meet up and get in line together in a big happy Muse group? Normally I'd be jiggy with getting in line at 7 a.m. for a show, but I'm used to having a friend or two as company and I'm going to this gig alone :( The thought of sitting out there for twelve hours by myself with nothing but U2 fans on either side of me is likely to drive me insane.

Thanks for that clip — it was really helpful. Why is the stage so incredibly high?? I'm torn about where to stand now. On one hand I want to be in front and on the other, I don't want to be staring at metal for 45 minutes while listening to Muse.
Where do the people who get there at 5am head for when doors open?

YES. Get a bunch of us together at the front of the line and lead a merry charge for the barricade as soon as gates open (although what's this about the stage being so high that folks on the barricade can't see the show?). I think it would be awesome to 1) have a big Muse turn out, and 2) stick together in a big group of Muse-i-ness and make sure the guys see us, preferably up close.
We really need to organize something, ya know? Like, find the spot that's as close as one can get without being too close to see anything, and then unfurl some massive "MUSE FANS HERE" sign with an enormous downpointing arrow. I absolutely can't stand being the only fan of an opener all by myself, jumping and flailing around like crazy, while all the other people around me just stand there staring. Pit flailage is so much funner in groups :D

I'm also very worried about being freaked out byt the U2ers  I've never been to the venue so I can't recommend a good meeting place, but I guess the general idea would be if you are a Muse fan and you have a brilliant spot in line, and you see other Musers about, act like you know them and you've been saving their spot while they went to the bathroom or whatever...I don't know how the U2 fans will feel about other cutting the line, so maybe enough of us just need to get together beforehand and get in line all at once, so no U2 folks get upset? Or something. I don't know.

YES! I am all for getting all the muse fans into one area in GA. We can pretend we're at a real muse show. After seeing them open for my chemical romance and getting dirty looks for stepping on feet and actually enjoying myself, I think that's a great idea. How do we organize though? We have to be subtle about it, I think.

Well, we can start generating a list of folks who want to get together early, and once we see how big a group we have, we can agree on a meeting time and spot. I feel like if we want to meet up before lining up, it would be best to get together in the parking lot, yeah? Have a big sign on top of someone's car or something maybe? Soooooo....
It irritates the piss out of me when I wait at a venue all day and there's a group in front of me that lets not one, not two, but ten or fifteen or more people join in with them throughout the day, cutting the rest of the group. Because of this, I think it would be more proper - or, ahem, pwoper - for everyone who would like to be part of our cozy little Muse family to meet up before queueing (sp?).
So for anyone who wants to be a part of the squishy fluffy wholesomeness that will be (hopefully) our big Raleigh Muse family, say so. It would be highly optimal to meet up before getting in line, so we don't piss off fans behind us by letting people cut in and join us all day. A few stragglers would be okay, it's no big deal if one or two people discreetly join in. As Jenipuh put it, if there were enough of us, we could pretend we're at a real Muse show. As opposed to being three and a half of us drowning in a throng of U2 fans, blatantly aware that Muse is just the opener *sniff*
So speak up if you're interested and we'll firm up an official plan type thing. I want to see all of your smiling shining faces in Raleigh. Big groups are more noticeable, and the more people Muse notice, the more they'll be inclined to spend time in the states. This is highly desirable.

Okay, so I live near Charlotte, and the concert's in Raleigh. People are flying to a different COUNTRY to see Muse, and my stupid rents probably aren't going to let me go because a/it's two hours away b/the tix are expensive c/its at a college stadium d/i have no other muse fan friends (although this discussion mayy help me convince them) e/Muse may not come here during their Resistance tour and I don't want to miss that, so I want to fly wherever's closest to that.
Anyone have good bribes for the rents? What about good links to cheap (real) tickets? Or if there's going to be a lot of college people there 'getting it on'? OR even if you think they'll come here soon. Goodness I'm such a mess! I'm reading about all of you going and I'm tearing up because I'm missing my chance!
If I do get to go, then I would LOVE to get together with Musers. My mom's hardcore so she said she would like to take me, but my stupid father and brother butted in saying that it's two hours away, expensive, and theres college people there. But it's MUSE

I think they were around $50 or so through ticketmaster but now $100+.
I heard you can walk up and down the GA line and ask for extra tickets and usually find people with spares. But I guess that is big risk after driving 2 hours.
www.ezticketsearch.com has some for $105 and I have used that site multiple times.
Stubhub.com has some from $99.
btw - u2 crowds are generally older. Maybe 40's and lots of families come together.

How old are you? You will be with your mom so that is safe right?

Check U2.com, fans selling GA/seating tickets at face value. Check out interference.com as well. No need to buy off scalpers.
The U2 crowd would be a lot more mature than Muse gig-goers, no ignorant pushing, people respect your space etc.

I was reading a random u2 forum and someone emailed the stadium people and were told line up begins at 10am.
So I'm sure u2 fans will form a line somewhere and number themselves...
OH NO, I hate the stupid numbering thing. and that means that they will probably begin camping October 1st, hahah

I'm slightly kidding. If they decide to do the numbering I hope it is fair for everyone not like Cure fans.

I wonder if they will enforce the 10am lineup or can we get around that.
I'm going to look for an email to the stadium and figure out if we can even park before 10am. If we do lineup early hope there are bathrooms around!

for your first muse show? i would say wait for GA. seats just don't cut it for a lot of people, myself included. i got 2 GA tickets on ebay the other day for $220 -- kinda pricey, but i needed tickets before booking my flight. also it seems like this date isn't as popular as some of the others so i'm sure you can find them for cheaper as the show nears!

I'm going to the show. I like U2 a lot and have for a number of years, but Muse is the reason I'm attending. This will be the first time I've seen them live and I am SO excited. Good point. Hrm. I've never been to this place, so I have no idea what's what. For starters, as far as bathrooms go I'm sure there will be something around. If not, in the past I've done it where someone holds my place in line and I drive to the nearest fast food place/starbucks/place w. restroom.
I also am wondering about parking...I've been to shows where if they didn't want people lining up until 10, they wouldn't open the parking lot until 9:30.
Unless we can find out something definite, I would propose exchanging cell #s beforehand and everybody just try to get the best place in line whenever we're allowed to lineup and whoever gets in line first the rest can join them? I hate to do that, the line skipping thing, but if there are only a handful of us it wouldn't be a huge deal, right? I can't count the number of times I've seen that and nobody's thrown a fit over it or anything.
If we're already lined up by 9am, I think I'm bringing a sleeping bag

I think what's going to happen is those who can and want to be there early to wait in line together will do that, and I am kind of thinking it would be cool to sort of decide on a general area of the floor and tell people who are arriving later to try and make their way to said spot once in. Although I'm hearing there's an inner circle type thing that fills up quick, I'm don't know how easy it is to get into that once it fills up. But I really don't know squat about the venue, so it's all rather up in the air. Some of us are thinking to exchange cell #s and do lots of massive calling and texting to try and herd everybody into one spot.

The inner circle doesnt usually fill up until right before showtime. So those who come in later in the evening can get in.
I think it doesnt fill up as fast because a lot of people don't know how to get in. You have to run to the back of the stage to enter it.

Hey,
I would be interested in a meetup also. Just got back from the concert in Giants stadium in New Jersey. Awesome performance by Muse, though very short. Not too many people in the stands, which kind of sucked. The inner pit was full for their concert, but I also think the inner circle was only for the red zone people (though I am not positive). I was unable to get GA tix for NYC concert, but was able to for Raleigh, so I am super excited. Keep us posted on details for a meetup. Thanks.

i ended up going to the show at giants stadium on the 24th. it was a last minute decision because i was in nyc anyway with a friend. we got there around 5ish and the line was suuuuper long. the problem was, it was just a huge mass of people spread across 5 or 6 gates waiting to get patted down and searched. i don't know how the raleigh venue works, but if it's the same then there's really no way to keep everyone in proper order. so i don't know how the line is going to work or if it's even worth showing up early just to get screwed out of your spot once everyone crowds in.
i was about 8 or 9 people back in the inner circle in front of chris and i had no problems seeing. i would have preferred to be even closer. the entrance to the inner circle is close to the back of the stage so you have to follow the outside edges to get to it. i didn't participate in the mad dash after getting my ticket scanned, but it definitely looked dangerous!

the inner circle is for anyone who has a GA ticket and is not RED ZONE. RZ sections are on the sides of the stage, there is a RZ1 and RZ2. To get RZ tix you have to have won the auctions that were being run on ticketmaster.

Hey, I wanted to get an idea of how many Muse fans would be at the Raleigh show. I would assume that it may be less than New York, but perhaps the fact that the Raleigh show is located in a college town might bode well for Muse fans showing up. The videos of the NY concerts didn't seem awe-inspiring in terms of fan participation (jumping up and down/singing with the band). I guess this is to be expected as it is a U2 concert.
Additionally I had 2 friends bail out on me. So I have two additional GA tickets if anyone wants them (at face value of course). I'll be at the concert early, so if you want them we can do the transaction face to face at the venue. I would definitely prefer a Muse fan to make sure more people are jumping during the show. Email me at dannyjcpa@gmail.com if you are interested.

Excited to see U2, ECSTATIC to see Muse! Maybe if there are just a few of us Muse fans in CFS, Muse would be willing to have a section designated for us. We can only wish! Enjoy everyone!

I think you will be ok if you bring a camera to the event. Every show of the U2 tour so far fans have been able to bring in high definition video cameras. I even saw one guy with a tripod at his seat. So i don't think you will have a problem getting a camera into the show. I am definitely staying for U2 (even though I am coming for Muse). U2 are one of the biggest bands in the world, and always have very interesting concepts/lights/effects during their shows. Their last few albums kinda blow, but it my opinion Achtung baby is one of the all time great albums.

Security can be kind of iffy with parking etc...(most are off duty cops or HP officers) but I say try anyway over at the fairgrounds. It is literally across the street from parking. They won't start messing with traffic patterns until about noon (people will get there and line up in their cars to get in and wait until 3pm to pile into the parking lot). There is also a sound and light ordinance within city limits that prohibits concerts going past 11pm...but I have been to many shows here and at Walnut Creek where they have delayed and in weird circumstances even got permission from the Governor's Office to play past midnight due to a bad weather situation. That was for Steve Miller at Walnut Creek...so I am sure Muse/U2 would qualify. :)

The fairgrounds are right next to the stadium. It will be a little bit of a hike, but not much further than if you ended up at the back of the parking lot!
I called because they provided a number in case you were planning to camp out. I'm not doing that, but I have to figure we can get into the grounds early... I'll probably be there around 9 or 10 to at least try it!
FYI, here's the link to the info: http://www.gopack.com/ViewContent.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=9200&CONTENT_ID=98694

I'm new to North Carolina (came here for school) and thought I'd never be able to watch a great gig ever again!
Anyway, I read the Ticketmaster alert too and think that $20 is ridiculous for the parking fee. I'm originally from Los Angeles and I expect to pay that sort of price, but surely not in North Carolina?
Anyone have any alternative parking suggestions?

Hi there, where do you go to school?
If you scroll back a page or two, someone posted about parking at the fair grounds next to the stadium.

They will charge you at the entrances before you even get to the parking lots. The Fair Grounds AND Stadium parking are all together...they are right beside each other...there are several streets around the fairgrounds and RBC Center (next door) and Carter Finley is right in the middle of both of these. Be CAREFUL parking on these side streets...our HP's are relentless for towing cars, etc. around this area. I have been here my whole life and NEVER had to pay more than $10 for a space at any show anywhere...they are REALLY just trying to capitalize on the attendees this time.

You could always wait til they do their own US tour in the spring, there is a chance the prices might drop a bit when they are solo. :)
I know but they may not come near NC on their US tour. Do you think someone'll sell TShirts on Ebay? I'll pay full price for one!

are GA-ers still meeting up? i'm re-thinking the whole 'get there in the morning' thing because of pictures i've seen of the various lines and my own experience at giants stadium. i'd rather get there near door time and be happy about getting close than get there super early and be pissed because people cut/security people are slow/etc. BUT i still like the idea of a big group of musers in the pit! what's everyone else doing?
and no alcohol in the stadium? how is the venue going to make money?!

what does that mean?
The fairgrounds is having a hunter jumper horse show starting at 8am.
So it might be busy over there.
jenipuh - I hope we are still meeting up. It will be nice to be around other Muse fans so we can get excited together. Would feel weird being in the crowd and just 3 of us cheering.
If it is raining hard in the morning I might wait it out...but we plan on getting there early. I think.

i still think a meetup would be fantastic. i feel the earlier the better, but if people would rather wait til closer to door time, that's cool, too. the 'gate f is your friend' thing and entrance to the inner circle thing have me anxious and hoping i can at least be lost and disoriented with fellow musers. if anyone wants to exchange cells or anything pm me and we can do all that :)

My daughter and i are going and staying in a nearby hotel. I am so excited to see Muse, after I missed them for their other tours that have come through! I've been a fan since Absolution. We have seats for the show, so we probably won't make it down to the floor, hope it's not too far from the stage...
We're driving up from Spartanburg, SC on Saturday. I WILL be wearing my Muse t-shirt, and I too hope there will be lots of us there!

Gate F is the best way to enter in for parking, but after looking at the map...I see that they are calling that a different gate...so I am now not even sure if they are going to open that entrance up...not trying to be evasive...trying to be helpful.
They also won't allow and banners, signs or large flags in and they will take them...experienced that myself.

Anyway where is the Meet up and the Tailgating happening.
I really Wish Muse was the Headliner or I was seeing them in the UK with a crowd like was at Wembley for HAARP.
Must make the best of it. We will be there early and sporting the Muse T-Shirt and a New Zealand Hei Matau WhaleBone Fishhook. and I'm probably annoying you guys by now, but I have to try one more time:
would one of you that is going buy me a shirt and I pay you back full price? And even shipping if you live far away from me. I really would like a shirt saying all of the US dates, but I've never bought anything over forums before, so you'll have to be patient and tell me exactly what to do. Or if you know a website where someone's selling shirts for this tour? Or the tour they did with MCR in 2007? I suppose I can try ebay after they leave but I really want one. You can PM me here or email me at theresistancemuse@rocketmail.com . and the reason why I wanto ne this tour is because they probably won't come to NC again until the next couple of years. So anyone? Please? :supersad: :$

The stadium is pretty small and the stage takes up a fair part of the pitch so I think everyone will get a really good view. Tickets are on sale for $30 at the minute.

That said, if it was to be any Showbiz track, it would have been Sunburn and as there is apparantly no piano out tonight, s'not gonna happen.
Well they'd probably do that if in Europe, but in US not sure they will, not many people in stadium would understand why I suppose!!! (as they might not have received the 10 years message)!!!

So no USoE then?! I thought that was a core track. Are they not coming on for another 30 minutes?

Sod it! Well I'm going to have a cup of tea, wait to hear that they're hopefully on good form and then go to bed!
I forgot to follow the Scott's (was it?) gig.

False alarm with KoC. Poor Dommeh will have to play it as the last song, huh?
I really hope they play a Showbiz song. But if they do it won't be the piano version of Cave. :(
