Got their 1995 self-titled album a few days ago and I must say, it's frickin' awesome :D. Very strange bluesy, stoner grooves going on that somehow reminds me of Frank Zappa or Captain Beefheart at times, as well as bands like Kyuss.
7 Jam is fantastic :yesey:.
Any fans?

This is a band I have always meant to investigate, but never seem to get around to.

The boyfriend used to listen to them a lot. Just stoner rock in general, really.
I do sorta like them, but that's it really. There are other stoner rock bands that I like better.

Holy shit, these guys are local, haha. See here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clutch_(band)#Discography). Germantown is just up the pike from me, about 30 miles. Why have I never heard of them?! Kudos to Clunge for discovering a band in my back yard.

Clunge (or anyone else in the know), any pointers as to where a n00b should start with Clutch?

Boyfriend made me listen to Blast Tyrant as an introduction, so I guess that is a good place to start?

I'd personally go with their s/t album, that's where I started and it seems to be regarded as their seminal album.
