My nipple was, as they are quite sensitive. My scrotum just damaged my confidence, as I had to wap myself out in a piercing place, whilst some guy said "Crikey, you have massive nuts" then jabbed a needle/bar into my sac.

Needless to say I turned seven shades of red through embarrassment.

In the middle of my lower lip and one on the right eyebrow.
If I were slim enough I'll do also on the belly button, but I think it has no meaning if you keep it always covered so for now I'm not planning to make it.
I'd like to pierce my tongue but it's too expensive.
I paid 25 € for the lip and but I'm not gonna pay 60/65 € for a piercing on the tongue.

what scares me about belly button piercings is that if it gets infected your screwed because its so close to your internal organs. i was reading in the paper how a woman died of septisemia (sp?) from her belly button piercing.

It's implants I can't deal with. There is one bloke who has had a metal plate put into his head, so he can screw on various horn attachments.

I also know of someone who has had their tongue split, like a snakes. It looks so strange!

what? and what ?

Warning, this is disgusting:

Suspension, you basically get piercings on some part of your body and they hang you by them
http://www.newagetattoos.net/contact.html

Pocketing, they're like huge staples on your skin
http://www.tattoonet.com.br/tattoonet4/fotos/pocketing_menu.htm

Corseting, you get lots of piercings along your back and then you pass a ribbon or something thru them, like a corset

Hot water with salt melted into it. Pull it outwards EVER so gently and use a cotton bud to get right round, and make sure you do it at least twice a day, I did mine 3 times (before school, after school and before bed). My piercer is bloody good, I've never had any problems with him. Gives mucho good advice. :D

you should never use that on a piercing even if your skin isn't sensitive. It's too strong for it. Your body will reject the savlon cos it's not a natural substance, and therefor the piercing will eventually reject too. The fluid a piercing leaks when it is first done isn't puss either, and should not be taken as an indication to start using antibacterial stuff, cos it's just the bodies own plasma.

It's cool. I found out all that by asking questions. My piercer dreads me coming to the studio, cos he knows he's gonna get 300 questions before I let him near me, and that I'm gonna do the "what are you doing now? what is that for? can I watch?" thing the whole way through. I just like to know what I'm having done to me.

Oh, before I forget, insist on titanium jewellry when you're being pierced, because it's hypo-alergenic, so your body will not take an allergic reaction to it (unlike the other metals, which can cause bad side effects if your bady doesn't take to them). Ok, this time I really will stop with the biology lesson.

I read why. It sounds like your body was starting to reject it and that's why it stayed squint. I waited about 6 months before I changed it, just to be sure, though I was taking it in and out after 4.

Ummmmm, it wouldn't have gone wonky in the first place if it hadn't been rejecting. when mine was done I could pull it in any direction (gently, or it hurt like fuck) and it went back to normal. That made life easier for cleaning it. Once your body starts to reject it, the tissue starts to push it out, and that's possibly what caused it to go squint.

Yeah I could do that until I tried to take it out and pulled it to the side.I can't really understand why it went like that cuz I didn't pull it very hard

I'm not 100% sure on why it happens (I didn't do too well in human biology last year) but I think it has something to do with the tissue breaking down in order for the body to push the metal out. Don't quote me on that though, because I'm not 100%sure that's right.

I thought about it, but I was too embarrassed to get my boob out for my piercer to do it, and I didn't like the idea of having one permanently stiff nip. My boyfriend wasn't keen either, cos he says it's not attractive, and his opinion matters to me. But my god, if it went septic...

My friend had his lip pearced on saturday, didn't look so good. :(

My and my mate went to Cardiff once for an English Literature lecture. Anyway, after sitting through 3 hours of "The Color Purple" we got pretty bored.
I had the bright idea tht I wanted to go into town and get my nipple pierced(I'm full of bright ideas me...), as I'd wanted it done for ages.
So off we toddle to one of the MANY piercing studios in Cardiff and I started to get nervous...My mate (The Fab Friend that she is) Said that in order to make me feel at ease, she would get something done too. I made her go first (The Fab Friend that I am) She screamed so loud that I chickened out and left the studio!
She wasn't impressed.

I bought some contact lenses with my spare money instead......no pain involved!

I am a wimp.

hmm, i've just got 3 piercings in each ear. i got normal lobe ones when i was about 7, then i got 4 done at once when i was 14, at some dodgy tatoo place because it cost a tenner for 4 piercings. they didn't use any numbing stuff and it hurt like hell for days :( i couldn't lie down/sleep or lean on anything.
apart from that i wouldn't get anything else done because i don't think face piercings would suit me at all. and the other day my mate caught her bellybutton piercing on a desk and its gone all manky and bleeding and stuff. it's put me off them, lol.

they'd numb it with something then do it.

Aftercare, youd probably be advised gargling salt water and mouthwash, liquid diet no spicy food etc. but this is only for the first few days, a tongue piercing takes a week to heal in anyway, then you;d find the bar ya got in is too big so you'd need to go buy a shorter bar (1.6 normally) to swap down to

With me, I had to swish my mouth out with antiseptic mouthwash that also numbed my tongue, but I don't know if they'll do that with you because it doesn't happen in all piercing places.

They will make you stick your tongue out as far as you can, then grasp the end with clamps that look like tiny barbecue tongs but harder. I got pierced from the bottom up and then the bar is pushed through and screwed on. It happens really quickly it's over in about 5 seconds.

Soup and ice are good for the first 5 or so days afterwards. You'll need to have ice to reduce the swelling as quickly as possible. After about 6 days or so depending on how quickly the swelling goes down, you'll need to go back and get the bar changed to a shorter one so that it's more comfortable and yeah. I think that's it. Use saltwater rinses after everything you eat, and no spicy food, as someone else mentioned.

Yup same with me!! Except I had to keep the anticeptic in my mouth for 5 mins and in this time it made my mouth water so much i accidently swallowed some of it and anesthetised my throat and couldnt swallow properly for the rest of the day!! ha ha!!

I have two piercings in each ear.
On my birthday back in Dec 2001, I had my left eyebrow done. Problem was I cleaned it too well and it healed up and the piercing just literally fell out one day. I noticed the skin around it had been getting thinner but that often happens. So I waited 6 months and had it done again, making sure I only cleaned it once a day, each morning. And this one survived!

The first minor pain is the clamp. But that's fine after a couple of deep breaths. The piercing itself is, unsurprisingly, a piercing pain, but it only lasts for the second it takes to push the needle through. The next pain is quite sharp but again, momentary, as the jewellery is pulled through. Afterwards soreness is probably the best way to describe it, for a few days, with a sharp pain if you manhandle it too much while cleaning. Advice - try not to lean down to pick something off the floor while sitting on sofa, especially if female. Boob hitting knee can cause intense agony.

I've wanted my labret done for ages but my parents disprove and since I am technically still in need of their support I don't intend to upset them dramatically.

I'm really liking the conch idea though. But I know this will be a sore piercing cause it's cartiliage and it's take a while to heal in.

I wouldn't recommend putting 1.2mm in lip piercings.
It sometimes has the cheese wire effect.

I finded them ok changing them from 1.6 to 1.2. It feels abit funny, but i'll get used to it. I don't like big rings anyways.

They can be used in any piercing and when you get the knack of it are pretty easy to get in and out.

I got my beauty spot pierced 2 weeks ago, and no matter how well I look after it, it still has this yellow stuff coming out of it. People with piercings: What can I do to fix it??

elby
29-03-2006, 08:55 AM
How are you cleaning it at the moment?
To be honest the lymph you are producing (the yellow stuff) is normal for a 2 week old piercing, they don't heal immediately.

You need to clean the inside and the outside of your mouth differently.
You need to make up a salt solution (about 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt to a mug of boiling water) wait for it to cool, so it won't burn you and then if you can fully immerse the outside of the piercing in the water ( I usually use a shot glass), keep it there until the water cools, then rinse with normal water afterwards.

As for the inside you need to swill (as you would with mouthwash) with a different salt solution about twice every day and if you smoke, after that.

so I got my lip pierced in December, and had it till this past Feb. the ball on my favorite ring got lost =( so I took it out and then got one of the plastic retainers. lost the rubber ring to that too. so I took out for probably a day and it pretty much closed up :(

thinking about getting it repierced pretty soon, in the same spot. shouldn't be a different experience eh? or would it hurt more or anything? :$

elby
29-03-2006, 10:29 PM
It might hurt slightly more just because it will be being pierced through scar tissue.
You could try doing some Vitamin E oil massages to reduce the scar tissue.

I'd like the bit near the tragus done, more towards your face, it's a surface piercing, my friends a body piercer and tattooist and he says it's not painful so I may indulge.

I have my lip done and I have body jewellery in my ears one of which I want to stretch a little more not much though.

oof, isn't that meant to be rather painful? through the cartilage and all. worse than a lot of others, apparently..
