That's what I thought. He's on the banner twice, and for every song/band nominated. Honestly, I've never known a magazine to kiss a band's arse more than NME does to Muse.

other people must think we have nothing better to do than to vote our favourite band to the top of every competition. even before we make a judgement on how good the actual riffs are, (plug in baby and hysteria are great riffs) we immediately vote them as high as we can. i can accept that plug in baby or even hysteria can be first, but definately not supermassive black hole or new born! theyre good riffs, but even on a poll of how good they sound they wouldnt be in the top 20; and this is the greatest riff of all time, so obviously youve gotta think of the context too (which is why Smells Like Teen Spirit is rated so highly, even though it is a simple power chord riff)

and that is why i am embarrased, other people must think we are tits.

Dominic.

hmm, good point, but im just glad to see muse up there, maybe a couple of them shouldnt be up there, specially supermassive, I was happy with just plug in baby being #1, and then I checked today and they had the top 4:p

Are you serious? New born is a great riff. I like it better than the plug in baby riff. But SMBH? that shouldn't even be on the poll.

these polls are always bullshit cause theirs never any aussie bands included. all american and pommie junk..theirs some ripper aus bands out with killer riffage ,but never acknowledged
oh and the mars volta have some absolute killer riffs too, "frances the mute", "tetragrammaton" ,"metatron" to name a few.

I can't blame NME on that... those are three fine little booties to kiss!!!!

Anyway just what we needed - another NME poll for us to take over!!! :D I guess they're just trying to keep us busy until the new album comes out. A cunning diversion tactic that seems to be working... I wonder what next month's poll will be all about... Vote for the best live act or maybe vote for the drummer with the best super hero outfit...

Plug In Baby is the only Muse song that deserves to be on any top riffs' lists :\

SMBH? You've got to be fucking kidding me! I don't even know what riff it's referring to.

I quote:

5. Debate the Greatest Guitar Riff Of All Time. I'm tipping the Rolling Stones or Hendrix to win, but it would seem Muse fans have very different ideas...
